Does anyone on Vizzed have any good things to say about Glee?

The first half of the first season seemed like it was meant to introduce the characters. The first season finale was kind of sad, but the season overall was decent. The second season is actually pretty good so far. The new member of their group was a good addition. The new coach is perfect. The Christmas special was done perfectly with all of the Grinch references.

Some people seem to have problems with the music. I don't like every song, but I think most of them are pretty good. They pretty much killed Dream On by Aerosmith. One example of a good song would be this mashup:

I know there is already a thread about Glee, but that thread seemed more geared towards what is bad about the show. The title was, "Why is glee such a popular show?" That title along with the opening post set a negative mood on the thread. I meant for this thread to be a bit more positive. For anyone interested, the thread can be found here:

I personally love Glee. Finally a show that isn't a crime drama, or a doctor show, or sports, or any reality TV. It's a song that revolves around music and singing. I know that's not what everyone wants to see on TV but I think it's a nice change of pace from a lot of the other garbage on TV.

I agree with geeogree, it's a really good show that "Sways" away from the rest. All primetime shows involve doctors, reality, crime, or too much drama. It's really cool, it's like a musical 90210.

I like watching glee because i enjoy the comedy of it and i like there characters. It has a way of makin you feel for them like i sometimes really dont like kurt but they can make me feel bad for a character that i dont like. As for the songs they never bother me and the story isnt the greatest in the world but its still a good one. No one is calling it the greatest show and its not trying to be. It just wants to entertain its audience and as for me it does its job.

I haven't seen much, but I find it pretty enjoyable. I love music, and when a show has so many quality songs and great singers, it's hard for me not to like it. The fact that it sets itself apart by being a show about music that isn't reality TV just adds to it.

I love Glee; I love musicals and find the story lines very cute.

It's good to because they sing a lot of songs that I already love (and usually do an excellent job of them). I think even if I didn't like the show I'd still appreciate it because its making many songs I felt alone in loving popular (again)

Its a nice show, but u have to admit that less than a year ago nobody cared about glee clubs....now every1 knws what they are.

I normally watch Glee when I have nothing else to do or before I go to be and some of the episodes are OK but I don't think I'll get use to watching it.

I don't like glee that much. Maybe it's the show, maybe it's the hordes of girls at might school that just LOVE Glee, I just don't enjoy it that much.

I hate it: It it, in many ways, another one of those that is only there for the big money. The show itself, I dislike for two reasons: the bad music, and the flat plot and characters.

Lets start with the music. OK, I get that they only cover songs and don't write them. OK, I get that the covers won't be identical to the original, no problem. It doesn't excuse the fact that, if they can spend ten days on the choreography per episode, they should be able to spare time to actually have someone actually learn to sing it properly. The set-list is a whole other story, but it has more variety than I expected (still leaning mainly towards pop, but a few other genres lightly touched on) yet the inclusions of songs like "Baby" by Justin Bieber or Rebecca Black's "Friday is simply asinine, and obviously done to appeal to an audience.

The plot and characters...I can't say a whole lot but from what I have seen, it relies heavily on stereotypes, and for the viewer to roll with whatever they says. The characters strike to me as the cliche archetypes, with little depth and inconsistency, as far as traits not normally seen with said archetype. The plots I usually groan at, for often when they got a good idea it is poorly executed with poor humor (not inappropriate, necessarily, just not funny).

Maybe its just not my style, but I don't have high opinions of glee, a show that could have potential but is ruined by the big money behind it.

I haven't watched it at all really. But what I have seen of it I have disliked, Plus I would rather just listen to My music then getting told how awesome a song is by gleeks or whatever they call themselves

well if im honest i watched one episode and it looked rubbish and i didnt like it. in my opinion its just yet anothe rspin offf from the high school musical fad

I have never seen it so I can not say much besides that many people in our school hate the show. I just do not think that it is for me. I will stick to my House because I love that.

I'll admit it: I kinda like Glee. I'm not completely OBSESSED with it, like a few of my friends, but I like it. Sure it's completely unrealistic, but Iunno - it's kinda fun to watch. There are some covers that come from it that I like better than the original songs (-coughBadRomancecough-). The characters COULD have some more depth and some of them need to worry about things other than winning prom queen or whatever, but I still like their storylines. 

There's something about the show that is so ... interesting. Not sure what it is, but I'm always drawn in when I watch it. >.> plus, like others have said, it's a musical show that ISN'T reality TV. I definitely like it loads more than American Idol.

I'm not obsessed with Glee, but I do enjoy the show. I am a huge music fan, and all of the people on Glee have fantastic voices. Jane Lynch brings some amazing comedy to the show, and is sometimes the reason I watch it every week.

Season 3 starts the 20th .
