I'm going to have to go with the meteor theory, because it seems logical.

I have to agree with you there dk, it is most likely that a giant meteorite crashed into the earth, or a bunch of volcanoes erupted at once for a period of weeks or months, and the rubble, dust, and carbon dioxide blocked out the sun and created a greenhouse effect, killing plants and animals alike.

You look up into the sky, and see a curious form flying down towards you. It is a Hydreigon, and it lands in front of you and says...

The Hydreigon looks hungry... why not feed it before it leaves? Click on it!

satisfied, the Hydreigon spreads its six black wings and flies off to who knows where...

Well not all dinosaurs were killed but the ones that wre id say meteor.
there are some funny theorys though, that they got really depressed and commited mass suicide, they couldnt see the meaning of life so just stopped where they were and died off etc.

Turok The Dinosaur Hunter did it

It could have been anything though. Maybe they got nuked by aliens? Maybe they got infected with a disease? Maybe it was the ice age? Perhaps it was the cause of the tectonic plates & mother nature changing the earth.

I think that they just kind of died off. Little by little I think that they died because they were just too big for this small little world. You can not live on something this small, and be that big.

The whole thing about the meteor crashing into the Earth sounds fairly logical, though it could be a whole culmination of things. They all died at about the same time, and only the smallest and least needy of creatures survived. So it had to be some global catastrophe that eliminated most food supplies. Only volcanoes or a meteor impact could do that. So I think it's a combination of the two. Plus, they've found what they claim to be the impact site of the meteor that eradicated the dinosaurs somewhere in the Gulf of Mexico.

Whether or not the meteor did kill them off, one did hit Earth way back then. Traces of an element are found as a layer in the crust around the globe dating back the that period. And I forgot what it was. I wanna say Radon, but being that it's a gas even I'd find that hard to believe. When you think about it, that theory is very plausible. Tens of millions of years ago the Solar System was more littered with comets and asteroids from the whole thing forming than it is today. The chances of the Earth getting struck by one were a lot greater back then. Today it's 1:1,000,000 of something crashing into Earth (not an accurate number), back then it was more like 1:100,000. The Solar System has had more time to settle down since then. I'm not sure myself, but given the knowledge I know and the logic of everything, I'd say meteor #"T.U.R.O.K TDH" crashed down and wiped em' all out.

I go with climate change more so than the meteor.

The way I see it, if a meteor hit earth (proven) it would have shifted the climate, which is what killed the dinosaurs. So it was and wasn't the meteor.

The change in climate was too much for dinosaurs to adapt to, which is why they died out, yet other organisms were able to adapt.

I'm Sure the meteor played a part in the killing but It seems more logical that it was climate change. Since there is no way a meteor is big enough to kill all the dinosaurs itself.
The meteor would have hit killing some that might have been in the area of impact then the climate change would have been so fast that the rest would not have been able to adapt there for killing them off.

I just stuck with the meteor and volcanoes combined and the sun being blocked out theory.

If more evidence turns up, I'm ready to refine these views as I don't care too much.

Everybody knows that smoking killed the dinosaurs. Most T-Rexes personally went through two packs a day.

I think it was the meteorite that caused the Gulf of Mexico. Anything that could have caused a crater that large would've wiped out most species.

Yeah, it was a collection of events that played like dominoes. An Ice Age was dated shortly after the determined date of the meteorite striking. That event caused a thick blanket of sediment to surround large portions of the planet, limiting sunlight and energy that could reach the ground. That large of a change needs time spanning across generations to adapt effectively. Dinosaurs could not survive those conditions because they aren't equipped for cold. Those that didn't die of cold died of lack of vegetation, which also leads to lack of prey. Though some were able to survive, but changed a lot. Crocodilians were around during the time of the dinosaurs, but slowly developed to the kind we have today. That is one example. There isn't one specific thing that did it, but the meteorite was a start of a drastic domino effect. There is of course, many other things that happened unrelated to the meteorite, but I think everyone gets the point that it is a collection.

I'm going to say they were killed by the giant meteor. That's the only thing I can think of that would totally destroy the dinosaur population.

Actually, you guys are right. I forgot about climate change as a cause. THAT's most likely what did it. And I'm sure the meteor was most of the cause of it, if not all. I would have been a rapid change, too, as some of the dinosaurs would have either evolved or adapted to shifts in weather over time as the plates under Pangea moved apart and formed the continents. Even with ice ages coming. But for them to die off so fast meant the meteor struck a critical area on Earth which made enough destruction to cause a climate change.

I believe the big reason the dinosaurs became extinct started with the Great Flood. You know, Noah and the Ark? When God sent rain to the Earth, the Great Flood killed everything that was not in the Ark. Humans, animals, and dinosaurs as well. Now I do believe that there could have been dinosaurs in the Ark during the flood, but the few that survived did not last long afterwords. The way those last few died could have been for various reasons, but the only I could understand at the moment would be climate change.

I know this probably sounds bizarre to some people here, but I find this more logical than merely an asteroid crashing into the Earth. I think that if that were true then the theory of evolution would be true --and that is something I do not believe in.
