Not only is this a reminder that E3 has started (and I highly recommend that you guys watch it) but this can also be the discussion thread.

I'm pretty sure this will be the biggest E3 even ever.  Microsoft, Sony and Nintendo all have some huge announcements and will be revealing some great stuff.

I'm not personally watching it, but I hear about it from my friends who are there.

If I'm not mistaken I thought I heard them talking about the Microsoft presentation, which if I heard right, they didn't like.

I'm no Microsoft fan, but that upsets me.

legacyme3 : Actually Sony's was kinda disappointing.  I was expecting this to be the year they finally have an awesome press conference but just another lame one for them, I found myself day dreaming while watching it.  Sony basically showed a lot of stuff that they've already revealed, there really wasn't anything new at all.  A new little big planet game for the new PSP 2, now called PSP Vita, looked to be really good though.  But the fact that I wasn't really interested in any other PS3 games that they showed is mostly due to the fact that I don't have a PS3 so I'm not into any of the exclusive series that are on that system.  Actually another game that did look pretty fun was Modnation for the PSP Vita.  Basically the majority of the press conference was dedicated either to Playstation Move, 3D TV or PSP Vita.

Microsoft announced Halo Combat Evolved Remake which looks incredible and Halo 4, I'm actually more excited for the Halo 1 remake though, especially since it'll contain 8 of the best multiplayer maps from Halo 1 and 2.  There were a few Kinect games (star wars, fable, new your shape, new kinect sports, etc) that looked awesome but those probably don't interest any non 360 owners.  I'm not a fan of Gears of War so the 3rd one doesn't really interest me.

I think most of the interesting games are multiplatform and Ubisoft had some exciting games.  Looking forward to seeing what Nintendo has lined up for tomorrow, I think they'll be the winner of E3 this year again which will make them the winner 2 years in a row (in my opinion of course).

I'm watching it now, well the static copy, can't trust live stream on this computer...

Now I'm getting what they meant.

The Sony presentation was ok I thought. I was more into it, because I have a PS3, and I rather enjoy the exclusives we are offered. Some of the presentations for the games were great. Others... not so much. The NGP being called the vita kinda irritates me. I'm still gonna buy it, but the name won't be something I brag about. I could care less for 3D TV, I can barely afford this TV.

Not a whole lot of NEW announcements, but Sony's always had a thing of telling us early anyway on exclusives, even in development. It's sort of like having E3 year round almost. almost.

Microsoft disappointed me, mostly for the Halo news. It wasn't bad, but I do not care for Halo. I hear enough about it, and I honestly think it's a substandard series, and it never captivated me, so I chose PS3 over 360 for the (opinion) better exclusives. The last thing I cared about was more Halo.

I can't wait for Nintendo's. I'm actually excited to see this Wii 2, or Project Cafe or whatever it is now. I might buy this system, simply because I think they learned from their mistake (opinion) with the Wii.

Overall, I'd say E3 is about as expected.

legacyme3 : I am really happy that the PSP Vita isn't nearly as expensive as originally thought.  I think the Wifi model is $249 and the 3G model is $300, I think rumors were that the 3G model would be like $400.  It's still expensive but that's actually not bad considering the thing is almost as powerful as a PS3 and is just loaded with features, I'm pretty sure Sony has got to be taking a pretty big loss on it.

Me casting judgement about PS3 exclusive series is just as bad as you casting judgement on Halo since neither of us are familiar with the topics we'd be judging.

Although I hate the fact that Nintendo is already coming out with a new console, I'm definitely interested to see more about it and can't wait to see it revealed tomorrow.

3 more days of E3 so there's still a lot of excitement ahead of us.

you got a point with the halo-ps3 thing. lol

I owned an original XBox, and had the first two halos. Nothing special to me, but I've heard the series got better on the 360. So it may have been premature, but I don't see myself buying a 360 unless it's really cheap.

I think Nintendo needed to release a new system. I see the Wii as a total flop honestly, and it was trying to cling to it's motion control and retro games (motion control being better on Kinect and Move, as well as XBox Originals, and PSone classics made it too hard to keep competing). They need a next gen system like the PS3 and 360, on the same graphical field really. You can only get so far on dated graphics and poor motion control handling. I see the new controllers will have touch screens on them? If that's true, it's amazing.

3 more days left? I wonder if there will be any shocking news. I'm trying to go to E3 in the future, so it'd be nice to save some for another year =P

legacyme3 : I would love to go to E3 someday.  I think you have to be qualified in some way, for example be a journalist.  Maybe my qualification would be having a gaming site? lol.

I think releasing the Wii with outdated graphics and no HDMI port was such a huge mistake.  I'll be interested in the project cafe though, especially love the idea of a controller with a touch screen, reminds me of the concept the Dreamcast had when you stuck the VMU into your controller.  I'm really hoping Project Cafe has an achievement / trophy system like the Xbox 360 and Playstation 3 have, those give me incentive to do everything possible in some games, it really extends the replay value of many games.  Speaking of Trophies, I really hope the PSP Vita has them.

I didn't watch it but seems to me the past few years all they talk about are COD's and HALO's... I dont care for the gaming industry anymore it seems to have turned into hollywood with more remakes and more rehashed sequels. There is nothing wrong with sequels but it really needs to be in moderation, not 2 times a year, not once a year, every few years is good timing. Why even buy a game knowing there will be a new version of it next year?

I'm only interested in getting one game right now and its from a franchise that makes COD and HALO look like newbies in online FPS gaming world. They have been doing it since the 90's, very underrated even though their company turned to crap I'll still buy their new game if it ever comes out.

Also another reason why I'm not interested is I just don't have hundreds of dollars to blow on entertainment. I would rather use money for food, rent, or investing in a business. I'm very frugal these days lol.

BTW... does E3 cover PC games or no? I'm talking about actual PC games not multiplatformer games that are seen on all systems. Cause that is what I would be interested in if anything.

This years E3 is great so far!
Some great new Trailers are shown already of games like: Assassin's Creed Revelations (goose bumps!!), Prey 2, Halo 4 (surprising!), Final Fantasy XIII-2, Uncharted 3 and Battlefield 3.
Of course there is also some new gameplay footage of games like: Uncharted 3, Mass Effect 3 (oh hell yeah!), Tomb Raider and Far Cry 3.
I was really looking forward to this years E3 and hasn't been disappointed. I was hoping to see a new AC trailer and it's amazing, a great CGI-trailer. I also wanted to see some more of Mass Effect 3 but till now we just saw a few new gameplay impressions ( at least something). The other shown trailers are cool and some of them are very interesting.
The biggest surprises were definitely Halo 4 and Far Cry 3. I've never thought I'd see a new Halo trailer so soon after Reach but it is a cool one and I'm looking forward to how this Halo is going to be because it's not Bungie making it. I haven't seen a Far Cry 3 trailer yet and I don't think there is one so I was surprised when they showed some gameplay footage of the game. It seems to be like Far Cry 2 but with some new features.

I have watched live stream for 3 of the presentations via Gamespot.com, and two others after the fact. I am excited about Halo CE remastered, and Halo 4 cause I enjoy each game in that series, Battlefield 3 footage was a let down, all tank gameplay, but whatever, more content soon to come. I thought each press conference was equally interesting, with each of them finding my self at a loss in interest. Playstation Vita, and newer PSP games (for those people who own PSP will have trophies, that may link directly under the same PSN account, so I guess section for PSP under ur PSN...?

Netflix has already partnered up across each console, PS3 has hulu(plus), and xbox does as well I think, but with 360 new partner it still is on par with PS3, with Sony's partnership with CinemaNow for movies and T.V. shows alike.  Both satify my entertainment needs equally.

I 've seen the Nintendo conference earlier today and learned that the new Nintendo console is now known as Wii U. Its controller  design is similar to a tablet, but it has a d-pad, four buttons, the plus-minus-home buttons, four shoulder buttons, built in gyroscope, forward camera, 6 inch touch screen, and it's wireless. But what it can do, in theory, turns the controller into what I like to call , the swiss-army knife of gaming. If you have seen the conference, or the videos on the internet you'll know what I mean. The console itself will be backwards compatible with the Wii, and support HD graphics. So in short, Nintendo has raised the bar to ludicrous heights on the hardware level, and also I really x10,000 want it next year. I am also psyched for what is coming soon to the 3DS. I mean Mario Kart, Star Fox, Legend of Zelda and most of them are coming out at some point this year. So this holiday, I'm going to be a very busy man, and I think can hear my wallet crying in pain just thinking about it.

The Wii U is another Wii, which makes me angry, because they said they wanted hardcore, not "fun for the family" and "easy to play". Meh, at least they try to please both of us, but I never want to touch a Wii remote ever again, making this a 1 player console for me, as they intend to only allow 1 tablet to be used. I enjoy the "No TV Required" part, so I can just play it when my mom is watching home renovation shows, or my brother's playing on the Xbox.

The Nintendo Wii has been discontinued and Skyward Sword will probably be the last game being made for the Wii, as stated by the man himself, Miyamoto.

No Mario Party 9 or Kirby, as announced yesterday, but instead it will be carried onto the 8th generation, and that for a few months, Nintendo won't have a home console.

But I am pleased by the 3DS's releases, as they announced Luigi's Mansion 2, Mario Kart, and the like, which I feel will propel the 3DS into being possibly the greatest handheld ever made, being showered with the things people have been wanting for years, and the greatest announcements.

I felt as if Nintendo's conference was the best of E3 out of the 3 big console developers, since they pretty much gave what people wanted. The Wii, while it was by no means a bad system, had many flaws that even as a Nintendo fan, I would cringe at. The fact that Wii came in later than the other consoles for that generation yet had weaker technology was a big mistake. Also, the lack of third party support made the Wii a laughingstock of the "hardcore" gamer community, despite the fact that Wii had many hardcore experiences, however they were mainly from the first party.

Now, with the Wii U, they're bringing in the HD that's probably better than any current system out there, innovative technology, hardcore games, heavy third party support, and obviously more satisfying first party games. Although I'm sure that down the road, there'll be a more powerful system from Sony and/or Microsoft in terms of graphics, Wii U is first to enter the next generation, so it's normal if the other companies make a stronger system afterwards, and Nintendo's innovation is always a way to distinguish themselves from the competition. So, I'm very satisfied with Nintendo's conference, whereas the Microsoft and Sony conferences were weaker because they seemed to waver in what they really wanted. They just constantly switched from their Kinect/Move to the hardcore, and back. It didn't make sense to me. I did find the PS Vita interesting however, and I guess it would be a lie to say that I'm completely not interested in Halo's remake.

EA's conference was mainly Battlefield 3. I didn't really like what the other stuff was on. NFS The Run looks underwhelming, even though I like the fact that they try to change it up. The quicktime events for that game look so dumb though. There's too many of those in games now. And Sims Social is just ridiculously bad.
I didn't watch the other stuff like Ubisoft's conference and whatever other ones there were.

So far, I've only seen the Nintendo conference, but I was very pleased with what I saw. The Wii U for sure, but also some of the 3DS stuff as well. Being a Starfox fan, I loved seeing the amazing shots of Starfox 3D, which is coming out later this year, as well as its new multiplayer mode. It looks like Starfox Command, but much better in terms of playability.

Well I have watched each conference that the three 'big ones' showed. I have to say that there were not many suprising announcements overall. I knew about the PSVita and I knew quite a lot about Nintendo's suprises. Overall I enjoyed all of the show but am mainly looking forward to the stellar new 3DS games. I also want to see how WiiU ends up. I am going to go ahead and say Nintendo wins the best show this year.

I've really been closely following E3, and it's amazing, with the PSVito, and all. But the 3DS games are the greatest parts for me. Because of Kid Icarus Uprising, Luigi’s Mansion 2, Mario and Sonic at the Olympics in London 2012, Mario Kart, Star Fox 3D, Super Mario 3D, Tekken 3D, and Tetris, I'm gonna have a tough time picking up the money for all of these must buys. I'm gonna reserve my Luigi's Mansion 2 ASAP. Luigi's Mansion 2 is my #1 for E3 2011.

One thing I noticed is, on the 10th anniversary of 9/11, Nintendo releases Star Fox 3D, where you can fly, and immerse yourself into the game, much like those planes into the towers, which I find odd, because they must've known it wasn't really a good time to buy a Flight Battling game on 9/11/11.

alexanyways : Sorry to have to tell you, but the Vita seems to be better than the 3DS in practically every way. Like David said, it will have almost the power of the PS3 and the PS3 is the most powerful video gaming platform available today.
