Sigh...Another School year came to a close to open another one. My seventh grade year ended on a note of controversy and anger. I noticed a running trend in my school year that makes me REALLY upset. I am a student who gets mostly As and Bs in each subject, I can be asked for help for almost any topic! I am also a pretty decent Artist and Craftsman. I have made and showed off me making a matching Cardboard Master sword and Hylian Shield along with the Heaven's Gate from EBF along the year for school projects. I don't like bragging, I don't like hurting others, I can control myself, I do the right things, but I still get barely any respect on Campus! When I play my DS with my friends on the Bus, some Neanderthals behind me try to turn it off because they want too! I don't turn off their iphones when they're playing temple run! Why do I get punished! I am also some what bullied by teachers as well, and it's over petty things such as not liking a certain song or something! I eventually reached my breaking point in P.E. Whenever some one is against me in P.E they slouch it off and count me a nothing. If I catch the foot ball, they don't want me to throw it because I am not the strongest guy around! I have gotten so upset that after about 5 days of Speculation, it hit me. To be respected on my turf, you have to be a bad kid who gets in trouble a lot, follows the crowd, is somewhat athletic, and mistreats stand al ones like me. In fact, some of the bad kids already smoke marijuana or paper on my bus or threatened to stab some one on school grounds! Some people held year-long grudges on me just because I gave a little fair criticism or I because I don't follow them. At least I have the confidence to stand alone in this crowd of people who won't get any where in life with their attitudes. I am actually doing an Experiment this summer about this issue. I am going to gain more muscle and more of an athletic boost this summer and return to school to see what they think of me or what they used to think of me. If they like me more, it will prove the Biased school society I have been describing now. The main overall question that I made this Thread for, do you have a similar problem in your campus? Do they accept you for who you are like a mature person would, or are they the low judgemental immature crowd that no one really likes? =============> BTW *IMPORTANT*!!!!!<============= This goes out to Moderators. I assumed this thread might belong here because it's school related. If this thread doesn't belong here and belongs on a "Post about myself topic or etc.", please tell me and I will try to move it as soon as possible with out questions. Yeah, most of them just act stupid and immature by bullying others everyday to get their dumb attention. I am really going to dread the next few years of high school, the students are so horrible and the only thing they care about are the dumb fights at school. So they basically swear, wear ugly clothes and act inappropriate in class all the time to get their popularity, their attention and it just helps them look cool. The worst parts for me are the bus rides, I hat them and I don't even want to think about school anymore and how horrible it is going to be next year especially with all of the lame freshman I know who are going to act even worse than this year's freshman. Ah well, I am going to not think about school and continue enjoying my summer vacation. |

They get popular if they act stupid and show off to the girls some even pick on kids a grade below them I find that to be very wrong though so I stand up against them. |

People at my school get respect by being chill and not letting anyone belittle you or talk down to you(including the teacher). You can also earn respect by fighting people you don't like instead of going and reporting them to your guidance counselor like a panzee or talking about them behind your back, or you can throw wild parties or get alot of females(if your a guy), if your a girl same rules apply except the one about getting alot of females(no that does not mean get alot of guys) also if your a girl you can get respect by being beautiful. |

Being that your in middle school, I must point out that kids at your age are struggling with several things at once: puberty, self-discovery and trying to adapt to the changing times as things drastically change from the time your in elementary to the time you reach high school. Those who are having a difficult time with adjusting usually lash out at people like you who seem to have figured it out. My advice to you is to take the blows as they come as the rocky seas will settle down eventually and those with a high moral character and values will come out on top in the end. In other words, keep doing what you've been doing and don't stoop to their level: aka Be yourself. |

Well at my college (age 16-18 so usa school age) you get respected for any number of things, it could be because you are funny, smart athletic, skilled gamer or anything so long as you put effort into what ever you do people will like you for it. I think I am lucky to be at a place like this because in a lot of places you need to have money and be the centre of all things social which is normally a closed circle. |

I don't see many, almost any fights at my school. I am in ninth grade and many seem to sorta respect me, so, just as long as you don't feel high above anyone else and are not EXTREMELY ANNOYING, you will get your respect. P.S. I don't hang out with those "dumb" kids, I don't want my A+ average in all subjects combined to fall. |

I only get respected if I'm one of the people that's good at absolutely everything, if I bully people, or if I constantly fool around in school. To give you an idea of how unpopular I am, I only have two friends that hang out with me outside of school and they're not even from the same school as me. So I always am excited about summer vacation at first, but then I end up being alone without friends over more than half of the summer because both of my outside-of-school friends don't get to hang out with me very often anymore. |

Well, at my school, some people are really nice and respectful while others are really stupid and immature. Usually there are also some teachers that are horrible to students, even if the student is nice or bad to the teacher. I'm usually friends with the good kids in my class and I would try to avoid the dumb and immature ones. Also I would try my best to avoid the horrible teachers in my school before they would start trouble with me or else I would be the one to be in trouble because I'm a student while the one who is acting dumb is the teacher... |

Being in south, the easiest way to get respected in high school or college is to play football! When you're part of the football team, nobody even thinks to mess with you. High school went by in a flash for me. I was also in the ROTC program for all four years, just like I was for football. And I definitely thought that nobody messes with the ROTC program, and if you did, then you got yelled at. High school was such a blur for me because nobody messed with me. I didn't get into any fights and neither did any of my friends, but I got to watch a couple. |

The people at my school I used to go to, the students are pretty much back and forths, some of them are respectful, and others are a pain in to you know where. With me, I was one of the popular ones and I'm not sure why I was so popular. |

What you should do/be to be popular: Funny Smart Kind Extremely good at something What you shouldn't do/be to be popular: Super loud Annoying Rude Dull Unattractive to them (If you are seen as unattractive the opposite gender will treat you like you have a disease if you don't have one of the positives. I don't like this.) Out of those I can be funny, I'm seen as the smartest, they say I'm very fast at running. However I also can be dull at times and some people treatED in a way that suggests I'm somewhat unattractive. I'm a little popular in my class but disliked by most people in the other class i my year/grade. The rest of the school overlook me. I still like the way you are judged in my school except how being unattractive can and most likely will automatically make you unpopular. Sadly many people at my school are disrespected either because they do drugs or just don't try in school. Even though might be addicted or just don't care doesn't mean you should treat them differently. |
