Honestly. It would be more healthy. If there was no world of video games. People wouldn't be cooped up in their homes glued to their T.V screen playing video games. They would be outside playing games and hanging out with friends. Though I can't talk. This is pretty much all I do is keep myself glued to the computer, yet I know nothing about computers. So I wouldn't be able to repair it if it were to quit on me.

yeah, no video games may seem like a bad thing at first but I think it has far more positives than negatives. I remember life before video games (or before my family had any) and I spent most of my time after school outside on my bike or building things with lego or something like that. Once video games came around I sat in front of the TV every moment that I could and played my games.

It would be much more boring than it is already. That's about it....I'd have to find something else to do with my time.

If the video game scene never caught on, I think most of us would have better lives than we already do. I would probably be doing either homework or reading right now and actually benefiting my own life.

Someone70 : Most definitely this, can't say video games aren't fun though. And of course, the US' weight problem wouldn't be as bad if there were no video games and people had to do their playing the hard way: outside with physical activity.

If video games did not exist, Vizzed would not exist and we would not be having this discussion. I would imagine that people would be more physically fit than they are now, and I suppose some people would be finding more stupid things to relieve themselves of boredom. Also, some people actually need video as a positive way to release anger.

Personally, I think I could be doing better in college than I am doing now, but I may even try to find different ways to avoid my work.

Well everyone would have a better attention span, and would actually be able to wait 20 minutes for something, instead of waiting for 1 minute and saying, "I'm so bored!'

Maybe there would be less people who stay in the house to game game game and go outside to be active. There are many kids on my street who play video games and do nothing else.

Kids would have to go outside or read more for fun.  We'd be smarter and healthier.  We'd socialize more and have more real friends and deal with real life situations more often.  I think people would be more creative too.

I grew up with the NES and SNES development era.  We would play for an hour and go outside.  Parents always told their kids to go play outside.  We didn't have this "Play five hours in a row" thing and we turned out fine.  Kids nowadays spend way too much time staring at a screen.  I think my generation will outlive the younger generations because of video games.

Well it's all been said.. but we would definitely be going outside more, socializing more, experiencing actual life situations, and social things that we see TV, we would definitely be getting more exercise, and not be as lazy, unless you do find something as a substitute
Oh and no more VizzB
A lot of our current technology has been developed for or by the video game industry. Would PCs seriously need such heavy-hitting video cards without video games? Where would that leave movie producers? Back in the Stone Age with plastic models and real pyrotechnics, that’s where.

And televisions . . . don’t even get me started. Modern televisions were pretty much built specifically for gaming. I mean, high definition graphics, built in HDMI ports, USB ports, Composite video cable ports—none of that’s for watching TV!

It would be boring, but we'd be doing things that would benefit ourselves. As much as I love video games, I have to say that the world would be much much better without them. I'd probably be exercising or talking to friends, but instead, I'm on a gaming site, talking about video games, watching my brother play video games.

The only bad thing about is when you're in a doctors office, waiting to be called, you're around people you don't know, or look creepy, you don't want to talk to them, so you're just waiting there, doing nothing, waiting, on the other hand, there's a Game Boy, you can just take it out and play Tetris or something like that. And on a rainy day, you are stuck doing nothing but housework/cleaning, and nobody likes that, so what do you do? You turn on the Xbox and start a CoD party with your friends.

First person shooters give the military some attention, and they're plugs for the army for recruits. And they practice their shots using a Wii. If video games didn't exist, they wouldn't have so many recruits and easier ways of practice.

Notice how there's not any MAJOR wars nowadays? That's probably because they are taking their anger out on a video game. Probably not, but it could be possible.

Another thing, back in the age of the N64 and below, you had to go to a friends house to play the game, making a physical effort to play Super Smash Bros. with a friend, but since it's all over a WiFi connection, people aren't moving that much anymore, because it's all in their house. Making mobility lessen, and people are getting obese for not moving, and eating. Eating is triggered because the screen of the game makes you think you're actually doing something subconsciously, and you get much more hungry.

That's what I have to say on the matter.

The world would end. Think about it video games make it easier to manage child behavior and is a better alternative to drugs, alcohol, and smoking. Have you ever heard of a gamer commit any crimes? Highly unlikely unless they hack or pirate video games.

I imagine that society would be completely immersed in television and due to the lack of interactivity, there would be less stimulation since all you have to do is sit there and watch and society might be a step lower possibly than how things are today. I don't mean to say that video games are good for the mind, but at least you have to think to play a video game and since puzzle games like Zelda and such are popular, it forces people to use creative thinking to a certain extent to figure things out for themselves which is something unique to interactive experiences like video games that I doubt you will find in books or television or other fixed forms of entertainment where every thing is fixed and there are no variables. Also, unlike older times, more and more people are finding to be untrustworthy, thus greatly restricting the freedom of children to explore and play outside the home, and this limits the amount of outdoor recreation that can be had by children. I.E parents and adults who say that kids are better off without any video games at all and they should all be playing outside instead should realize that unlike the adult generation, kids today do not have the freedom that many adults did as children since you can no longer trust most strangers leading to higher restrictions on children, and there is not a much for children to do as a result. So video games can help serve as entertainment when there is little to do outdoors. I also think that more people as adults would show a lack of brain activity and more old people would be senile. And for people who say that everyone would be forced to play outside, I don't think that is necessarily true. You seem to be forgetting television. If it's not one thing, then it is another, I.E without video games, t.V, without tv, moving picture shows with no audio, without that, books, without that, theatrical productions and opera's, cloud watching, drugs, alcohol, the list just goes on and on. There will always be something to distract people from living a healthy lifestyle unless we live in an age where were anything we want, we have to hunt and make for ourselves, like the hunter gathers. If video games never came into society, then I think we probably would have invented something else to waste our time on and/ or distract us.  This is all just IMO of course. Don't assume I am speaking for every one's opinion lol.

I don't see society being worse. I think with no video games people would be less lazy and obese and more athletic and intelligent. I would imagine school grades would be higher. Me, I'd probably read more, I'm sure my grades would be a little better.

Vizzed.com is very expensive to keep alive! The Ads pay for the servers.

Vizzed has 3 TB worth of games and 1 TB worth of music.  This site is free to use but the ads barely pay for the monthly server fees.  If too many more people use ad block, the site cannot survive.

We prioritize the community over the site profits.  This is why we avoid using annoying (but high paying) ads like most other sites which include popups, obnoxious sounds and animations, malware, and other forms of intrusiveness.  We'll do our part to never resort to these types of ads, please do your part by helping support this site by adding Vizzed.com to your ad blocking whitelist.
