What will the reactions be?
LA riots?

It should result in a loss in sales.
A ..."few" youtube reviews that are less than pleasant.
And boost in sales for older games.

That should be the results.
I am not a "G.T.A." fan myself so I couldn't tell you the specifics.
Many game developers are not trending well either in practices or sales.

Many games come out with shorter time lengths. Less replay. And Overall less "bang for your buck" as compared to the previous gems of the past that everyone seems to remember for the past two or three decades.

The real question to ask would be.

If Developers know what sells and what gets loved?
Then why are they "short changing" the customers and trying to "nickel and dime" them to death with "D.L.C." and other gimmicks?
Same goes to character and story overhauls.

Though I am certain that "G.T.A.5" will be just as good as the previous hits.
If you are not careful as a consumer?
then you should expect to get burned.

It will be successful. And much like the last gta, it will probably be repetitive and boring.

Knowing the GTA series as a whole, It is absolutely impossible for it to not live up to the hype. If they re-textured GTA4 and gave you a customizable main character, then resold the game same story and all, nobody would even notice. All people really care about with the game is whether or not you can steal cars and blow crap up. Not that those are bad things to want in a game, it's actually rather fun when you get down to it, but GTA as a series has not changed much since they decided to give it a story. The story still ends up being the least liked thing about the game. Personally I would rather just have a 3D version of the older games where you rampage in a city for points.

So seeing as gamer's expectations don't seem very high for the game (Everyone is hyped simply because It's new and everybody else is gonna get it) it shouldn't have any negative effects if it isn't as great as everyone is saying because in reality it never is. People will still like it all the same after release.

GTA V is very popular right now, so I really don't see it not living up to the hype. It doesn't seem like such a bad game fro watching the trailer, and for newcomers to the series, it probably seems really fun. 

It's a really big sandbox world, which would provide endless entertainment to many people.

I myself am not really gonna buy it; I like the huge sandbox world and everything, but yeah, I really don't want to buy it. 

I would say I am neutral to these type of games - being the bad guy and all that stuff. 

To be honest,san andreas was the best cause of the depth and difficulty were 10/10.It became popular before the release.all what i want at the new gta is town 90+ missions.i mean like san andreas

So far the game has been pretty awesome we just have to wait and see what they do with the online play.

Cant afford it just right now and would not even have that much time for it. Just hope I don't hear too much spoilers before I finally do get my hands on it and get to play it with time.

Seriously though Gta will live up to it. No it wont live up to it actually it will overlap it with everything

People would still buy the game, they don’t judge the game by how it’s ranked (like 10/10 or 100/100) it’s mostly based on how the game is played, and even if it didn't get a 10 out of 10, a lot of people would still buy GTA V.

Personally none of them have since san andreas its just the same game over and over again just repackaged and sent out with a few new features just to get us to buy the game and then we play it and we go man its not as good as I though it would be and now I have this 63 dollar game that didn't meet my expectations and you don't know what to do with it so you ask a friend if he or she will buy and they say no because you told them what you thought of it and you ask them to see if any of their friends want and they too say no, so we are now back at square one. A game we have played for a couple hours and realized we have been hosed

From what I've heard, the storyline is the shortest since they started having stories in the game. There will be online to "make up" for the very short story but I see GTA trending just like every other franchise... Less offline and more online to make up for the lack of single player content.

Actually I hear fellow students talk about this game all the time those that have purchased it of course so I believe it has lived up on its hype here not worldwide though.

Well it'll just be a disappointment . I am not getting it but the trailer looks cool and I think it will... but all those GTA V fans would probs want their money back or just get really pissed of :3
