The emerald cockroach wasp does something similar by stinging roaches then the wasp drags the roach back by one of its antenna to the wasp's nest. There, the wasp lays an egg in the roach's abdomen. In a few days, the larva eats the organs of the roach. A few days later, a fully grown adult "hatches" from the roach's body.
