You go to bed one night, and when you wake up the next morning, you discover certain sites are offline. You soon learn through the news or friends that they are gone forever.

How would you feel / react about each of these websites if they suddenly went offline, never to return:

- Amazon
- Bing
- Craigslist
- eBay
- Facebook
- Google (and everything related such as GMail and Google Maps)
- LinkedIn
- Twitter
- Vizzed
- Wikipedia
- Windows Live
- Yahoo!
- YouTube


For me, I wouldn't care if Bing, Craigslist, LinkedIn, Twitter, and Windows Live went down because I rarely to never use them. This also includes Facebook (everyone gasps that I am not on Facebook like the rest of the planet.)

Amazon and eBay are the most popular sales sites out there, but there are many more, so I could live without them.

YouTube, while fun, I could easily live without. I could also live without Vizzed (No offense. Don't hate me!) mainly because I really don't play many games, and I am not around and in deep enough to have made any close friends. Not that I would WANT to see it go, of course.

I use only Google search engine and use Google Maps a lot, so I wouldn't want to see it go. My longest-running e-mail accounts have been on Yahoo!, so I would prefer not to have to start over on another site.

But I would really hate to see Wikipedia gone. The site is an amazing example of people around the world being able to come together and create something centralized with a ton of information. Prior to its creation, you may have had to do 20 searches to find all of the answers you are curious about. Now it's all two clicks away.



What about you? Are there any sites not on this list that you don't think you could live without?

- Amazon: This wouldn't effect me too badly, but pretty much everything I buy comes from here. If it disappeared, I could still buy from Newegg or something, but Amazon has such good deals, it would be a real loss.

- Bing: I wouldn't care in the slightest. The only time I ever use Bing is when I go onto a public computer, and that's the default search engine. I only use it to search for Google, just to let them know who's boss.

- Craigslist: This would also be a loss. I've bought and sold stuff here quite often, and reading the "Casual Encounters" forum is hilarious. I'd certainly miss it.

- eBay: I haven't used eBay in a while, so I probably wouldn't care too much, but like Craigslist, it can be a good resource, especially for rarer stuff.

- Facebook: I'd have to teach my grandmother to use Youtube so she could see videos of my daughter, and I'd miss out on some friends' shenanigans, but other than that, I'd live.

- Google (and everything related such as GMail and Google Maps): I would die. Flat out, everything that I do goes through my Android powered phone. Google even handles my voice-mail for me. Google manages my bookmarks, receipts, and even has all of my passwords for my server stored, so if I lost this, I'd pretty much loose my life. Maps wouldn't bother me too much, because I still prefer to use a phonebook to find stuff, and I know how to use an atlas. I could even live without using Gmail, but it would suck because for the past 10 years I've been lazlofalconi@gmail, and a lot of people would have a hard time getting a hold of me. Also, as I said, all of my passwords are stored with Google, so if I lost both, I wouldn't even be able to reset anything!

- LinkedIn: This would kind of suck, but I don't really have a lot of contacts there anyway.

- Twitter: Good riddance.

- Vizzed: I'd probably be thankful to have my free time back. XD

- Wikipedia: Wikipedia is handy, but I actually prefer the old style of researching information.

- Windows Live: I haven't used Windows Live since about 2008.

- Yahoo!: I'd be sad, because Yahoo! used to be a pretty big part of my life. But on the whole, I don't use any of their services anymore, so it wouldn't effect me.

- YouTube: Like Vizzed, I'd be thankful for my free time back, but I'd miss ViHart, minutephysics, periodicvideos and SpaceFanNews.

Lazlo Falconi : As for your passwords on Google, why not at least additionally store them on paper, in your tablet, or on some other database?  While I expected Google would be biggest "Agh! The horror!" reply of the list that I gave, I wasn't expecting that answer.


Although I don't have them stored on a website (and instead backed up on two drives and a CD) I would have a hard time if I lost my bookmarks. I have ... *cough* ... over 3,000 of them.

CobraGuy : Store them on paper? Clearly you have not seen my filing cabinet. It is an unspeakable horror overflowing with reams of paper.

Amazon, Bing, Craigslist, eBay - Wouldn't care. If anything, I only use eBay as a source of finding special items I'll never buy.

Facebook, Google - This is where I get upset. Google is obvious, and Facebok is literally the only way I'm able to talk to my real friends, Nya~.

LinkedIn - I don't even know what this place is.

Twitter - Don't even use my account. Only made it for SEGA's Free Stuff Friday.

Vizzed - Disappointing, but I have substitutes. :V

Wikipedia, Windows Live, Yahoo! - Never really use these often, don't matter to me, Nya~.

YouTube - This is by far, with Facebook a close second (Sad to say), the one I'd definitely be the MOST sad about. It's where I find all my music, get introduced to new music, learn songs on my guitar, watch speedruns, watch (some specific) anime, etc etc, Nya~.

- Amazon is pretty worthless unless you want to buy something
- Bing looks like a mirror of google and yahoo I can't tell the difference
- Craigslist is just a bunch of spam bots posting
- eBay flushed themselves down toilet a few years back they become too nazi
- Facebook is about the most hyped pos site I've ever seen, absolutely worthless
- Google is a corporate search engine for attention whores they too got very nazi
- LinkedIn is better then facebook but pretty worthless unless you are loaded with monies
- Twitter is probably the top social network as it actually helps you connect with people
- Vizzed is the type of site I'd never join so be happy I am here participating
- Wikipedia is just cheat sheets for peoples homework (most colleges reject it as viable source)
- Windows Live is good for messanger however I don't use their site
- Yahoo! is the best site to troll on they sometimes got 100,000 comments in each article and many people posting each second.
- YouTube is good for browsing music and watching recently aired shows other then that the ads are annoying and people false advertise with fake thumbnails.

First off, if all of those sites went down then there would be a zombie apocalypse.  Anyways, I wouldn't care about those except Google, Vizzed, and Youtube.

If the Tube is down, then I can't be able to watch anything.

Another important place, I wouldn't be able to watch any videos which would really suck, so yeah I would be a little upset if youtube went down.



For the most part I wouldn't be majorly affected if these sights went down except for vizzed, ebay, google and youtube because I use those more and they are more important to me. Plus I don't even have accounts for half of these places.

I wouldn't care about amazon, craigslist, eBay ,  nor Google,Wikipedia,LinkedIn,Windows live, Yahoo or YouTube, simply because I don't use those sites regularly nor do I find them useful.  As for Vizzed I guess I would care since I'm a forum mod and I play my megaman games on here for free, I would care about Bing also because its the only search engine I will use, Facebook and twitter yeah I would care because I communicate with friends and family that way.

I only use my laptop to play games anymore.  So if vizzed shut down, I'd have to start all over again in finding another gaming website.  I guess if Google went down I'd be disappointed about that too because I wouldn't be able to check my email.  I could care less about any other website.

Oh, I'd be annoyed if eBay went down. eBay is where I usually get my games and older consoles. I'm thinking about buying another Sega Mega Drive from there soon.

It's not really like I ever use Facebook. It's more of a pain due to people pestering me to play games or posting me. Instead of the usual chatting, my Facebook wall is just "Help me in this game by clicking this" and things like that.
- Google
Google! My precious Google! Google translate, Google search, Google play... I use these quite regularly, so if these went down then I'd be wondering how to find a ton of things. Not forgetting I'm using Google Chrome.

Not sure what "LinkedIn" is either. Sounds like some social network.

Eh. Nothing special.

I'd be very bored. I like to post and play games and meet with friends here, and if I couldn't do that, I wouldn't know what to do.

Wikipedia has saved me in school so many times, and if that goes down, THEN what am I going to do for my school work?

This is how I re-watched my most loved Animes, got trailers for games and watched others play them, not forgetting get news on all the new hacks and listen to all the greatest songs. If this goes down, it would probably affect me the most.

CobraGuy : I could not live. I am glued to the internet so i would have nothing to do. But I would get ahead in life tough.

Amazon - I don't really use it, but I always use it to see if I'm getting a good price, and might get something from there, so I could live, but it's definitely helpful.

Bing - As you will see from what I say about google, I wouldn't be able to live without Bing. It isn't my main search engine though. I usually use Google.

Craigslist - Meh, not important. I'd go on completely normal without it.

eBay - I think it's always good to have options for shopping. But I usually like Amazon's selection better. I could live with it, but it is nice to have it there.

Facebook - I don't really have friends. I'm not a very social person at all in real life. I barely talk when people are around. So I could easily do wihout Facebook.

Google - Google is amazing! The best search, maps, and translator. But the problem is that Google seems to not care at all about privacy. Because of this, I'd actually almost prefer Google to end because of this. I hink if Google went down, then some other big company would make similar things.

Linkeldn - What is that? I don't need it I guess.


Twitter - I don't use this either. I feel like I wouldn't be able to get my thoughts out in that little bit of space.

Vizzed - I don't think I would be able to go on very easily without it. Vizzed has become a big part of my life, wih the gaming and forum, so that would be awful.

Wikipedia - I use it a lot when I want to look something up about a cetain band without having to go to a bunch of different sites.

Windows live - I never used it, and probably never will. I don't really know what it even is though.

Yahoo - I don't really use it. But yahoo ask is the the thing I'd use the most. In fact, I found Vizzed originally on Yahoo ask.

Youtube - I use it a lot. I don't think I'd be able to live without Youtube. I use it too much.

Amazon:I have no reason to go on it for I already got all the stuff I need.

Amazon: I wouldn't care Because I never really buy books, nor would I want to buy them online

Bing: I would be a little upset because its the only search engine I trust to use

Facebook: this old dinosaur I never use my facebook account anymore although it is a more family friendly site to connect with family so I guess I would some what care if it went down.

 Google: wouldn't care if its search engine went down because it isn't very good at getting th results you want, but I do use gmail so I would care if that went down.

 LinkedIn: Never heard of this site so therefore I don't care if it goes down.

 Twitter: I use it sometimes to talk to my friends and to make plans with friends so I would care if this went down.

Vizzed: Haven't been on here very long at all(well a registered member) so I have no opinion for this category yet.

 Wikipedia:Used it a couple times for history, so I would care if that goes down because it is kinda the reason why I'm passing history now

Windows Live: would not care at all because I'm not even to sure what it actually does

Yahoo!: Not even sure what this is used for therefore I wouldn't care if it went down(seriously is it a search engine or something I know you can make email accounts with it)

 YouTube: yes I would care because it offers so many free video of old cartoons and music and such as well as new music videos and current events and such basically one of the best forms of entertainment now days so yeah I would care if it went down.
