Would it be possible to re-configure the spell-checker to retain personal preference data, so that the settings aren't cleared every time the cache is cleared? Also, there are a few select words specific to the site that the checker should automatically contain, such as Vizzed, RGR, VGR, etc. It would also be nice if there were a grammar correction tool in combination with the checker. Lastly, there are other places where the checker could be useful, such as the content pages, comments, and message replies.

I don't know...I never use the spellchecker myself. I personally think that it would be very easy to go on without these updates.

I actually forgot that this feature exusted, I thought that nobody used it.

I just tried it, and it has actually marked those words, which is a problem.

I don't think that there's much access to the filter, but, best if we ask David himself it it's possible.

Davideo7 : Bringing this to your attention.

Most browsers have their own built-in spell checkers, so it's really not so necessary to use the site one. If you use FireFox or Opera, it'll automatically red underline misspelled words in the same way Microsoft Word does. It's possible that Chrome and even IE do this by now.

Also browser-based spell-checkers can be modified at the user end to remember added words. I sort of doubt there would be a way to allow users to modify the Vizzed spell checker considering preferences would be site-wide for ALL users. How would you store a specific user's personal word preferences beyond a cache? It's not something that's feasible.

Davideo7 : Yeah, I understand. There are a lot of other priorities to be taken care of, and it's not a major feature of the site. I like the feature, though; it's useful for those of us who don't have checkers built into the browser. My computer only seems capable of running Internet Explorer, which I can't stand. I don't like Windows Vista; it's not very user-friendly or browser-friendly.

GuardianZack : Wait what...? So you're blaming Windows Vista for a bad computer?

I've used Vista pretty much since it came out and have always been able to run FireFox, Opera, Chrome, and even Safari if I wanted to (not that I ever would). How is it "not browser friendly?" It handles web browsers like any other OS. If your computer can only seem to run IE, it's your computer that sucks, not your Operating System.

I love the flaws on my spell checker. I type in words wrong all the time just to see what clears. It is quite amusing.
Plus I often will type things in correctly and the thing reads it as wrong anyway.
I love a device that does not work.
Technology.
The most expensive way to get a laugh.

Good Luck To All.
I'm done. Stick a fork in me.
Peace.
