Spanish and French are the only languages taught at my school, but I went to Indy for a band competition and overheard two guys from another school saying their school teaches Japanese too. I wish my school could expand a little more and have new languages to learn.

Me too. My school made us take French in seventh grade. We didn't even get a choice. Later if we wanted too we could take Spanish though.

Mia03 : Well I speak French and Russian due to my heritage (74 % Russian, 11 % French, 15 % Irish, or it's 15 % French, I lost track actually) I speak those languages, Russian being my primary. At my school there was a French exchange student who spoke little English and I helped him out a lot despite the fact his accent was hard to understand, him being 100 % French and our French teacher's accent wasn't very "traditional" if that makes any sense.

I went to 3 different high schools and they all had different languages.

School 1- English, French, German. I took German.

School 2- Spanish, French. I took both French and Spanish.

School 3- Spanish, French, German, Italian, Mandaran (or Chinese). I didn't take a language since it was my senior year when I went to School 3.

Wished they taught Latin, Russian, or Greek.

Edit: Forgot to add that I would have taken German, Italian, and Mandaran if I was able to during my senior year.

I have a big school, so a lot of different subjects...  We have Latin, Japanese, Chinese, German, French, and what I take, Spanish.  You could take high school Spanish and French as an eighth grader too, which is what I did.  So I'm a year ahead in Spanish learning

As soon as languages weren't mandatory classes anymore, I immediately stopped taking French, I really disliked it. xD

If German or Japanese was offered I would have taken it instead.

At my school, they teach oodles and oodles of languages. From Spanish to French to German to Korean. I haven't learned any languages yet, but I'm planning on learning French. It sounds really fun to learn new languages. I'm just too lazy to enroll in those classes. I will get around to it eventually..

I took French during my freshman and sophomore year and now I'm taking Arabic. French and spanish was fun but I really wanted to learn the Arabic alphabet- looks so cool! I wish I could just learn all the languages XD

I had to do German. I used to take Spanish a few years ago, but my Mom thought that German would be easier. But I don't like it at all. It's Rosetta Stone, and it doesn't seem like I'm learning anything. I wasn't a big fan of Spanish, but it was definitely better.

in my country we do french, english (u.k, although i know u.s english because i went to the u.s ) we also do berber which is a traditinal language or something like that, and we also do arabic. arabic is freakin hard !!!!! the highest point i got so far was 19/20
