Hello everyone I'm back again with another thread. So.....when I was very young I did enjoy anime but I started to realized, most of the ones you watch are based on real life. Let me explain what I mean by that.... for instance: (Naruto he was bullied and was pushed away by people but, that didn't stop him from showing the hidden village of what talents he had he sticked to his goal and to his quote and eventually they excepted him.) Many of us are like that so.....how does anime help you apart from the enjoyment? I say....I wouldn't have the little courage I needed, to help people because of that, to smile everyday....people find it hard to smile everyday but, I make sure I do and brighten up a person's day with my smile. And also to make friends as well I would never of imagine of making friends I...rather be alone but when I came to this site I was able to make friends who liked me for who I was. ^^ Anime I say has helped me to become the person that I am today....I'm still shy though but I will always help people in need no matter what.

So please give me some detail on how anime helped you to become a better person. ^-^

Well, Naruto thought me about the value of friendship, and having the strength and determination to keep going in rough times.

Naruto honestly was the only anime that had some important lesson and it influenced me the most to be honest while the other animes didn't really have any lessons to show.
Naruto just encouraged me to never give up no matter how hard things are there is still hope.

1) Naruto:
Naruto taught me about friendship and how far you should really go for it if it is worth it. Also convinced me that I should stay calm in all situations otherwise I would end up blacking out and killing a bunch of people.
2) Bleach:
Bleach taught me about sacrifice you should make for your family's survival. I have given up many things for my family and will continue to and to me Bleach kind of showed how you can turn a negative into a positive.
3) DBZ:
DBZ taught me just about everything from friendship to consequences to what it takes to protect something to making sure you never use your power unless you need to and to always give a fair warning before doing so. I grew up on this anime and I think because of it I turned into a better person.
4) Death Note:
This anime actually taught me about how even though you can do something right and protect billions of people you can still be thought of as an enemy to the world. I liked how the kid killed all the terrorists worldwide and everything but the way they took him down was just mean.

I must agree with what other people have said about Naruto. If you honestly watch the first couple of episodes, you will see lessons on team work, determination, all that lovely stuff. Even in the episodes airing now, it still shows the same lessons, and Naruto personifies that to a high extent, so it's kinda hard to miss it.

Lots of other anime teach usually the same thing: honor, determination, respect, friendship, etc.
There are some animes out there however, that do teach things, but are rather perverted and inappropriate lessons. Stay away from those.

So all in all, when you watch anime, look for the metaphors and hidden meanings, because there are many things that may personify an ideal or life lesson.

Honestly there is a lesson to be learned from every good story, Not just from Anime like Naruto for instance. Every story that is at least half decent has a good deal of psychology to pay attention to, And trust me, There is a lot you can learn from psychology if you know what to look for, Psychology is basically uhh.. How should I put it? The essence of your psychological build. It's everything about you, Who you are, How you think, What has happened to you, How you'll act, And every (Almost every.) story has its own characters with their own lives and pasts, So I believe there is plenty you can learn from Anime and Manga, As well as most other stories.

The fun part is figuring out which lessons are true and which are false, And what's right and what's wrong if there is even such a thing as right or wrong.

Eniitan : One example of a story you can learn something from is "Through the eyes of another pony", All stories have some good psychology you can pay attention to and learn a good deal from, Not just Anime. The information is next to endless when it comes to that.

DAMN, didn't realize this was the Naruto Fan Club. Jokes aside, Anime (And other forms of media that aren't just rubbish Drama's about who ends up with who in bed) have taught me a great deal of things. Since this is an anime thread I will stick to that but I will say, There are many other things that can teach you these lessons such as: Music, Movies, Books, Games (Hell, even Chess can teach us a few lessons) and Public Speakers. I know I could dig a few more out of my mind but I think I'll leave it at that.

In general, Anime teaches us a lot about every day life and different lessons to helps us make it through such as "Courage is the strength to move on, even when afraid" and "You will never get anywhere if you don't try out new things." A lot of people would look at phrases like these to be cheesy and "Fiction Philosophy" but in reality, if you think a little, these can be applied to simple every day things in our lives such as having the courage to ask for some help, or trying out a few things in the hope to get a few new hobbies.

I remember that the most important lesson Anime has ever taught me was "The situation could always be worse." This is a lesson that in all honesty means exactly what it says. Why mope around about losing your keychain when it could have been a family member, or your entire set of belongings? Why be sad that you aren't eating your favorite food every day when you could easily have to starve for weeks? Many times in our lives we get sad over the little things but never think about how much worse it could be, or have been. Though I can't say I practice this lesson always, and I still find myself moping about the little things now and again, it is still the most important lesson I have learned from anime today.

Special thanks to all the people who worked to create Angel Beats, the anime that taught me this lesson. Though it could have been longer, I was at least able to find some good reason to continue to care. And special thanks to you, Mr.guywhomadethisthreadbutitotallycan'trememberyournamesorry for making this thread to allow me to say this. And lastly thanks to any who actually read this long and scary looking set of paragraphs.

Most of the lessons I learned came to me when I saw a situation in reality. Standing up for your beliefs, when my own were questioned. Being able to depend on others when everything is falling apart. There are secrets that everyone keeps from one another in the world. And some less obvious ones, that are more or less norms of society that we don't even realize exist. Like asking "Why do Americans eat cheese curds at all?" We don't think about why we do what we do until someone asks the question, and being able to analyze why we do these things is my ultimate lesson from all forms of media, anime especially.

I love anime, but I never took any lessons to heart. In fact I'm almost the opposite to the lessons except to not be a total prick.
I learned that from one piece my favorite anime. Kinda wish I hadn't because of that I hate almost every person in my school.
I live in Missouri one of the less tolerant states in America with the stupidest people.

Well most Animes have some morals in them like say ... Garfield ... When I watched I learned not to be too un grateful cuz you might just lose what you have. Also I learned to think things through when they all got stuck in that tree with the dog barking at Garfeild , Oddie , John and a Fireman.

Anime pretty much taught me a bunch of stuff like the value of friendship, staying strong during tough times, and standing up for what I believe in. I also got a little courage from the anime I have seen, and I got a little braver than before.

MAN I always get these wrong . I have to look up the meaning for Anime before making posts. And I think Pokemon is an Anime? Please ? It teaches me to respect your friends because they can be really valuable later on in life.

It doesn't actually, but I find it funny when anime pokes fun at real life events or gives some sort of lesson. For example, Code Geass really hits on the fact that being the strongest mind is more powerful than having the most physical power.
