So obviously there have been a few users saying the site is dying and all of their friends are leaving when, in reality, their user cycle or "generation" may just be coming to a close. I just joined, so if their user cycle is ending, I guess the cycle after theirs is considered my user cycle. What I'm saying is new people come and go, and the people who stick around are the most important.

Exactly technically, my cycle has ended then. I'll just be that one old person who survives in every cycle.

I agree with everything said here, and I'll just add in this comment. Just because your friends are leaving doesn't mean Vizzed is dieing nor is it the end of the world, if they leave it just means you have to go out and look for new friends among the newer comers that have came to the site. Some times I feel like my cycle was over on here 300+ days ago by I just couldn't leave this place, especially not after all the time and work and  dedication I put in to better the site.

The new cycle has been here for about 50 days. With all these new users like thephantombrain, mistress, tgags123, goodboy, sidewinder, and quite a few others, you are seeing the middle of a cycle. This cycle was not as strong as it should have been.

The days this site start dying, is when Davideo stops maintaining it.

Just because people come and go, doesn't mean anything in comparison to hours spent playing and working on the site or 'users' joining the site.

Personally, I love it here, it gets me away from stuff I want to put to one side, and I can talk openly with people I don't even know, about my problems, games that I love, or even what the next pair of shoes their mothers, cousins girlfriends dog wants to wear.

If it wasn't for the people here, I would have probably just logged in for my viz, then go play a game till I got bored, and then log out. Since discovering the Forums here, and just how accepting people can be. I have spent more time talking than actually playing a game.

This could be very well true.  But I am not so sure honestly.  I have left and returned twice now, though a couple years apart.  The site is pretty addictive and seems to keep calling me back to it in the end, not that its a bad things, everyone here is super nice, and the games are always fun.

This "user cycle" is the reason people always think that "vizzed is dying", or "people are just annoying and immature now". I've been here a long time, and every time a user's friends start to "end their cycle", they say this.

While this site does slowly evolve and change, it's basically the same thing over and over in cycles of users.

User cycle ends and starts again. You have to make the most of these things in a way. My cycle has ended but guess what? People need to make some new friends if that happens, instead of complaining about it like little kids! *Sighs* being depressed about it will not help either that will put more pressure on yourself. You just have to grow strong from it. Have that strong will like I said before they will return I believe so. In the meantime do other stuff while waiting and not complain about it. There is always new things going on Vizzed and new people coming on. Remember there is always a light at the end of the tunnel when you are in the dark about this kind of situation. Always look for that light no matter how hard it is.....

Okay, here's my two cents on this whole thing. Why do we care about "Cycles"? I mean yeah its the change of people leaving and new people coming but dang, why do we let it become such a big deal? Cycles happen everywhere, not just on online sites, its happens in life. We lose friends, we get new ones, and our environment changes and such based on our choices or the world changes around us and we adapt. And I honestly don't mean to sound rude at all but its getting a little stupid. 

If you want to stay, then by all means stay, Vizzed as a whole is happy to have experienced users here. If you feel like you need a change or something then go, you will be missed but don't let things hold you back. And if you want to return someday we'll welcome any and all who return to us with open arms. I for one will being staying here.

Vizzed has become an online home for me here in the forums and the RGR. And with what experience I gain i'd gladly share it with new users and anyone who asks. I love the friends I made here this time around despite having not coming around for a full year due to some sudden life events. But I've come back and I sure as heck ain't leavin' now. If there comes a time my beloved friends wish to leave then i'll just have to suck it up and wish them the best of luck with whatever it is they are going to do in life. If i'm lucky, i'll make some new friends while the old ones stay gold and remain memories to smile at and bring up.

So why must we label people coming and going "cycles"? That's just life man. I mean if we're gonna give it names we may as well dub it "The vicious Cycle of Life". But that's just how I feel on the whole ordeal and i mean no offense to anyone. 

zerothesaint : It isn't a matter of people caring so much about a cycle ending. The issue that has been going on is that there have been quite a few who have only been here for a short period of time who are declaring that this site is dying, and they don't realize that this is just a cycle that has happened numerous times on this site. So the point of my thread (the one that inspired this one) is to basically say that the people who have quit or are becoming inactive are not so significant that their absence will somehow end the site. People are mainly just thinking a little too highly of themselves.

SheLikesCloth : This is true, though Many of my friends are still around. Sometimes life gets in the way and you have to do things that take you away from this lovely web site. I've been a member since 2010 and its been a up down roller coaster with staying active all the time, I have many interests and they too go through cycles like one week it's video games the next week its skateboarding etc etc. That being said keep coming back and enjoy your time here even if your only here for a little while because your opinion and presence is always valued at Vizzed Thanks DiaebeticZach

Yeah rcarter made another thread explaining that this is normal and that the low activity isn't like a new thing and he said that users leaving and quitting vizzed happened before and it is just going in cycles. So it really isn't something that happened recently, it has been that way since the beginning. It happens often and I have seen it myself, many of my good friends have left vizzed because of change or not being able to post, or just problems in their life and they are scarce. It is a normal thing and it isn't a new thing. 


So yeah it goes in cycles, so this site isn't dying at all, all of the other users that leave are then replaced with new users that come in and post. So it is basically a never ending cycle of new users to replace the older ones that leave. That is just how I see it and I think rcarter did a great job of explaining that in his thread. 

Good point! Vizzed users need to stop making such a big deal out of some users and forums not being very active sometimes. This site is not even close to dying. Many users register every single day (unless the site is down all day) and many users post in the forums frequently!

Mostly it really depends on the person, mostly users cone and go and users between now and like a year or 2 ago is completely different, and only a couple still manage to stick around the site, but not a whole lot.
