I can also fake a video.  I can fake an IP address.  The internet is the perfect anonymity for those who know how to manipulate it.  It's a punishment-free zone that can be dangerous.

Annette : Good luck to the two of you… I myself haven’t really succeeded in the relationship department whether it be face to face, online or long distance but I have tried all of the above. It just hasn’t happened for me yet. I have met a couple of my business contacts face to face and it wasn’t so bad. Since I’ve been on social media though I have been reluctant to meet up with certain people from my past but I have reconnected with a few good ones. Hopefully it will lead to only good things down the line. I hope so anyway, if it leads to a solid paying job if not anything personal I’m all for it seeing as that’s what made me get on social media to begin with. I am glad though by me being on those networks it has opened the lines of communication with a couple of people I haven’t seen in years many of them in the 12-15 yr range so I’m glad in that since that it became a requirement despite my reluctance.

We're having the best time, for anyone who is wondering. It's the reason I haven't been extremely active on Vizzed lately, though.

I've had my share of online dating and they all ended in failure. I don't trust a lot of people on the net and it's something special if gain the trust of one another, specially being truthful to whom you are. It's rare to see that online these days and you may have found him. My only advise, is just be careful. You never know his true nature away from the computer. Yeah, he may be the greatest guy behind the monitor, but his attitude can drastically change when personally meeting him. I wish you all the best luck Annette and I hope you found the one. 

I mostly knew that but that is why I was still a little bit confused. I do understand and again I really do hope that this all works out for you and him.

In case anyone is concerned for me (I thank you, but I've been talking to him for about 8 months now and we know each other very well at this point)- I've never caught him in a lie. I don't think he would risk lying, because he doesn't want to lose what we have (neither do I). It would've been really difficult for him to have kept up an elaborate lie when I was Skyping, phoning, exchanging pictures, and talking with him for so long.

Words can't describe how amazing it was to finally meet him in person. The chemistry we had online definitely carried over in to real life. It did change how I feel about him, but in a good way- Now I am
absolutely sure we are right together and my care for him is even
stronger.

Hopefully this Christmas I will go to Michigan to meet his family.

Where to start

Your story with you meeting him on Facebook is what caught my eye initially. I have for the past almost 23 months been in a long distance relationship with the girl of my dreams. We met on Facebook as well on an app called "Are You Interested?." It was an innocent convo at first telling people to stop teasing her in the chat room and then I got to liking her and as of October 6, 2009 we started dating.

Then last summer she drove all the way from Kentucky to Massachusetts to come see me. We spent the whole week together. The hardest thing was to watch her have to go home. Then this summer I flew down to Nashville and she picked me up and drove me back with her to Kentucky. I ended up staying a week and a half with her there. And now, we are talking about marriage.

It's funny how quickly things move even with so many miles in between, but if it's really meant to be you'll know it once you see the glint in the eye. At least that's how it was for me. I hope you ignore all the junk that people say, like "How could you be with someone when you don't know them?" But knowing them isn't being in person with them. It's knowing them from the heart.

If anyone tells you it's wrong or not real, tell them they have no knowledge because they haven't been there. I support you guys and hope for you all the happiness in the world. For true love is very rare and hard to find

Sgt. Dexter Grif : That is awesome for you guys, congratulations!! I agree with you, I knew my boyfriend and I were going to hit it off long before I met him in person. Because we really did "know" each other even though it was just online. When you spend a long time talking to someone (both being honest, open and personal), it doesn't matter if they're physically with you in the same room, you're still getting to know them.

So far nobody has given me crap for it, thankfully. And most of my close friends met him because he came to my 19th birthday party, so they've met him and they're cool with it.

totaldramaman2 : Nope, I live in British Columbia Canada. He traveled FROM Michigan to come see me, which is about 2,300 miles away from here.
