Alright. So, hey guys. I have actually been wondering about this question for a while and I wanted to see what other students would say about this. 

Simple question: Would you rather pass a test by cheating or fail a test without cheating?

And those are the ONLY 2 choices you can choose from for this thread. You can't make up your own choice.

Also, when you reply to this thread, please STATE a reason on why you chose that choice. I want to see some interesting replies please. Or at least some decent replies. 

So, for me, this is sort of a hard question... But I'd rather fail a test without cheating because if I do cheat in a test, There will be A LOT of heavy feelings of guilt on my chest. And it burns and it will be very hard for me to shake it off without confessing or resolving it in some way. That pain will last for quite a while if I keep it hidden. I remember going through this kind of pain when I was a little kid. It had nothing to do with cheating on a test but I don't want to really mention the story online. 

So, how about you guys?

I too would also rather fail a test without cheating basically because of the same reason as you. I would feel all guilty and know that I didn't do that because I was studying. I could always make it up in the next test though.

i do not cheat so fail cheating gets u kicked out of anything accept ur house

I'd honestly rather fail a test without cheating, simply because it's much less riskier.

Let's say I failed because I scored a 30%. I'd rather have that 30% counted to my final grade than to have a 0% for getting caught with cheating.

Of course, cheating will get me a higher grade if I wasn't to be caught. However, considering the risk of cheating (depending on the school and the test, it could get me expelled) and the amount that I will get just to have a passing grade; I say it ain't worth it.

There was a time in my life when I would rather pass a test by cheating.  There is little better exhilaration than doing your best on a test you've studied hard for, whether or not you pass.  If you haven't studied, the test most likely rack on your nerves.  If you are prepared, you shall not fear.  That's something I strongly believe in.

mohammedroxx3 : i also would rather pass the test without cheating it often gets people in trouble and theres so much lying involved that you eventually feel so guilty and they will eventually find out if your homeschooled or if you get caught in school you could get expelled and your parents are gonna be furious or live-id wich is even worse or that like you've messed up so badly that the're talking calmly

I've never had a situation where I needed to cheat to pass, but there have been times where I have barely passed without cheating (one course in particular), but I prefer that over cheating my way to 100.

I would much rather have a grade that is low but have it actually based off of what I know rather than copying off of someone else's work. you don't learn anything from doing that other than how to be good at cheating. The whole point of tests and quizzes is to see what YOU know, not what someone else has on their paper. I would study smartly to avoid getting a low or failing grade in the first place, but of the choices I would rather take a test and get a low grade, but have it reflect what I truly know and what I need to work on, rather than get a passing test grade based off of what someone else put on their paper. You don't learn anything from that, and you will never get that sense of self satisfaction if you resort to cheating all the time, and most of the time, chances are that the risk of getting caught doing it are greater than the chance you can actually get a way with it. The risk is higher than the reward here and in my opinion, it just isn't worth it. 

I would rather fail a test and not cheat, this is because I believe it is better to fail and learn something than to succeed and not learn anything.

I had to cheap my way through school, this question came up every time I took a test. I cheated a lot. Most of the English teachers I had didn't teach (and as some of you may know I have a learning disability that makes English a very hard subject), I ether had to fail or cheat and I took the latter. Some times you have to do what you have to do to get by and I have had to do some bad things (a lot worse than cheating on a test) to get by.

I don't recommend cheating, if you can learn the work then learn it but don't look down on someone because they cheat on a silly little test.

I would rather fail without cheating. I speak from experience, because I've failed one test in my life, and I've also cheated one time (not on a test, I don't think), and I felt a lot better about the honest fail than I did about the dishonest good grade. I only cheated on one question in all of my life, but I still feel crummy about it when I think back to that day. I may just have an overly powerful conscience though.

On the flip side, I don't feel any shame about the test that I failed, because I sort of tried, and I applied myself a lot better afterward, so I'm a better (and smarter) person for it.

Not to mention the disadvantage you put yourself at when you don't pass fairly, as you'll probably need that knowledge in a real situation one day, and you won't have a cheat sheet then.

I would rather get the good grade. I mean, what the heck? Why not? Cheating isnt all that bad.

I would rather fail a test without cheating than pass a test by cheating because I would feel quite guilty after passing a test by cheating and whenever I feel guilty I can not hide it so someone would think that I cheated.

I'd rather cheat to pass a test.  Decent grades are more important to me than emotions. I think I've only cheated once before, and I felt no guilt.

I kind of would do both if i had the chance. I would cheat on one test to pass. I wont do it all the time and risk getting caught. Mainly i just take he test and try my best.

Maybe the test you failed you got a 59% on and just failed.
Would rather have that then have a 0 if you get caught cheating.

What would happen if the teacher thought you were good at said subject cause you cheated on multiple occasions and made you represent your school at a competition or something

I would rather fail a test honestly instead of passing the Test by cheating.
I would feel all guilty and be disappointed about myself.
I would lie, if I say that I have not thought of it yet, but that is just wrong.
