In a way it kinda is, mostly what do you expect with a video that was watched a billion times on Youtube.
So pretty much I have to say that it's a little too gimmicky.

Yeah, "Gangnam Style" is really stupid. I can't believe it got a billion views on YouTube. I'm really mad at some people these days since only the really stupid, inappropriate, or videos that make no sense get the most popular. I used to have a YouTube channel and since I kept everything appropriate and I wanted everyone to not post mean comments, my videos only got 5 views per month AT THE MOST. So I got so mad and I closed my YouTube account. It's like everyone was purposely ignoring it.

I still don't understand why it has so many views. Why? And how?
I prefer 'Gentlemen' more than Gangnam style.

I don't see why it is so popular on youtube, honestly it looks stupid and pointless. I don't know why everyone in my school talk about this song and they all have it on their Ipod, I have only listened to this song maybe 1 time and I think it is weird and dumb. I don't really understand the language or anything they say. Why it is so popular? I have no idea, I guess people will listen to any stupid song that comes on the radio these days, especially all the inappropriate ones. This song came on my bus the other day and everyone started screaming over it and I just put my head down and pulled on my hoodie waiting for the dreaded bus ride to be over...so yes I think it is very weird and gimmicky 

Flame me now but honestly I do like the song and I won't deny it but I hate that it's catchy xD. 

-I don't mind it's in another language, there's nothing wrong with that.
-Even if it could be considered 'hard' (I don't but..)
it's no better than other hip hop dances people come up with (Bernie....Dougie...).

But I do agree that it got much more attention than it really should have.

It is overrated yes. At first it was a good song and still is with loud speakers. But it got over used and i now don't like gangnam style normally. 

I avoided the trend originally, but eventually I watched the video and actually found one with an English translation. The song itself I find rather interesting since it is a social commentary about society in Seoul, particularly the Gangnam district. You really can't get away with that in South Korea, but he did, because the song hit big in the United States due to a catchy tune.

The stupidity of the video itself is just because of how the music industry in South Korea works... apparently you don't have that much freedom in making your music videos there if you want it to actually be seen on television.

That said, I think the video is gimmicky on purpose, and I think the obsession of idiotic Americans who don't actually know what the song itself is even talking about is annoying as hell. It takes ten extra seconds to add "with translation" to a YouTube search on the video. If my lazy butt can do it, why can't anyone else?

I hate this trend, it came when I was at school and then suddenly Harlem Shake came, I was glad everyone wasn't on Harlem Shake.
Then the next day everyone is like "Gangnam style sucks!!! ITZ aboutz Horlem shaaake YOLO"
I hate my school, seriously.
It's filled with kids who jump on the bandwagon and when the bandwagon dies they jump onto the next one.

Hate Gangnam style who can hate it is a bunch of people doing a goofy dance and singing a song in uh not sure what language it was sung in.
