I find myself noticing the time at certain points of the day..and if the time display is sequential (12:34) it makes me laugh. And not only do I notice it, but I suffer from the overwhelming compulsion to blurt it out and make sure everyone else knows it as well. Like it's the coolest thing ever, whoooot! HAH HAH so funny...

I think I might have a problem. XD

What do you guys think? Is this something you've ever done? Am I just weird? Is it a side-effect of too much medication? (probably.....)

hahaha! I don't know anyone else who does that! 


Edit: Now that I think of it ... I do that too! :o I thought it was pretty weird at first but I just got used to it and couldn't stop doing it..

I actually do the same thing sometimes! I notice it a lot, but I don't usually say anything about it out loud. I don't know if it's bad or not. But I'm sure others don't appreciate it.  XD

Though if you want a new ritual that is good mental practice? In case Talking out loud and saying the time to no one is too odd for you.
Then I suggest picking up a book on "Numberology" and flexing the simple math muscles.
Helped me with my reading adds out loud when no one was around to hear them. I could read anything and not speak a word. But when I see an add I had to say it out loud. Kinda was a gag with me and my buds when I was a kid. (It works on occasion in the break room with co-workers, But less and less these days.) One would read an Add out loud with either a hint of confusion or mocking tone. Then a second who is familiar with the product would chime in afterward with another add by the same product or finish the "tag-line." Often this second one was a pure Mocking tone.
The End Results usually ended up in a good Laugh for everyone in the room.

Another Hobby I picked up was handwriting analysis. If I am stuck in an office and there are framed documents? I Check out the signatures along with the Letters of recommendation.
You would be suprised what you can learn from a persons handwriting. (It defeats Boredom and gives a person something to do other than snoop around in the drawers like a person might be compelled to do if they are left there for a long period of time.

I don't think you have a problem, I think that you are just a little over excited about minor details in things like the 12:34 on the clock. My friends get that way all the time and I think it is normal. I think that you should just relax a little and that it is no big deal to worry about. Just do what orionfoxgibson said, just notice other little details to distract you from noticing things like that, or better yet go into more detail with the study of math and just go on from there. I certainly don't think you have a serious problem or anything, I think you just are a little excited that's all. Hope this helps!

It's not weird at all to notice that the digits in the time readout are in chronological order (Ex. 1:23, 2:34 and etc). What strikes me as weird and may lead others to think there is something wrong with you is excitedly blurting it out loud. I have always been fascinated by math and numbers and I notice when the digits showing the time on a digital clock are in order, but I don't annoy people or give them the impression that I am off my rocker by blurting it out loud every time it happens. Perhaps you should just focus on practicing some restraint and don't blurt out the time just because the numbers are sequential. Just a piece of helpful advice, I hope.

That's really weird. I haven't seen anybody else do that kind of thing before. When reading your post it was easy for me not to laugh or smile. I'm a very serious guy most of the time.

I once took of my Odometer in the car because it was perfectly in sequence. But I just think it's cool. I don't laugh or have to share it with everyone.

Hahah. I don't think it's abnormal to notice, but if you see it be like 11:11 and you just start cheesing out and about wet yourself from laughing, then start calling all your friends to let them know, I think that'd be pretty weird.

I always notice those things and it's always just a "Oh hey, look at that." I also add the numbers together separately and stupid stuff when I'm bored to see what they add up to, but I've never gotten so tickled about anything regarding the time that I laughed out loud. The thought of doing it makes me laugh a little, though.

I used to do that all the time... At least 5 times during the day. But what's kind of weird is that some days, the ONLY time I would like at a clock, it would be something like 3:33 or 12:34.

That's pretty funny. It's a little weird to blurt it out though. I usually just laugh to myself if I notice something like that.
