keeping in topic with the... older... conversation, I've never really seen too much point in TdV. maybe just my old self talking but I always preferred VCS. it was simpler but just felt more like fun and less like work for a title. probably an unpopular opinion though

Minuano : I always felt that way even when I was winning a TdV title myself.

I think the point of the TdV was to be more "balanced" except that it benefited staff more than regular or trusted members.... there should have been a way to keep it balanced for everyone but that never happened.

I have never won a title myself. I'm a slow poster by nature, but don't put much stock in post counts. I think it does keep things entertaining, and is a fun competition for some users; so it does have a point.

I never tried too hard to win TDV but I feel like that may change in the future, Blue Jersey was the only one I really cared about at the time. That might change at some point.

Light Knight : I'm basically the same way as well, I'm not much of a fast poster, but put in a lot of word content in my posts, and that's why I won 2 Yellow Jerseys in my VIzzed lifetime (January 2015 & July 2018).

The reason I won the blue jersey this past July is because the low posting activity that took place during that month.

Minuano : Coming from a guy that has won 2 of these TdVs, it really depends on what your strength is, and like I told LK, my strength is the word count, so that's why I can win the Yellow Jerseys with no issues, but they can be a few spammers than can use unfair advantages to cheat and win, although that hasn't happen for a while now.

geeogree : I do agree, between the two TdVs I won, I won one TdV during my time as a Local Moderator, and the other TdV as an Elite Member, so I agree with that statement, especially when it comes to the CP jerseys (Red and Green), it's a whole lot tougher to compete as an Elite Member (July 2018) vs. when I was competing as a Local Mod (January 2015).

I'm eagerly waiting to participate in the next TdV (and win another TdV). Let's just hope this TdV doesn't have as much drama and bs as the one I won Winter 2017. And yeah, Green Jersey specifically makes it a huge disadvantage for users who aren't staff. I plead a while ago for something to be altered about it but I don't think anything changed, unless something happened while I was gone.

Lexatom : All the major competitors for the green jersey are no longer with us, unless someone new decides to step up. You're biggest competition for that one will be no 8120, and that'll probably just be him doing his staff work like he always does, not actively competing. However, with the surge in activity as a result of recent events, as long as it doesn't die out before next month arrives, you may find it more difficult to keep a hold on the other jerseys that may have ordinarily been sewn up.

With everything in the air, it's anyone's game.

Remember the first TDVs where it basically went to whoever could push the spam button the most in an hour?

yeah.... it was worse then but it isn't much better now. Most actions in a day. I basically went through the list of actions and did stuff until it stopped counting and then moved on to the next action.

All for a game that was made up where the points don't matter....

I say that yet I still did it because I wanted to be able to say I won

The TDVs used to be battles to the death, all month long. Such a huge change from those days.
