Pretty simple question really. I started thinking about this earlier, while reading a review for Super Mario 64. Now that was an amazing launch title. In my opinion, is one of the best games to date kama let alone launch titles. I would also have to nominate Luigi's Mansion for the GameCube, if I'm not mistaken, that was a launch title as well. But in my opinion, Super Mario 64 takes the cake on this one.

I feel one of the best lauches goes to the PlayStation for the game WipEout. I love that game so much. Toshinden was pretty good as well. While neither of these match up anywhere near to the games that came later, they still hold pretty strong. Obviously WipEout holds out stronger.

GenesisJunkie : The thing is, Sonic 2 was, while a pack in game, not a launch title. I can't believe you did not feel the need to comment on the fact that your user picture is also Altered Beast.

tails the fox : I really didn't think anything about my picture when I was posting but this is a good point and yes I know Sonic 2 was not a launch title I just go off subject a little.

I think that the Sega Genesis had the best launch. Numbers may prove me wrong though. 

I don't think you could beat Super Mario 64 for launch titles, but I believe Super Mario World was one as well. It might have been a pack in game, like Wii Sports was, but maybe not.  Super Mario 64 DS was also a release title, so there's something.

GenesisJunkie : Actually I didn't know that Altered Beast was a launch title. Of course I didn't really know any launch titles before the n64, which might make my choice of Super Mario 64 as the best launch title to date, seem a little less significant, but realize that it's also one of my favorite games of all time, period. So that is still saying alot, especially for a launch title, since they are known for being less than amazing. lol

Eirinn : Another one of the most classic of Nintendo 64 games was also a launch title. I am sure a lot of you remember Pilotwings 64.

tails the fox : I remember it, I never played it myself, but I'm planning to. I heard alot of bad about it, but I really won't believe it until I play it myself. Apparently you don't think it's so bad, so that gives me a little more hope for it.

Eirinn : Don't get your hopes up too much. I have only played the SNES version. I have no idea if the 64 version is good. I would just assume so because the SNES version was. But do play and tell me if it actually is any good.

G@mehe@d : 5. Gyromite, Kun Fu, and Hogans Alley were not too impressive.

3. I do believe this was at the beginning of Rayman's decline? With the first of many progressively worse Rayman games. Ridge Racer is rather standard.

3DS, It's games are in my opinion amazing.

Super Mario World has gotta be my pick. Nothing else comes close in my eyes. But thats just a personal choice I guess. Not that a lot of other people wouldnt say the very same thing, but I digress.

I have to say that Super Mario World have one of the best launching titles.

I can not remember exactly but I think "Playstation 2" had a whole bunch of games with it's launch. I remember really wanting one for a long time till I was turned onto the first x-box. I think the game that held my interest was Matal Gear Solid 2. (It did go to x-box and again on the 360 but that is way off topic.)

I can not remember. It has been too long and I never had a Playstation 2. But I remember feeling like I was missing out on the new stuff till I got my X-box. (I just got a ton of old Playstation 1 games. Gundam games, Street fighter Alpha 3, Capcom vs S.N.K., MegaMan X 4,5, and 6, Final Fantasy 1-5 remakes, and a slew of others. The Playstation 1 had so many games I could not get enough. Plus after the Playstation 2 came out? The price was right. Ten bucks a pop on most. 20 for the big hits. Those were the days.)
Like I said before.
So many were hungry for the playstation 2 that they bailed on their playstation 1 library with out looking back period. I even got a copy of "Dino Crisis" for cheap. Everyone wanted to be "Upgraded".

So, to answer the question? I have to go with Playstation 2 and what ever it was that it launched with. I wanted Metal Gear 2 (Even though it is not the best out of the series.).

Wii was supposed to have two great launch titles but both unfortunately were delayed they both were metroid prime 3 corruption and super smash bros brawl but there was a remake launch title that was legend of Zelda twilight princess which is a great game but of course the best launch title would have to be super Mario 64.

Definitely super Mario 64. that was and still is an amazing game. while i dont play it as much now, i used to play it all the time.

austipokedude : Oh yeah, Twilight Princess was epic. I wasn't aware it was a launch title, but I can't imagine playing it on a wii. Had it been a Game Cube launch title, I would have picked it as one of the best, if not the single best.

orionfoxgibson : I can identify with the MGS 2 comment. I practically drooled on my PSM when I saw the announcement that an MGS 2 was being developed. lol I never did get to play it though.
