There are the 2 main modes on single player mine craft (with your few exceptions) and they are creative mode and survival mode. I want to know which of them do you play more, and why? What about it makes you want to play it?
I play creative the most because I get to build whatever I want. I don't need to go around and mine for the materials I will need. L

I prefer Survival.
Exploring cave, Mining, Killing mobs, using resouce wisely for shelter. 
All of that appeals to me and you just don't get that same adventure feeling you get from Survival when in creative.

I don't hate creative mode either. I love to build custom maps like the hunger games. I had a little tourniment with my friends over Xbox live with a Hunger Games map that I had made since at the time that was the only version of minecraft where you could switch between survival and creative without mods.

I play creative the most. I create battle arenas, spawns, and a few buildings to make the server look nicer.

I like creative but not as much as the other modes.

The potential of creative mode is amazing and I can't believe what some hardcore minecrafters have created. I've tried to
create such excellent structures myself. I'm currently messing with a mob spawner and sticky pistons.

I'm also designing a vast minecraft maze that I would make for adventure mode. I'm surprised I haven't run into any, yet.

I've drawn a lot of it on paper but the amount of work required is incredible.

Still, nothing compares to the natural conflict between wilderness and the human desire to survive.

So, I play creative more than survival, but I like survival more.

I play and prefer survival most. For some reason, building isn't my favourite part of the game, but rather exploration, and that's something you can't really enjoy in creative.

Local Mods : Duplicate thread. It is the same as the one EideticMemory posted, only EM's also have Adventure mode, which I haven't even heard of.

Since this was made before EideticMemory made it, and also, this is about what game mode you play, EM's is mentioning about what is your favorite game mode, two completely different things, at least to my point of view, I'll wait till David adds the other two mods and see what they think.

I play survival more.......you could say that i like to put my minecrafting skills to the test. (on a normal difficulty)

I play more in survival. I rarely ever play in creative. I like to actually gather the stuff I need and work on my builds. Creative just gets boring but in survival I can get more powerful and actually work to get stronger. It's not very impressive when you tell someone you have diamonds in creative mode. The only time I will go into creative mode is to make adventure/survival maps or test out my redstone builds. Other than that I'd rather play the game in survival like it should be played.

I will play on creative to build for fun sometimes but survival is just more fun for me.

tgags123 : Adventure mode is basically how it sounds like. You just walk around trying to survive but you can't actually break blocks or build. It's a pretty boring mode hence why you probably never heard of it. I think it can only be accessed through a chat command (gamemode 3 i think) but they may have added it into the gamemode menu in 1.7 though I'm not exactly sure.

I definitely play survival more. I built a couple of homes in one world in survival, without delving into creative at all, before finally deciding to switch to creative for a few hours on the same slot. I basically blew the crap out of the ground (envision hundreds and hundreds of TNT blowing the crap out of some dirt), and then built a house made of obsidian with lava entrances. Also, I modded the heck out of a suit of armor, so now I'm basically invincible.

The worst part was when I built all that, and then got lost on the other side of the map. Thankfully, I was able to remember the coordinates well enough to get close to home, where I recognized the scenery.

i play creative because you can fly and you cant die

I have Minecraft for the xbox 360.  I played through the game once on survival, but that was enough for me.  Most of the time I've spent playing the game has been in creative.  I take a lot of pleasure in building sprawling cities and castles!  My most recent project was to recreate Neuschwanstein Castle.  That one took a couple of weeks to complete.

While I enjoy a challenge in the games that I play, I look at Minecraft the same way as I look at LEGO's.  I pull it out when I want to spend an afternoon creating something beautiful.

Recently, I've been talking with a friend about a new project.  We are looking at the possibility of building a Corellean Corvette and the Millenium Falcon.  We are also considering a few other ships, but we its still in the "discussing it" phase of things.

Honestly since I am really really bad at building various structures in minecraft, I prefer survival mode.  If I am just exploring a world seed or working on some beast spawn mods creative is always really fun.  I really like hunting for all the monsters that spawn everywhere and trying to defeat as many as possible idk.  I sometimes end up dying but it's still really fun, looking for trouble and whatnot.  I'll usually go on some youtube channels and look up some beast creators or online for some skins to download.  All in all I'd actually say I prefer creative mode.

arcaneInfern0 :   You don't like building things in Minecraft?  Have you ever tried looking up house blueprints or something similar?  That's what I do a lot of the time.  It gives you a rough idea of how to build things if visual guides help you. 

Another fun thing to do is to take a book of mazes and build one of them in your world.  Make the walls one brick thick, and the halls three bricks wide, and three bricks high.  It can be a real riot trying to find your way through it again later, especially if you are racing for time against a friend!  (We have discovered that putting a torch on every block can be very disorienting if you are looking for a way to make the maze more difficult.  Alternately, making the walls out of lava is just as bad, and adds a pretty serious element of danger to the maze, especially if you are trying to rush through it!)

Creative mode definitely. I'm not a big fan of survival mode, although I do on occasion play hardcore mode to kill a couple hours. The reason I like creative more is because I don't have to worry about dying (unless I use the kill player command) and I have unlimited resources to build my churches, castles, and strongholds. The flying's a nice little bonus. Maybe sometime I'll upload a screenshot of my floating village when it's done.

I prefer survival. Even when it comes to building.

I like to present myself with a challenge on survival mode, such as build a 60 block tower or build a town. It takes a lot of work to do and you feel proud after accomplishing it.

I think I play an even match of the two right now. Sometimes I play survival and sometimes I play creative. It all just depends on my mood.
