Do you like when a book or movie ends in a cliff hanger? I don't. I like to know how the story ends. How about you?

Barathemos : Or you could, you know, read the books and find out what happens

The most annoying cliff hanger I have encountered is the end of the book The Giver. I was reading it as a school project, and I was really getting into it. Just as you get to the climax of the book, it ends.

I do like cliffhangers, but only if they are small. If a cliffhanger is really big, then I can’t stand it because I would have to wait so long to see what happens.

I don't and I especially hate it when it happens with a canceled series or Movie that may not have a sequel. Often when I face a really big cliff hanger I will go online and see the theories that others have thought up. Usually that satiates my brain until the real sequel pops up.

Ugh It's absolutely the worst but I couldn't imagine half of my favourite movies or books without them. They just add so much suspense to it. It's kind of like a love hate relationship . What I don't like however is when movies stop before the ending or conclusion and your supposed to decide the ending or what it means *cough* Inception *cough*. You start loving the movie and it does that to you. It's just the worst.

Cliff hangers are a little annoying when you just want to get to the end already.
As Barathemos pretty much said we usually have to wait a long time before we can actually get to see the outcome.
It is just a very effective scam that authors and directors use to make more and more money.

I only like the cliff hangers that just leave you wondering without another sequel that you know is coming.
When Sherlock Holmes died in the series of Sherlock before the current one, at the end of that everyone thought that everything was over and that the show was gone but out of the blue here we have Sherlock alive!

Warmaker hunched over his computer in the basement of the beaten apartment building.  Explosions ripped through the city as men clung to control with their fingertips.  Bursts nearby rattled the building as Warmaker typed to finish answering the question.  He stopped and looked up as the single light bulb over his head flickered, went out, and came back.  It too battled to survive.  Shouts and smaller explosions, grenades most likely, came from above the ceiling.  The door was being kicked down as Warmaker finished the last few sentences.

"Must... finish..." he said, fingers flying over the keyboard.  The door burst open and men with stood at the top of the steps, pointing their rifles at him.  Warmaker's finger went to the Enter key and

To be honest, I prefer cliff hangers. There is no patience nor suspense if cliff hangers had not existed. I mean, life is about act patient and it is also about suspenseful moment. Nothing throughout a life of a human being shall be perfect. Does it matter if you must await? I mean, you shall eventually be revealed to what occurs. Many people complain about stuff like this, just get over it. Back then, there was absolutely no television nor films, so feel grateful. Overall, I would prefer cliff hangers, you know, to cause the television show or film to become much more intriguing? Haha! Farewell, Vizzed!

Cliffhangers are a marketing trick. They don't tell you the ending so you watch the next episode.

I like some cliff hangers, if I know they will be answered and they are done great they can be great, if they are overly cheesy and generic I absolutely hate them and I will refuse to watch the next episode regardless how how good the series is.

supernerd117 : I was going to post that if someone else didn't already. but you did

Well to the actual question. I think cliff hangers are good sometimes and bad sometimes. For example: if it is a weekly show then that is not that bad because I can wait a week. They are bad sometimes when it is like a whole movie because I would most likely have to wait a few years.

Call me kiddy, but I read this series known as the "Origami Yoda series." I own the whole series, and every edition leaves you at a Cliffhanger. Now I'm waiting until Tom Angleberger releases a sequel this year.

Cliffhangers can be fun when they are something minor. Like it's just something to leave to the audiences imagination. But if it's something bigger then it's annoying.

I hate cliff hangers. If anyone has watched the There She Is series, you'll know that after part four is a horrible place to stop. Part three is pretty bad, too, but part four takes the cake.

Most of the time, yes. I love cliff hangers because they leave me in suspense (which I don't like sometimes, but oh, well), and also, they hint to possible sequels ^^! I love sequels... Usually.
