Ah, the 80's and 90's. Childhood craft work at its best. You can still remember your first arcade game. The smell of pizza in the air. Your shoes against the sticky floor. The dark room and the bright machines made it look like a small city. You put your shiny quarters into the machine....
You probably still have that one game that you would happily empty your savings into if you saw it today. My question is, just what game would that be? Post your favorite arcade game here. If you can still remember why you loved it so much, or the first time you played it, or any memories at all, post it here. If the game just so happens to be on Vizzed, link it please.

It's a tie. There is one game that can never be emulated correctly that I would dump many a quarter into right now. That game is Paperboy. The reason I say it can never be emulated correctly is because the controls on the machines cabinet were bike handle bars.

http://kentdoggydog.files.wordpress.com/2010/06/paperboy.jpg

Somehow using handlebars to control the paperboy made me become more immersed in the game.

Indiana Jones and the Temple of Doom is my other favorite but unlike Paperboy, none of its play-ability has been lost in translation to MAME.

I've even reviewed this game before but the tone of my review makes me sound like a fanboy. (Which is true.) You can read my review here - https://www.vizzed.com/boards/thread.php?id=64021

thephantombrain :  Wow.. we had Paperboy on NES, but I never saw a cabinet version of it before.  That's pretty epic! I would have loved that myself!  Personally, some of my very first games were on the Amiga computers.  I played little math games where you had to gather crystals in a spaceship, and also lemmings.  Boy oh boy... I LOVED lemmings.

We played so many games on that Amiga, but I remember so few, which saddens me.  It's kinda odd to think of how many people on vizzed don't even have a clue about what an Amiga is.

Discs of Tron, Goonies, Star Wars, and TMNT.

My favorite by far was Discs of Tron and like Paper Boy it had a unique control set up. On one side you had a flight stick-like designed controller for movement/attack/defense and on the other a dial to rotate your aiming reticule around the ring. Making a double ricochet shot into a foe never felt so good.

Ah now this thread right here brings back some good memories. Well, when I was younger there use to be a restaurant around here called Godfather's Pizza. It wasn't a huge place, family friendly and all that but they had one arcade machine, the game for it: Bust-A-Move 99'. That is one of my all time favorite games because of that. I use to bed my dad for quarters all the time so I could play it.

My favorites are DigDug, and Galagia. I love both of those games! Galagia is one of those games that you just really love, but are no good at whatsoever. And DigDug is just really addicting, I always love playing it, I can actually beat the first 13 levels.

My favourite arcade game is Space Invaders. I think it counts, I'm not too sure...but yeah, I love that game so much. Setting the high score for your friends/family is fun.

My favorite classic arcade game is Pac-Man. I have been playing Pac-Man for six years (I played a flash game version of it until I could finally play the classic arcade version of it 3 years later) and I still play it once in a while.

It would be Pac - man. I am in love with that game and I am very good at this game. The way you hit the dot, eat the dot, you complete the level. Easy enough...

Yeah, it was my first arcade game I played as well.

My favorite arcade game is Galaga. I also like Centipede and Millipede, but Galaga is my favorite. It is so much fun and is really entertaining. It is simple, but not so simple that it is boring.

My most favorite classic arcade game is a tie between Pac-Man and Donkey Kong, because both arcade games are unique and fun and they really brought back a whole lot of memories.
