So I don't know if anyone posted about this, but Google has been working on a new piece of technology that is kinda like...well, let's say it's a smartphone/camera/computer on your glasses or face. They call it the Google Glass and apparently it is like a device that can be attached on your face and you can take pictures/video, have google hangouts, research something, organize life, etc. All on your glasses and it is summoned through voice activation. These are things that you would think would appear in sci-fi movies, but they will be available to the public some time this year for 1500 dollars.

What do you guys think? Are these things going to sell? Can we say the phrase "the future is now"?

Eh, I'm not too excited about this. I'm actually rather unhappy to see the development of something like it. I don't really know why, it's just the type of futuristic tech stuff that I've always disliked. No real reason.

Either way though, it looks pretty amazing, honestly. It's only a shame that I wouldn't be able to afford it at all.

Honestly the don't look like they are that much.
They honestly just look like bad looking glasses...
I would also say they would probably have negative effects on your sight so... yeah

I'm sort of interested in it, but there is no way that I can afford that. Besides, I'm not sure if they will be very good. But they do look cool if nothing else.

iN008 : I didn't really think of that, but yeah, it does seem like it could mess with your eyes. But my opinion on it is it looks like a good idea, even though the glasses themselves look pretty ugly. The main reason that I would not use (not buy, use) it is because it's Google. I'm sure they will monitor every movement you make, and privacy will be close to nothing with them. 

This seems legit. I don't see anything wrong with it.

That would be extremely useful to own but 1500 dollars.I'm sure not much people are gonna buy it probably only the extremely wealthy people will.

I think it might become somewhat popular but I'm sure lots of people are still going to stick with regular smartphones because of the huge price.

This does look interesting to have, but the price is going to be the only problem, I bet it'll cost like us$1,000 for a pair of them.
I can say, how it functions, I would, but cost wise, I won't be interested.

I have heard of this project by Google before. It was initially introduced to me by an Engineering class I took.

The glasses themselves are a most ingenious idea, and would fit well in today's market. However, as mohammedroxx3 pointed out, this would could be dangerous due to being a distraction while crossing streets. Proper precautions for this type of accident could be avoided by enhancing the technology to be aware of where streets are by way of its GPS, and automatically cut all program use while crossing a street and re-enable itself once across.

Regardless of the safety hazard, it is an extremely innovative piece of technology that should not be over looked, for it has many benefits in being one of the first widely public marketed HUD systems that is functional as a smart phone.

As a fan of these types of little gadgets, I hope to see more progress on this highly valuable equipment.

Google Glass is the next thing towards the "future" we have been seeing in those movies for at least 30 years. It's ridiculously stupid, but fuuuuutuuure gets us into buying it. Useful for specific situations, but besides that, useless.

This might be a very big hit, or it will receive a bunch of complaints. Either it will be one of the greatest, or one of the worst failing things. It looks very cool on the outside and so..

play4fun : I'd say the future has already started with this piece of hardware. This looks really advanced, but after looking at it a couple more times, it looks like a piece of glass taped to those wrist band you wear at an airport.
