I would have to go ahead and say Mario cart even though I personally hate racing games. They just don't appeal to me that much even with iconic characters. However if I had to pick between these two, which i did, Mario Kart would be it. I mean Sega has tried racing stuff with Sonic before they put him in a car and its just...awkward with him being in a car honestly. I'd rather have Sonic run-race others than anything else which is why I preferred the SA2 racing multiplayer they had.

Yeah, I liked what they did in SA2 with run racing as well, that was much more "sonicy" than putting sonic in a car.

They should make an entire game based of the multiplayer in SA2.

I like mario Kart the most because I have been playing that one for ever. The first time I played it was maybe 10 years ago, and I don't believe I have played All Stars more than a handful of times.

   Although Sega All Star Racing is fun, it just isn't as hectic or fun as Mario Kart is. Although, the water parts and air parts are probably better than the gliding and underwater sections from Mario Kart, as far as changing up the gameplay, and keeping the tracks feeling different, it seems too much like a "serious" racing game, which I don't think is as fun. Mario Kart just seems better as far as gameplay, although All Star Racing is still pretty good.

I've played every Mario Kart and both Sonic and All-Star Racing games.  I have to say while All-Star Racing succeeds to innovate where Mario Kart has not, Mario Kart has a much smoother feel to it and has the better tracks, and better multiplayer.  If you put the best of both series together, you'd have quite the kart racer.  Hopefully Mario Kart 8 has learned from its competition and innovates more.

I always played mario kart on ds but honestly that was the only one i played. On the other hand I have played sonic and sega all stars racing which was really fun and addictive with the trophies and more characters. I also think the tracks were more fun and creative so I have to say I think sega all stars racing is my favorite. All though Mario Kart had some things I liked it did not have certain amazing features Sega All stars had such as all star moves. Well that might only be in sonic and sega all stars racing I am not sure if that is the only kind or if there is just sega all stars racing,
