Now, usually when watching a Youtube video, you will notice that at the end they always say to subscribe. But who do you actually subscribe to. I'm not looking for the channel names, but I mean more like do you subscribe if you want to see more of them? Or just when you see one video that you like? What does it take to make you subscribe? Also, a little side question. How often will you want to get email alerts when there is a new video uploaded to that channel?

   I don't really subscribe to people myself. I usually just end up finding them again. But even if I do subscribe, I don't want to get email alerts, because I'll easily find it myself.

I am only subbed to 4 chvannels that do gameplays of mostly pokemon games and stuff like that and to vizzed and david's channel and thats about it. I don't sub to too much because I end up with 1,000 emails and it is annoying and not worth it so I don't sub to too much.

I have 200+ subscriptions, which I watch everyday.

I subscribed to TWD98, codeius, officialPSY, and a bunch of others that will take forever to explain. Yes, TWD98 uploads mkwii videos which I watch..

I have around 200 subscriptions as well. Most of them are probably either comedy/sketch guys, cartoonists, or Let's Players, mostly duos in commentators, like SGBLikesToPlay or BrainScratchComms. Something like that.

I subscribed to one of my freinds on vizzed, Nothing good from him yet,
I also watch "wiiviewr" a Wii Game Reviewer, I loved his jokes and ways that he reviewed to see if we should by the game or not.
I liek MUDKIPZ Text to speech voices, but those things are just getting old. I subscribed to that nkrs200. So crazy.
I also like music, but i dont subsribe to anyone on VEVO as there are to many artists.

patar4097 : I subscribe to AntVenom, Chuggaconroy, xRpMx13, BajanCanadian, and TobyGames. There isn't really much to it. I don't want to overload my subscriptions, plus there isn't much decent youtubers in my opinion. 

I have subscribed to many Youtube channels on my account.

Here are some of my reasons:

I watch their videos frequently
They have a hilarious or awesome video
They are a friend of mine

A Youtube channel can get me to subscribe if the 1) have quality video either comical or informational 2) I notice myself revisiting their channel frequently or 3) they have prizes and offers to their subscribers and a good prize or two never hurts

Content content content. If they post stuff that I don't want to miss, I subscribe, and that's it. No begging at the end of the video, and in fact annotations kind of turn me off. But if a content creator is interesting, consistent, and funny or educational, then I'm more prone to subscribe.

Lazlo Falconi : I agree with that, though I like Tobuscus's little jingle at the end of every video: "do do do do do do do do do, Subscribe!"

What makes me subscribe is the ability to watch all the new videos and the ability to watch all the old videos without having to go find it taking a lot more time to find them 

I subscribe to someone if:

-I know him/her
-He/She is active, posting video's daily or every two days, or if he/she has a plan on when he/she uploads stuff
-I like to watch his/her video's
-They can keep me coming back to watch them

Most people I subbed to are LP'ers or people I know. As the side question, for some reason, I only get one email each week. In that email they tell me everything my subscriptions have uploaded/liked/whatever they have done that week. So instead of a bunch of mails, I get one big one each week.

I only sub if they have- 



at least 20 videos
at least 10 subs
I know the person
They make at least 5 funny videos (duh, smosh)

I like WWE, a educational youtube channel (learn creepy things as well). And runescape.

I usually subscribe to a channel if I like the majority of the content on it.

I will subscribe to a YouTube channel if the videos on it are appropriate and I think they're all really good. I wouldn't want to get e-mail alerts because I usually just look on YouTube a lot myself.

Damn some of these people with 200+ subs? How do they get to work/school and somehow still have time to watch all that content, and on top of that still have relationships with their friends.

Anyway on to the issue of the thread, I subscribe only to those which interest me in some way. My first subscription ever was Vash12349 and he was also the first LPer I was ever interested in. To this day I have actually found the time to watch every one of his older videos as well as most of the newer content.

Usually if people send me videos and advertise their channel I will automatically not want to bother however if they are sincere and don't come across as spammy then I'll give them a check. I subbed to a few in this regard such as JSoundHysteria.

As I said before the content has to be interesting to me such as funny commentary, good music, or something pertaining to my personal interests and hobbies. These are just a few reasons for me to sub but I will never sub to someone who is only on youtube in an attempt to make subs for the attention and not for the fun. I believe you should never try and become youtube famous, it should be a happy surprise.

I go through my channel list every week and unsubscribe as much as I subscribe through the week.
Normally I just wrote everything down to avoid that.
Now?
Most of the stuff I thought was cool has only 13 to 100 videos on their channel and has no new updates anyway.
So, I opt for just subscribing anyway now.

The few who do post new stuff regularly? Have about 100,000 subscribers anyway. I do not need to advertise anything.

Ten minutes or four minutes is hardly a bother and could kill a good handful of seconds when you have them.

If there is a ton of music videos? I keep them.
If there is any political stuff? I tend to drop them.
Seriously. I'm almost afraid to recommend checking out books at the library now with all of the crap on the news.

Funny, amusing content that truly deserves it. I never subscribe to friends. I only subscribe to Youtubers who truly deserve it and those who can amuse without saying "SUBSCRIIIBBEEEE" every two minutes. Fine at the end, but not throughout the video.
