A short list of characters who are known for their super speed. Simply choose. Pretty much no criteria here. You can vote based on who you think is the fastest, who you like the best, etc.

I know there are many super fast characters out there, so I can't really include them all. Sorry.

My one rule here is at least give me some reason for your pick. Don't just make a post stating who you picked. Looking for reasoning here.

I would love to see these all in a race. Maybe someone could make a flash of it.
I chose Sonic as according to the song he's "Rolling around at the speed of sound" which is pretty bloody fast. (and questionable why you can hear him)

Okay I know for a fact that sonic can hit supersonic speed when he runs which is the fastest out of all of them. Quicksilver can reach 175 mph at his fastest which does not compare to the speed of sound and light. These would be great in a race, it would be cool to see how they would compete against each other, of course I know Sonic would win it hands down. He can go really fast for really long periods and he never gets tired. I would like to see him go against Shadow who is just as fast as him and he can fly at the speed of light when he is in his super form so I think it would be cool to see.

For the fastest runner, without a doubt, I have to say Sonic is the fastest runner. the reason, after looking at the other choices all one by one, I can pretty much say that Sonic can pretty much out-run them all.

Razor-987 : the speed of sound and speed of light are completely different things. Sonic can travel a little faster than the speed of sound. Not light. 

I disagree with everyone's logic here. People keep saying Sonic and referencing the speed of sound thing. I have to go with the Flash. He can run so fast that he can pass through objects without damaging them. The atoms making up his body move so quickly when he runs that they simply phase right past the atoms of a wall. Even Super Sonic ends up bashing into/through a wall. Also, the Flash can move so fast that he overcomes the pull of time and gravity (time is a concept based on gravitational pull) allowing him to travel back/forward in time. According to Einstein, traveling at the speed of light would overcome the Univers's gravitational pull just to the point to where time would stop to you, but everything else around you is still going. For time travel to actually be possible by a matter of speed alone, you would have to travel even faster than that. So that means the Flash could run faster than the speed of light since he can travel in time, which is 671,000,000mph. Sonic only travels faster than the speed of sound, which is only 768mph

Nowhere did I see Sonic run so fast that he could phase through walls or travel through time itself, meaning the flash would whip him, spread him on toast, and eat him for breakfast.

I like how 99% of us picked Sonic... simply because that's probably the only one we can really relate to nowadays.

Maybe if they had more games with these other characters, then I would have picked one of them... but instead, I'll choose sonic.

SacraRain : Yeah. I know I put it on my first post that it can be based on anything, but I was hoping some people (other than myself) would put more logic into their choices other than 'I love Sonic games = Sonic is the fastest".

rcarter2 : Well, I was thinking of choosing Road Runner... but I honestly don't remember anything about the Looney Tunes anymore, last time I watched any of those was like... 6 years ago or something.

I would think it would be a close battle between The Flash and Sonic.  I think they would be going about the same speed until Sonic gets a chaos emerald and goes light speed.  If he doesn't get a chaos emerald, then it would be a very close race.  My bet would have to go with Sonic though.

MoblinGardens : Except Sonic was never reported to be able to truly travel at light speed (even as super sonic). Sonic only goes a little faster than 768mph. The Flash, on the other hand, can travel faster than the speed of light without the aid of anything.

rcarter2 : Oh, I didn't know that.  In that case, I guess The Flash would be able to win in a straight out running race.

 I love Sonic but the Flash wins, no contest. I could list all the ridiculous powers he has but I'll just drop this here. He ran so fast he outran his own death.

Really I had no idea that changes everything I hate to admit it but the flash is the fastest and it has been proven so yeah I really wish I didn't choose Sonic now I can't withdraw my vote but aw well.

austipokedude : Don't worry bout it. It really doesn't have to be on who is fastest. The vote can literally be based off of anything.
