What was the best game you've played in the year of 2012?

My personal favorite game of that year was either New Super Mario Bros II or Walking Dead: The Game.

They were both amazing, but Walking Dead felt more like a movie/show than a game, and Mario, like usual, seems to just repeat, so they're about equal in my mind.

Usually when posed with this kind of quest at the end of a year... I never have a real answer. It's a tough one and I'm usually behind on gaming so chances are, 90% of the games I played in a given year weren't released in that year... so I can't weigh in.

This time, the answer's easy. I still didn't play a lot of games released in 2012 last year... BUT I can name one that was so good, it will almost certainly trump any other games I play that was in the future. That game is Persona 4: Arena. It's just too awesome and such a well-made game to not deserve the honor.

It's finally getting to the time of year where all the big games are out and I can sit down and think for more than five minutes, so my thoughts are naturally turning from 2012's huge releases to the other stuff - the smaller, often more interesting games that have stuck in my mind as the months have gone by. Although I didn't get to play as many games this year as I would have liked I would have to say that my FAVORITE game of 2012 has to be Borderlands 2. A great combination of an FPS, RPG, and adventure game.

Funny and witty dialogue, great characters and perfect gameplay. If you haven't checked it out yet, you are missing out. It deserves all the praise it has gotten so far, and more. It's everything you want a sequel to be.

2012 was a huge disappointment for games in my opinion.
Nothing new came out that I though was fun. ( I mean pokemon black / white is new but the series isn't )
The only thing that I got and really liked was Kid Icarus Uprising as you can see by my layout.
My second would be Call of DutyBlack Ops 2.

I almost literally took the year off from playing games, so I missed out on a few. But I'd say my favorite game from 2012 is Faster than Light. It's a pretty simple Indie game, but it's well put together and a lot of fun. Even if I had managed to play a few more games, that one would still rank up there.

Another one I liked was Spelunky. It's a simple arcade game on Xbox Live, but it's a blast to play on multiplayer. I don't really know how to describe it, but if you have an Xbox and you haven't tried it yet, I definitely recommend giving it a look.

my favourite games of 2012 are most likely pokemon black 2, kid icarus uprising, new super mario bros.2, and kingdom hearts 3ddd.

I loved the story of kid icarus uprising and thought the online was great.
