There has been a lot of controversy about one of the most recent episodes of the Walking Dead. We all know the character Lizzy is a bit mentally unstable. In the recent episode she stabbed her sister and was about to stab Judith then was shot in the head by Carol. I myself don't see much problem with this seeing as how this is supposed to be realism and meant to be gruesome. What's your opinion on this episode.

Season finale this week, Terminus isn't all that it seems

I think it's fine. I don't know why people are complaining. I didn't even know about the controversy until I heard some of my favorite youtubers complaing about it. I think it's fine though.

The walking dead comic is much more gruesome so I don't have any problems with these things.. I just hope it goes more gruesome but I doubt it will, because it might upset many viewers.

If these kind of things upset people then they should watch something else.

That little girl was friggen crazy if put in that situation, I would have done the same thing. She was a danger to the people around her, and herself. Clearly unstable. I just finished watching the 15th episode of the 4th season, only 1 episode left and they've found Terminus.. well some of them have. Glad they got renewed for a 5th season!

So what exactly is the controversy of it? What are the people complaining specifically saying?

Cactuar : Hell yeah, the comic is way more gruesome. I wonder how many viewers are aware that in the comic, the Governor rapes Michonne, and she gets him back by later tying him to a chair, tortures him, and cuts off his genitals. If gruesome is the controversy, people need to get over it.

beautiful nightmare : I'd like to say I wouldn't kill a little kid but to be honest I probably would no doubt. She was creepy and a complete danger. This was her 2nd time she almost killed Judith.

rcarter2 : People didn't like how they had Lizzie stabbed her sister to death and that it was to "sick" and how they shot a living child in the head. To be honest I think this is the walking dead and there's not much wrong with it. I think this is technically what it should be about. It's the apocalypse and sh*t happens.

Blubcreator : Since we cancelled cable, I have not seen anything past the season finale where they defended the prison from the Governor's attack. So I can't give real two cents on the events of the current season. But concept-wise, I agree with you. Part of a show like this is about showing people having to make very difficult decisions in an absolute worst case scenario. Even though it is easy to get caught up in the fictional world, you have to be able to always be aware that what you are seeing is a fictional world, and it isn't happening. They are telling a story. Many famous books have a brutal death of a child character, and that doesn't get near the criticism just because they aren't seeing it with their eyes. But I don't think that it should be seen as different.

The Walking Dead follows people who are trying to survive the zombie apocalypse. There's obviously going to be a lot of violence and tensions, what with all of the death and trauma going around. It's expected that someone, regardless of age, would lose their marbles and do things like what Lizzy did. The complaints are therefore pretty much groundless, in my opinion.

I started losing interested in walking dead in season 3 and stopped watching at the 8th episode. I do plan to get back into Walking Dead again though once I'm bored and have some free time. My mom is addicted to the show though ever since I introduced it to her and now she's seen more episodes then me lol.

If you think that's bad, you should see what The Governor did to Michonne, and vice versa in the comics. It was brutal, and it gets worse.

If anything, The Walking Dead TV show hasn't yet gone far enough. The comic has been much better in nearly every way, but they've been stepping up with season 4, which I appreciate.

But it follows the changes in the normal human mind in the event of an apocalyptic situation. Depictions of violence and intense everything is to be expected.

I'm more or less upset that at the end of Season 4, Rick said "They're screwing with the wrong people" instead of the much cooler, much more intense version of the sentence from the comics. It not only would have been more iconic, but it would have been more powerful.

Also, it wouldn't have hurt for Rick to have a conversation with Dan when held at gunpoint, and led up to saying "We are The Walking Dead" and took that nasty bite out of him. Would have been so much more awesome.

alexanyways : Don't know were referring to the attack by the claimed gang at the end of your post and was referring to the comics there also. But he wasn't held at gun point and the guys name was Joe btw. Also if he said Joe probably would've retaliated and killed him.

Remember kids, in an apocalypse you don't have time for cool lines to say before you kill someone

Joe wouldn't have caught on, I feel as if it was an audience thing to hear, and if he did it just fast enough for no response to be heard, it would all be okay no matter what.

He was in a chokehold, but a few guns were around him, and he was initially at gunpoint.

As someone who really was never a fan of that show, I really think that it had. It was a little too much to be put on tv.

Honestly if anything the show's just trying to be accurate.

I mean these are friggin zombies for god's sake. They're EVERYWHERE. I'm surprised there haven't been more mental breakdowns already to be honest. I don't think the show's going to far so much as trying to accurately portray this existentialist box that the protagonists find themselves in.

If people are worried about gruesomeness in a show that is supposed to be extremely gruesome. One that showcases murder, death, betrayal, sadness, blood, gore, and every other such violent subject, then they should not be watching the show. I personally feel as if it is fine, and they have not gone too far at all. In fact, I feel like they have not gone far enough. The only problem is that there is a limit to what can be shown on TV, so they will not be able to take that extra step. 

If you go by the comic it hasn't gone far enough. The comic has rape an other twisted stuff the show has yet to hit on. So from a fan of both the show has along way to go.
