It's still a Kirby game. This also is not the only Kirby game that Kirby doesn't suck in enemies. Kirby's Avalanche not only didn't evolve Kirby's inhale, but it was almost totally copied off Super Puyo Puyo or something like that. And he can still transform, in Kirby's Avalanche he couldn't transform in any way at all.

I would assume, since it's not the first game to have kirby like this, that it is still a Kirby game. Plus, the game was pretty fun and pretty epic (pun not intended). But, I guess being a ball of yarn is something that kirby could be though, lol?

A good game is a good game. I have heard great things about the game. If I had a Wii, I wouldn't mind purchasing Epic Yarn. I loved Super Star Saga, one of my favourite games of all time (such good memories) but even if Epic Yarn doesn't have nostalgia or common Kirby themes, as long as it's fun in its own way, who cares?

NotJon : Actually it does have common Kirby themes, just remixed, like the Meta Knight Battle ( this is a remix of the Super Star one, so you might like it), the DeDeDe Battle, and Butter Building. They also have some nostalgic tunes hidden within the Yin-Yarn songs.

I still think its a Kirby game. I mean, it has Kirby and King Dedede in it. The only way I wouldn't consider it a Kirby game is if EVERYTHING was changed in it. No references or famous tunes from the series. I got to play this game at my friend's house, and it is indeed epic

It is a Kirby game.It's just a bit diffrent from the others .The title does say "Kribys" Epic Yarn.And he can still transform.But not using his mouth to do so.So overall it's still a kirby game.(forgive my bad spelling I'm not exactly American).

I think Epic Yarn can be considered a spin-off Kirby game because the core mechanics that are in every main Kirby game are missing, but the cute characters are still there. Just a different style of gameplay.

If it isn't a Kirby Game, then Kirby's Avalanche, Kirby's Pinball, and the first Kirby's Dreamland (even though he sucks up enemies, he doesn't gain their abilities) aren't considered Kirby Games. For me, it takes more than different game play to make it not part of the franchise.
