Yes several times I do feel a bit guilty when that occurs but I don't really care.

It becomes quite obvious when you are the first to report a major news story like the "Boston Marathon Event".
Then after a month the thread is closed due to popularity of other reporters?

Honestly I don't think I killed a thread judging by the ways you stated here but I have caused threads to get closed by mods by summoning them to spammy threads and posts that dont say much and or game reviews.So in that sense yes I have caused a thread to get closed so I guess I have killed a thread in that way.
