I have to say that secret of mana is mine. Was one of the first snes games I played and rly enjoyed. Never completed it. I'm about half way thru. Game play so fluent and the menu system. Oh man. rly fun game to get someone into rpgs. Plus a multiplayer rpg. that is pretty much what one me over.

Well I use to always play Donkey Kong Country and always loved playing it. Of course I also liked game such as Super Mario World and Yoshi's Island but Donkey Kong Country was my favorite.

Hands down, its not even something I have to think about. My personal favorite SNES game is "Legend of Zelda: A Link to the Past. In fact I now plan to sit down and play the whole game through right now! I just finished a game and couldn't figure out what to play next. Thank you!

While I like A Link to the Past, my favorite SNES game would have to be Chrono Trigger. So many fond memories.

My favorite on that list would have to be Mega Man X. Not on the list it would most likely be Super Mario Kart.

Wow neither of my top two games of this system is mentioned.  I have an equal love for Wonder Project J and Star Ocean.  Two big giant games that keep you playing for days on end.

Wonder Project J has you raise a robot named Pinno and he does some funny stuff.  Trying to teach him how to interact with a dog he will kick it and get bitten and that's just funny!  He also has a hard time to learn how to open a door!  He'll pray at the door, kick it down, and yell at it before he learns how to open it normally.  He also will eat things you don't want him to like a magic stone, a sleeping pill, books, and other wild things.  Oh my fave scene is when he insults the turtle god and gets smited!

Star Ocean I haven't fully played yet but it's a vast game.  Not only do you have a typical RPG but it has extras like character relationships, and crafting system.  It takes place before Star Ocean 2 and has a very close feel to the playstation Star Ocean 2.  A must play for RPG fans!

It was pretty hard to choose over which SNES game was my favorite.
It came down to the end where I had to choose between Legend of Zelda A Link to the Past or Earthbound.
I decided to choose Earthbound over Legend of Zelda A Link to the Past mainly because Earthbound barely just won me over with its dialogue that I seemed to liked when playing the game.

ooo Toughie. A Link to the Past was certainly a great game and admittedly I can unlock most of the secret lvls on Super Mario World, and even figured out how to skip some of the game (it's possible). But I would have to go with Super Metroid over the games here, first game I did speedrun on and let's not forget that murder beam glitch.

This kind of decision annoys me. Not because their presence is annoying but because the choice are so tough.
The SNES was in my opinion the true peak of Nintendo. The NES was great and SNES corrected everything that was wrong and corrected what the Mega Drive (Genesis) did wrong too!

The games were just amazing. As I said I get annoyed at this kind of decision.
You have Super Mario World, the perfection of Mario games which for me slightly tipped the edge over Mario 3 in my opinion. Everything just felt right throughout the game, the difficulty wasn't too hard nor too easy like modern Mario games and you could set up some amazing enemy 1ups if your timimg is correct.

Then there is Super Metroid. This game really showed us what depth was. The first metroid did an amazing job the second for the Gameboy... Meh. Super Metroid however. Oh boy this was what set me off.
There is so much to explore, so many upgrades and power ups, nessesary or not. There was great music on every section of the game which in my opinion is a very hard task to pull off. This game was amazing and it still is.

Finally there is the port of DOOM. This port was the best at the time. The 32x and Jaguar ports looked much better but the 32x was missing half the game and had terrible music and the Atari Jaguar port had no music.
The SNES one was simple visually but the music was still good and the game play was almost as up to scratch as the PC or Xbox versions. I can not really go on too much about why it was great for the SNES since I don't need to. It is DOOM!

While I can not decide  I am really glad that I have been exposed to thease games on vizzed since I never grew up with them. From that I have even brought my own SNES and all 3 of thease games and a few others like A Link to the Past. I thank the tRiune and Jigsaw often but this was in some sense life changing to me.

I'd have to agree with the person that made this thread and go with Super Metroid. It got everything right, and played out the groundwork for many phenomenal games to come. I'm currently playing earthbound for the SNES. It is good fun so far.
Also, I know this may raise controversey, but I don't think that A Link To The Past is as great as others find it to be. Don't get me wrong, I love it, and it played out the groundwork for the series just like Super Metroid did. I just don't have that "this is crazy awesome" spark with that game.

I find Super Mario World the best SNES game, in my opinion. It was a great launch title for it. There would be other games that I liked for the SNES that was awesome, but Super Mario World would take the cake for it.

There were a lot of really incredible games released on the old SNES, so its hard to choose just one game!

But if I had to choose just one, I think the Secret of Mana was my all time favorite.  (And I am pleased to see that at least one person in this thread agrees with me!)

If I had to choose a game from the poll list however, I would choose The Legend of Zelda: A Link to the Past.

A week ago I would have said A Link to the Past without a thought.
But.... I picked up Yoshi's Island again the other day and love it!
I'd forgotten how great it was.
