Hi I was just wondering if you guys beat new games fast, or slow. I try to beat games as slow as I can, for example I would only play 2 missions a day in the new Sly Cooper game, so it took me a month to beat it. I beat games slowly because I want to savor them, to me I don't really get why you would want to beat a 65 dollar, in a day or a few days, just seems like a wast of money. Anyway I was just wondering how fast or slow you beat games.

Depends how much fun I'm having. If I really enjoy the game, I finish it pretty quickly. The reason being I don't like to stop playing as long as I'm enjoying it and I have spare time for gaming.

I would enjoy every level, e.g i will explore everything, look at the backdrops and characters, examine the weapons or equipment lying around etc. If its good anyway. I like to enjoy it and get the full value of the game. If i play it a 2nd time i wont be so slow.

Android89 : Depends on the reason I'm playing. I'm playing Earthbound and I'm doing it pretty slowly because I want to check every room and grind as well.

Honestly?
If it takes me more than a week I get into it and just enjoy it.
Many times it will only take me a week or two.
Then I check the game time logged in and find that the hours were far less than I expected. (Probably due to meal breaks, or life breaks, or smoke breaks.)
The amount of time it takes to play is one thing.
The times in your schedule you are going to have that time allotted to you is another matter altogether.
If the game is really bore inducing? It would take me months. ("Dynasty Warriors.")
If the game is really funny (..."Lollipop Chainsaw". First thing that comes to mind.)
It normally only goes for a week.
Fighting games are solid weekends unless you count the extra modes like Soul Caliburs Tower of Lost Souls, or Weapon Master, Or D.O.A.'s Tag Team Battle, ant other modes.
Games that go for 100 hours? (Final Fantasy.)
I normally do not play anymore. (I see no reason why the word "Grind" needs to be equated to games and not just a funny dance step that went out with the 90's.)

This can vary with me if I am enjoying the game I will spend every free moment I have playing it, So I beat it rather quickly.
If however it doesn't grab my attention as much as other games I take my time to beat it playing other games in between
Thou I tend to re play the game again right after I beat it anyway to do any side stuff I might have missed and enjoy any extra content that I may have unlocked for beating the game.

While it partly depends on other commitments, I generally tend to be pretty slow when it comes to beating new games. Games that I find really addictive are the ones I finish quickest especially if they're on a handheld (since they're easier to pick up and play at any moment) but seriously I can leave games for months on end and not think to complete them!

I guess I'm pretty slow at beating games. For some reason I can't even name one Rareware N64 game that I've beaten. I try to be as fast as possible.

I beat them slow and make sure I didn't miss anything in the game such as unlockables that is why it usually takes me more then three weeks just to beat one game but it is worth it if I beat it too fast I would have nothing to play for a few weeks or even months.Thats why I hate short games which usually take me about a week to beat such as the all new pokemon mystery dungeon gates to infinity.

If I am enjoying myself, whether I am any good at the game or not, I will keep playing until I finish. I will feel less need to finish a game, whether I enjoy it or not if it is too easy. If I really hate a game, I will likely not finish it.

I depends on the game, if its something like the original Sonic, and Mario. I beat those in about 30-45 minutes. If its a modern game, I usually beat them in about 3 days to a week.

There are certain games were I go back and collect all the secrets, but I can't really help beating games fairly quickly. I guess I got spoiled by Sonic.
