Honestly I have played all of the games and they were all great. But I have 3 favorites and they are from the same generation. The generation is Hoen: Ruby, Sapphire, and Emerald. These three games were my favorite because of the add on's like the 2 different bikes you get and the fact that they brought back the move waterfall but made it into an HM and they came out with the move dive. All the Pokémon were pretty balanced except Swampert which was a pretty OP Pokémon but every game has a couple of those 

I agree with you and goodboy. Gen III is the best. However, reviews have to be over 100 words. They are supposed to be filled with a lot of detail and info about the game. My fave is Gen III as well, although I have fond memories of Crystal Version.  Emerald version was just so well designed, and it added a ton of new features.  I probably logged over 300 hours in Crystal Version, and over 75 in Emerald.

Ha ha ha. Yeah I remember when I had a Crystal version. I think I did the same.

I think there might be a thread like this but oh well. Anyways my favorite Pokémon game has to be Pokémon sapphire.

It seems to me that the third Gen is the best Gen according to everyone else

Pokémon Yellow is my favorite Pokémon game, because it lets me get Charmander, Bulbasaur, and Squirtle. ^.^

I like Emerald because it is a tad bit more challenging than Ruby/Sapphire. I like the whole Team Magma AND Team Aqua mix into the story, not just one Team but both.
The Battle Frontier was a nice addition and still keeps me entertained and challenged.

My favorite is Pokemon Leafgreen. It is a super fun game for me and I love it more then the rest of the Pokemon games.

I like pokemon Black 2 for video games, and pokemon crystal for retro games. Both of them are pretty good, with a nice region and nice pokemon. Overall, I like Crystal more than Black 2, I have not played Black 2 since Feburary. I can live without it and my DSi. Vizzed is my life, nothing else matters to me, not a lot.

This is a very tough question because most gamers who were into Pokémon started with different generations as far as the games. For example I went from the cards to the show to my first game being Pokémon Crystal.

As time goes on and more titles come out the franchise makes a big point to keep offering more and more since Pokémon games are classified as RPGs and games in those categories are supposed to take a while to beat especially the Final Fantasy series who are known to take 20-50 hours each to beat depending on the game and whether or not you use a walk through.

So knowing that the Pokémon franchise as far as games try to add more and more not just graphics and game play but the actual different things you can do in games which is why legendary Pokémon keep upping in each generation if you have not noticed so it takes longer to beat each game fully. Pokémon Emerald is in my opinion the one game that truly pushed Pokémon into an upward direction with add ons and what you could do and how battle scenes looked and in game sprites which was incredible for the console. Also I think Pokémon Stadium was a game that truly pushed the franchise up as well because of the fact that it was in 3D and also because handheld games at the time were losing its edge which the franchise was actually able to adapt to very well.

So the question as you can tell is the type of question that is really similar to asking "What was your first handheld Pokémon game you ever played?" because most gamers will in fact say how the first game they played is their favorite game of all time.

By the way mine is Ruby just because that was the very first game that I actually went all the way with. Believe it or not I never fully beat Crystal version because I had like a lv.65-70 team and I did not want to challenge the final boss which after a while I realized I never beat it and quickly battled and actually won despite my low leveled Pokémon.

Anyways I would like to input. I would also say that my favorite pokemon game(s) would be, Pokemon Emerald, Pokemon Firered, and if I can include hacks ill only say 4 of them. Pokemon Light Platinum, Pokemon Ultra Violet, Pokemon Burning Ruby, and Pokemon Flora Sky.
