Okay, this is something I've been wanting to address for a while since I seem to get a million summons to handle something that I don't need to actually be summoned for.


This is the new rule going forward: If a forum has a local mod assigned to it then summon the local mod to that thread. Threads can still be posted in before being move to the correct forum. Thread moving is not urgent. It can wait for the moderators of the forum to get to them.

If you feel a thread (or post within a thread) is spamming or flaming then use the function built into each post to report those posts. They will be dealt with by the first mod who has power in that forum.

If there is a serious incident going on (extreme flaming or porn) then summon a global or David and/or contact us more directly via PM or chat bar and get us involved. Those incidents are rare but require immediate attention.

If you have any questions or clarifications regarding this feel free to ask in this thread.

as for getting attention regarding serious things.... PM's don't usually work. I've got tons and I know David does too. You're better off finding us in chat or on the chat bar. If we're online we'll likely notice that faster than anything else. And don't bug David unless the situation is very serious and there is no one else who can deal with it.

This helps me out too because I knew that summoning the wrong mods or just doing it wrong in general has been an issue, and I didn't want to be an annoyance by doing just what you explained. There are a few times I have found forums meant to be spammy and I ended up waiting for someone to summon a mod. Now I can do it myself without worrying if I'm doing it right.

Thanks to the fact i downloaded an unofficial(and far superior)browser on my phone i can now actualy see who moderates what forum,and summon the correct people,instead of just reporting abuse all the time.

This is good, but it might help if a user could see the forum mods from the "Reply" screen. So they don't have to go back or open a new window.
