Anyone else just done with cartoons now day's I mean really television cartoon quality has gone down dramatically over the pass couple of years. I mean seriously some of the cartoons on cartoon network and Disney (not to mention nick, hardly any cartoons anymore just stupid sit coms).

Cartoon networks latest attempt at a decent cartoon is uncle grampa which is my opinion is just plain stupid, So does anyone else have any opinions on cartoons now days from any channel, any shows you can name that are just utter crap, share here. 

I must agree with you, cartoons these days are quite unimaginative. I babysit a bit, and the little ones I watch over are fanatics of cartoons. They watch Sponge Bob, which I used to watch when I was younger. It isn't so bad, but I think I have seen most of them by now, so it just gets boring for me. However, the other cartoons they happen to watch are just random garbage. Yes, that Uncle Grandpa show...it makes no sense to me whatsoever. 

I just watch documentaries, Duck Dynasty, Mythbusters, and most things on ESPN. I unintentionally watch the news, since that's what my mom watches during dinner, so i am forced to watch em as well, but other than that, I don't watch much. 

Divine Aurora : I still watch Adventure Time. It seems to be the only decent program on Cartoon Network. Sometimes it can be childish but there are some jokes that older viewers as well and is why I love it.
I do agree with you, the majority of cartoons and almost TV is just very bad sitcoms. I hate the Amazing World of Gumball, it is the most stupid program ever!! I have never heard of Uncle Grandpa it sounds really crap!!

I think it is more of a matter of trying to find the better quality cartoons, which I think it is harder to do so nowadays compared to back in the day, when a lot of cartoons are considered great quality. There are, however, some great cartoons today. One of them, in my opinion started a new season a couple of weeks ago (Avatar: Legend of Korra).

As for Avatar, I unfortunately won't watch it.  (I'm sure you know why.)  However, I do have to agree with the OP.  Today's cartoons are AWFUL.  My husband recently decided to pay for cable... something we haven't done since getting married.  I seriously haven't had cable for 8 years now.  Well, the more I see what's on TV, the more I think it's a huge waste of money.  The stupidest cartoon I will watch is Spongebob, but it's got funny stuff in it, too.

MOST of today's cartoons, I think, try to be funny by being just... -mindlessly- stupid.  Farts, snot, and vomit.  Um, no thanks!  If the shows don't try to be stupid, they try to make jokes at everything under the sun that just might offend someone.  I think it's sad that society has come to the point where mocking people is a source of enjoyment.  I really do.  It's reflected often in the cartoons and TV shows.

Well, Yeah.. Some of the shows today just honestly aren't much in comparison to the majority of the shows from our childhoods (Including mine, And yes... I am still a child, I know.) But they aren't all bad, The only example I'm going to say is My Little Pony: Friendship is Magic which has a huge fan base and an amazing cast and crew which cares about putting on a good show. (And funded by the ever greedy Hasbro mind you.) I mean most of the jokes and spoofs in the series would only be understood by both an more mature audience and an older one as well.

So yeah, While there are some really annoying shows out there now a days it's not all bad, I just wanted to throw this out there and bring to the attention that there are more than just bad shows and that it's not exactly good to dwell only on the negative, There are still plenty of good shows out there, You just need to know where to look for them is all. I hope you find this post enjoyable.

I agree, most cartoons are pretty bad. The only good cartoons in my opinion are:
Adventure Time
My Little Pony:Friendship is Magic
Gravity Falls
Spongebob (The old episodes where a lot better)
The Fairly Odd Parents (Same as Spongebob)
Besides those, most other cartoons are just bad. Most of the ones I see are just butt/fart jokes.

Pfft, I quit watching tv a few years ago with the exception of a few shows that I watch every now and then. Cartoons suck nowadays, all of them are filled with immature, non funny garbage and I think the quality is just steadily getting worse.

Uncle grandpa is lame, adventure time sucks, and the only thing I think is funny from cartoon network is regular show, I think it is decent. Other than that though, everything there just sucks. And don't get me started on disney, I mean nothing good ever comes on disney. So yeah I agree with you about this. I just stopped watching tv altogether just because the quality is only getting worse. Nothing good comes on anymore, I like cartoons like tom and Jerry and the other classics. All the stuff from today is immature garbage that isn't even funny. So yeah the quality of tv and cartoons nowadays just sucks and I think it is only going to get worse before it gets any better.

Yeah. I remember when cartoons weren't all about trying to be as loud and farce as possible. And pretty much every character is just mindless. I remember Loony Toons. Yes, it was lout and "Loony". But the all the characters were very well developed, dynamic, and could use smart humor. They mixed the Loony for the kids with the smart humor for the adults. It was meant to give you something that a parent and kid can enjoy together. Now it is all about just keeping kids glued to the TV sets. There is no consideration about spending time with parents with shows anymore. None of these shows have humor that adults can appreciate. That was the downfall there. I don't still enjoy my old cartoons because of nostalgia of what I grew up with. I like it because when I watch it, it is like seeing new humor in an all new light because there was so much I did not understand as a kid. As an adult, I get to see those jokes that I get now. Again, there is just NOTHING like that in today's cartoons. 

rcarter2 : EXACTLY. This was the point I was trying to make earlier.  I though I'd mention how the humor used to be SMART.  There were jokes for adults and kids alike.  I mean, by golly, watching Bugs Bunny now?  Mind boggling!

I agree . Some cartoons are not nice . But  still watch some that are .  I don't think I'll ever stop watching cartoons until I am married and have kids and I have more important things to do .  But for now . I ain't stopping

Here he comes... The one guy who creates that awkward moment for himself by disagreeing with the crowd (but who's ever mistaken me for being one to follow the crowds?), but I have to say, I enjoy modern cartoons a lot more than most older ones. I never really cared much for action or the humor in most cartoons from back in the day. The exceptions to the humor part is the old Cartoon Network stuff (Two Stupid Dogs, anyone?). Now we have plenty of funny cartoons: Gravity Falls, Fish Hooks, Phineas And Ferb, The Amazing World of Gumball, Teen Titans Go!, The Looney Toons Show, Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles, Johnny Test, and more. Good stuff, in my opinion. I have to say Uncle Grandpa is a bit...odd. Definitely not CNs best idea ever.

My opinion has changed drastically since I started looking for cartoons lately. I can see how these could not appeal to some today though, so I can see why the opinion here is what it is.

I don't know if it counts as a cartoon, but
it seems to be the only balanced show of it's kind on
television. The whole family can enjoy the drama, the humour.
And it isn't exteremely imature.

I only modern cartoon (that isn't for 3 years olds) that I liked
Was the Looney tunes show. But even it seemded a little to stupid 
at times.

People like to laugh at stupid stuff, and that's not a bad thing.
It's just to much stupidity is used nowadays in the cartoons.

Instead of a well thought out joke, it's more off someone acting
like they have a small cauliflower in their head instead of a brain.
They just break out and start saying stuff in a jittery manner like:

"Uhh, hu hu huh haa, MUFFFIN STOLE MY PANTS, WHAT'LL THE TOMATOES TINK OF THAT?"

Part of what makes something funny is when you see odd things happen to character that are
well developed and you know very well, like When Luke Skywalker makes a joke.

The fact that cartoons nowadays don't have much of an adventure aspect is
kinda dissapionting. But hey, that reason and all of the others above is why I 
pretty much only play video games for my entertainment.

Not to pick on peoples personal tastes.

For me, T.V. in general has just gone downhill. So many of the shows have just gotten stupid. I can't even watch the History Channel anymore without it showing some odd show about pawning items or restoring old items and all that. I want to see real history documentaries and stuff on history around the world.

As for cartoons..that pretty much died right after they stopped playing Looney Toons mostly, Toonami being gone, and a lot of the loveable cartoons like Courage The Cowardly Dog being taken off and all that stuff being moved to Boomerang (which I don't have that channel at all). I can't stand cartoons today..like..there's nothing to understand about them at all. And this is my own opinion, I hold nothing against anyone else but good god has the very essence of stupidity riddled the cartoon world? By the time i'm part way trying to watch one of those cartoons i'm sitting there thinking "what the heck am I even watching?". But I guess that's just how society evolves and stuff and new things come around.

But I hardly even touch a remote for my T.V. unless i'm turning it on to play a video game and change the source to whatever is needed. Its all become too stale for me. HOWEVER! One show I noticed at a friends house has my attention. I saw the commercial for a crazy mind-bending show called American Horror Stories. I can't remember what the rest of the title was but for whatever reason it so reminds me of Silent Hill...so I figured i'd give it a shot Oct. 9.

So yeah..there you go. My opinion on this thing. Again though, I mean not to offend anyone at all.

I don't watch TV at all basically, but when Adventure time is on, that's a good show.

The only shows I like watching is Phineas and ferb and gravity falls, Family guy, The Simpisions. or however you spell it.



I pratically despise every other Tv cartoon, because I practically lost interest in most of them a long time ago.  "aka" the newer cartoons.



I used to have an addiction to watching spongebob too, but I lost interest when it later on started getting retarded and dull.

YES! These newer cartoons are extremely pointless. Thank god for Anime. Though watching the new Digimon Fusion which is ok.
