as the title says today i was at church and i got to receive the offering, they asked me before we started church.

As to passing the offering plate around is boring really just depends on your perspective. For me, now that I think about it, is an opportunity to serve God, regardless of how insignificant it may seem. I have been asked multiple times to do this --we do have a small congregation. And since we are on the topic of offering, our church does not have offering plates. Instead we have planters. They really are pots for plants --plastic for those who assumed otherwise . This is to symbolize the fact that giving the offering is planting the seeds for God. I am glad you enjoyed the opportunity, crazycatpup, and I hope you get the chance to do it again.
