Major Tails fan here. He's cute, and I enjoyed playing as him the times I was able to. (Love the fact that you have to race Sonic in some levels in Sonic Adventure.)

Admit it, though. Without Tails, Sonic is nothing. There's no way he would ever have caught up to Robotnik in Sonic 2 without Tails' quick engineering, able to crash land the Tornado, repair it, add a jet to it, and fly back up to where he dropped Sonic off in a matter of no more than 10 minutes. If Tails wasn't around, Sonic would have lost the war for Mobius 20 years ago.

Tails. I really wish they would give him a role in the next sonic adventure where he wouldn't just be in the walker. I lie him outside of it.. He is also my main in Mario and sonic at the Olympic games.

In the games that I've played, Tails is way better. Sonic doesn't actually go faster, and he can't fly like Tails, without holding on to him.Sonic is overrated.

I would consider them as equals, mainly because it would not be the same if Sonic were without tails, they make a good team. I like them both despite how sometimes Tails can be a little annoying with all of his calculations. There are some times where speed is not necessarily everything, and it takes intelligence to get past Dr. Eggman, so Sonic would need Tails if he wanted to get the job done, so not to say Sonic is helpless and useless without tails, but it is because of their combined speed and intelligence that they have always been able to come through. They are both great characters and I consider them equal because there are a lot of thinks Sonic wouldn't be able to do that Tails can do like his engineering and inventing of things like the Tornado.

I think Sonic is better depending on the game. I play as Tails in Sonic Chaos more then Sonic because you don't have to mess with the Chaos emeralds to win the game. Normally Tails is a lot slower but in some games you can fly so its give and take when playing as Tails.

Personally, I can't really decide between the two. They're both unique characters just the way they are, but at the same time... I think I'd have to say that there are other characters to put into context as well.

Personally, Sonic and Tails are equal... but when I view other characters, Espio seems to be the coolest.

Sonic is way better. While Tails can get him to high places in the classic games like Sonic 3, Sonic can indeed fly his own plane and in the modern games, he can run on walls. It's kind of a tie yes, but Sonic just seems to take it more.

I don't see much of a differences between Tails and Sonic, because Sonic is a little faster than Tailsm but Tails can fly with his tail and can jump higher so it's really a tough choice.
