Yes I do my dogs are very close to me they are very spoiled

Yes I do, I have had the same cat since I was like 5. He's getting old though so the day he dies I will be crying my eyes out for sure.
I have 2 cats named Midnight and Breezey, a dog named Ruby. and a gerbil named Gir. For those of you who know invader zim <3

I think of pets as part of a family, because most of them require the same amount of attention that one would give to a baby, etc.

I don't think there is really a difference or use in excluding one.

Yes I do so very much. Even though they're spoiled they are pretty much considered kids in so many ways.

We have 2 cats and they are family. We adopted one from the humane society. Though we don't think she likes how messy it is, she lives with us just fine. We have a young one too, and he's just a happy kitten, with an extra toe. "Mitten kitten." They love us, and they love each other. I love waking up to them cuddling on the bed with each other.

Most of the time i do, I watch T.V with my pets but sometimes, They could be a real pain!

Oh yeah! My dogs are like brothers and sisters to me, the older ones that is, and the younger ones are like my children! I treat them like I would treat my real brothers and sisters. 

Even though I only had an kitten for 2 days I thought of it as family
even though I didn't decide on a name for it during those two days.

My answer is absolutely! I currently have two Cats and they could never be anything else but family. When you get a pet it's usually as a companion. How you could not grow attached to it as family always blows my mind when I see people neglecting their pets or abusing them. And animals are intelligent, very intelligent. They will talk back to you if you say something directly at them, open doors/cupboards/etc. They listen to commands, can sense what type of a mood you're in among numerous other things! They're reliant upon you as an owner and they know it. When you have this kind of a relationship with a pet you're already family in my opinion. It's like having a little brother or sister.

I consider my pets a part of the family.  That being said, I also don't equalize them with people.  I love them, I'm around them and I give them my attention all day. However, I wouldn't value my cat as much as a child if I had one.

All of my pets have always been given our last name as their last for we consider them apart of the family. Well, the ones that I recall being named anyway, we had a group of fish whose names I do not recall, but some fish that were mine I gave them our last name. I would say my dogs are probably closer as family than my fish or hamsters were though.

 My dog, Buddy, felt very much like a brother to me, even if I sometimes overlooked him for my friends at times. Even my current dog, Faith, feels like a little sister to me. When it came to my hamsters, they felt more like little babies I was taking care of, and the fish felt more like relatives who needed to be taken care of. I know that's a weird way of looking at it...

I recall I used to try and sign cards with my fish and hamsters names, but that kind of got old. We did and do sign with the dogs of the family though!

JUNGLExMAN : Yes I do… Pets are a very important part of your family and much like other members of your family can be there for you in good times and bad. In April I lost my dog that had been with me for sixteen years. He was a brother to me in many ways and although it’s been months I’m still grieving. I miss him dearly and I won’t lie it feels like part of me is missing because I often keep looking for him to be around me like he always was.

He sat with me through many all-nighters when I would write and was there for me through an extremely rough period of my life. Although I do not consider myself to be fully straightened out and redeemed from that period of my life I do owe a lot to my dog for being there for me through all that. I also have two other dogs as well. It definitely feels like we’re missing someone here. Things have been very rough for me and I can honestly say I would give anything to have not only my dog but all my other relatives back if I could.

Yeah, I do. My Shih-Tzu is my baby (not literally but...); he gets tons of my attention and gets treated like one of the family. I won't let anyone be mean to him. (It's illegal to bully a kid, it should be illegal to bully a pet.) He gets fed regularly, walked regularly (at least three times a day). He goes everywhere with me (on his own four feet 90% of the time) unless I am going somewhere he can't, like a grocery store.

Basically, he probably gets better taken care of than I do myself...

I do think that pets are a part of the family. I don't own pets now, but i used to have birds, and i did like messing with them by having them chase my finger when i fit it through the cage. I know, not that fun compared to dogs but they still are in the family.

Yes, I do think of my pets as family. Some people tell me I am too emotional when it comes to my pets but I honestly don't care what others think. I honestly even think of them as "my children". Probably because I can't have children so I tend to kind of take a Motherly role with my pets.

I absolutely do. They give you the best comfort when you need it. They will always be there to protect you should danger come. That is what family is for.
