Pretty fun question.

I guess I would rather be a joyful simpleton, for I do not want to be constantly worried, and there's room for improvement anyway

I can learn and become a genius myself, and not have the worried side-affects. 

However, maybe the worried genius is at a stage of improbably knowledge, and is the smartest person alive (*ahem*, Artemis Fowl, *ahem*). Can you reach that level of genius superiority from such a low level as a simpleton? 
In all honesty, you are required to be a genius to succeed in life anyways, so learn as much as you can, and just keep that knowledge. 

Worry is just not a good thing to have in your life anyways, so that's also a deciding factor.

Worried genius .For one I'd be smart  . So if I am worried I would quickly and effortlessly devise  a way NOT to be worried .  Not that hard actually . AND being a simpleton gets you no where but a mental hospital . I'd rather not get put in the padded room

You can, if persistent, be as smart as you want if you study hard enough. You could be as dumb as a log to as smart as Einstein in just a few months if you actually put forth towards your studies.

Being worried isn't worth it. Sure, becoming a genius will take REALLY hard work, but that doesn't mean you should waste your psychological health for it. It'll put way too much stress on you, way too much worry, and won't let you enjoy the smarts you have. (And, ultimately, you'll die faster. )

Joyful Simpleton, just because hard work will always come a long way. I rather not have to stress about every single thing, that I would if I were a worried genius. Not a pretty site, and definitely not healthy. 

Like zanderlex, I'm already a bit of a worried genius. I worry over the smallest things such as not being able to say hello to someone in my year/grade. Even if it was for one day I would like to see a simpleton's perspective of the world if much. It just gets a bit too much being negative.

I'd rather be a joyful simpleton, because I like to enjoy life and NOT be too stressed out with tasks!!

It depends on what kind of day I'm having. I can be a joyful simpleton sometimes. I can also be a worried genius. But. Always the BUT with me. LOL. 

I also have days when I can be a worried simpleton. I worry about how others look at me. My Insecurities go wild. Then I can also be a Joyful Genius. Why? Well, cuz I don't care what other people tell me, because I usually tell them off with 5 words maximum. And just go on with my day.

So I can actually be both mixed together if the day permits.

A joyful simpleton.  A joyful simpleton will be more productive in the long run.  A worried genius will quickly wither away, though.  The genius may contribute much during his lifetime, but would live out his days in misery.

I am a little bit of a worried genius, though.  My main problem is that I don't apply myself enough.  With great power comes great responsibility...A wise man said that once.

I value health and the quality of life over knowledge, and based on that opinion, I would say that I'd rather be a joyful simpleton. I wouldn't like to be constantly worried, I just want to have fun.

Joyful Simpleton because I don't like to worry about anything.

Although I would value being a genius any day, I would much rather enjoy living my days without worry or stress, so that would be the one main reason why I would rather be a joyful simpleton than a worried genius. A worried genius might be very smart and make a lot of contributions and inventions as supernerd said, but I wouldn't want to live my life in worry and end it in misery. So I would pick an average, but happy simpleton's life.

I'd go with Joyful Simpleton. Being a worried anything causes stress, which makes it easier to get sick, and decreases the quality of life overall. While being a simpleton may not seem the best way for progress, it does seem like the healthier option.

Worried genius. Like a few others said, I already kind of point that way. It's hard not to be "worried" when everyone expects so much of you, (perfectionism is the worst, trust me), but I guess I'm a bit greedy in that however smart I am, I always wish I was even smarter, because it would open up so many more possibilities than I have even now. I guess I value knowledge over almost everything else, which I know is kind of dumb because there are many other important things, but that value is just so applicable to me, and I've sort of been raised that way. I mean, there are so many things a great mind can do, and I spend most of my time thinking or dreaming anyway, so I don't really know who I'd be if I lost that. True genius is horribly isolating and not very fun at all, but I'd rather go through the pains of a true genius if it meant I could make a true difference in this world and help to improve it for everyone else. I am only one person, after all, and I'd sacrifice my happiness in a heartbeat for something like that.

I think I would rather be a joyful simpleton, but not so much of a simpleton people think of me as ignorant.

I'm already a joyful simpleton why be anything else. I love to have fun pyre and simple.
