Yes I nickname all my Pokémon even if I might not use them because I feel you create a special bond with your Pokémon when you give them a nickname like one of your friend's or something as long as its not a mean name with curse words then I feel theirs a bond through you and that Pokémon by what you call it and see it as you friend not as a animal

I tried it once, but it didn't work out, it felt awkward to see a pokemon without its original name. But I do name my pokemon in the Mystery Dungeon series because it is more practical when I am reading the log. Any other reasons I would name a pokemon would be that I already have another one of that same pokemon.

My favourite changes all the time.

Currently I love my Espeon on Pokemon X. It has the HA - Magic Bounce, so I can U-Turn or Volt Switch into it with one of my scouting Pokemon when something like Garvantula or Shuckle is out and bounce back their hazzards. MWHAHAHA

I love Umbreon as well - the best dark type in my opinion. That bulk speaks for itself. 

Vaporeon is also one of my favourite pokemon. Water is my favourite type and it was the first eeveelution I owned on Pokemon Blue! It has a great bulk, great movepool and can be used as an epic wish-passer.

I don't name my Pokemon like most people do. When it comes to naming, it either takes me a long time or I come up with lame names. It's easier for me to keep track with the original names. I think that nicknames will confuse me way more especially if I come back to an old file to play again.

The only time i nicknamed them was in SoulSilver in which i based of foreign languages or mythology. Example: Nidoking: Venenum from poison in Latin or Espeon: Sol from the Roman ( i think?) god of the sun, The only one without inspiration was my Feraligatr which i named Gator.

It irritates me to no end, seeing the Pokemon anime.  It seems they only rely on nicknames when the same Pokemon battle each other (like Pikachu vs. Sparky fight from the Indigo League).  I hope the writers make fun of this sometime and have another Pikachu vs. Pikachu battle ("Pikachu, use Iron Tail!  No, not you, Pikachu, I'm talking to Pikachu!").  

But that said, I've realized I've grown lazy and haven't named my Pokemon very often in the games.  So I am guilty as charged.  But I plan on changing this habit, even if I can't come up with an amazing and unique name off the top of my head.
