Tour de Vizzed Updates

Jerseys and Banners Affect the Vizzed GO Cards
Competitors of the TdV competition can be caught with their card styles and those cards will eventually have special purposes. More information can be found here:

Here's some brief TdV info:

Each day there will be 4 Jerseys you can compete for:
Yellow Jersey: Most words in a day
Blue Jersey: Most posts in a day
Red Jersey: Most CP in a day
Green Jersey: Most CP actions in a day

If you get 1st place in a Jersey for a day, you get to "wear" that Jersey the following day. To "wear" it means that the background of your username will have a unique background graphic. Only the top 5 places of each Jersey gets points, 1st gets 5 and 5th gets 1. Whoever has the most points for any Jersey at the end of the competition gets to wear that Jersey for the entire next month. If you have more than 1 jersey, your jersey receives stripes for each jersey color you own.

Along with the Jerseys are Banners that change your username color. They basically represent who has the most points total:
Rainbow Banner: Whoever has the most points so far in the competition
White Banner: New member who has the most points so far in the competition (anyone who has signed up in the past 3 months)
Gray Banner: Veteran member who has the most points so far in the competition (anyone who signed up more than 7 years ago)

Tour de Vizzed Rules:

You'll be DQ'd if:
-More than 25% of your daily posts are made in one of the following forums: Crazy House, Vizzed Market, Polls and Questions, Video Game Craziness, Newbie Forum (unless posts are made in your own thread then it's 50%)
-You copy content from other websites or other posts
-You use the "tabbing" technique to make a bunch of posts in a short amount of time
-You're caught cheating or unfairly earning Contribution Points
-More than 25% of your daily posts are made in the same thread (your own thread and staff threads are an exception)
-If 50% or more of your daily words are posted in the final hour of the day
-Staff members are not allowed to feature their own reviews during the Tour de Vizzed

Additionally:
If you get DQ'd just once from a Jersey, you can no longer get points for that Jersey for the rest of the month. We will be very strict from now on with the Tour de Vizzed. Only CP actions which you earned CP off of count toward the Green Jersey.

If you get DQ'd from too many Jerseys in too many TdV competitions, you'll be DQ'd from the TdV forever. Also, if you get DQ'd from a single Jersey in too many competitions, you'll be DQ'd from that specific Jersey forever.

Also, if 50% or more of your daily words are posted in the final hour of the day, you'll be DQ'd from the Yellow Jersey. Too many users have waited until the end of the day to submit a bunch of reviews to the site and that's unfair to users competing


Additional Tour de Vizzed Info:

Some CP actions only count as 1 per day. In other words, any action in the below list can only increase your Green Jersey points by 1:
Forum Navigation, Review Rated, User Referral Posted, Video Rated, Post Spell Checked, Visiting Vizzed, Screenshot Rated, Post, Game Commenting, Thread, Thread Reply, Chat Room Minute, Staff Forum Post, Staff Forum Thread and Screenshot Details Added.

These CP actions do not count toward the Green Jersey: Game Content.

Each day there will be a specific CP action which will be worth doubled the points which benefits the Red Jersey competition. Below is a list of which actions are worth doubled on which days this month:

Let the games begin!

I can't believe it's time for another TDV I've not fully decided what I wanna do this month in terms of competing but I do know that it's slightly frustrating knowing I have to do this at least one more time to try to win Grey in the summer but I for some reason seem to addicted to tdv so it's not all bad.

I think the grey banner is the only reason I would participate at all.

And even then I don't know if I will.

I love coming back during a TdV just to see how active things are but I almost never dedicate the time I need to actually win. I have the time this January to do it but I doubt I'll have the motivation to do much.

I might try and get points today or tomorrow to see how things go and decide after that.

Today I noticed that I somehow compete during the winter TDV but then completely skip over the summer one.

Right now I still have 5 days left on my vacation and then it's 3 day workweek until the end of January so I'll give it a few tries. Maybe I can finally break my blue drought.

I haven't competed in a TDV in a long time. I might try and get a handful of jerseys this time around.

EDIT: turns out it wasn’t quite as long as I previously thought. It’s been about a year and a half, so it has been awhile.

I'm quite happy with my performance yesterday I wasn't around for the evening because I went over to watch college football with my grandparents so I kinda wondered if that would bite me but happy to see the rainbow on my name again, speaking of which...

I've got a great start so far. Leading in grey!

That's all I really want to shoot for this year. Knowing I'm up against Zanderlex makes me a bit nervous but I'm hopeful that I might get to win something. I have no intention of going for anything more.

geeogree : I didn't even know I was eligible for grey until I checked today. Apparently this is my 1st time being eligible.

My plan is to win blue, which would probably come with 1st or 2nd in yellow too but I'll rarely win Red and green.

I might go all out the 1st couple days though to see if I can get rainbow for a day or two. Other than that I'll basically be trying in like 1.5-2 categories.

well that was unexpected I showed up in the standings

zanderlex : works for me. Knowing I can beat you in red and green will make it easier to keep the lead. I don't really care about blue so I'll likely leave that one for you most of the time. Yellow is a bit of a toss-up. I can probably beat you in yellow without winning blue if I just talk enough in some of my posts.

Either way I do hope we can work it that you win blue and I win grey without too much trouble. I'd like a grey win at least once

geeogree : Yeah, other than a couple reviews here and there there's only so much CP and actions that can be gained from just posting.

Even if I win grey somehow, I for some reason don't compete at all in the summer one, so you'll definitely get it this year.

TdV is here once again, but sadly I don't think I'll be able to do much. Real life will keep me away from the site more often than not until the 20th, at least, so I'll barely be able to place here and there on selected days.

I could probably turn things around in that last third of the month, if I can be diligent enough. I totally want my 100th jersey to be won during this competition, and I want to get as close as possible to 2k total points. We shall see how things go and how much real life allows me to do, outside of my main roles.

Davideo7 : The TDV page just broke at midnight. All the numbers for yesterday were correct and then at midnight the standings stayed the same but the actual numbers for posts, words, CP, seemed to double or more.

Excellent I have three Jersey's, and I've been promoted to Normal User, oh if only I didn't have to go back to work tomorrow, I'll probably still pop in and collect Viz (I work three days a week) plus I'm trying to wean myself off of gaming for the time being because the holiday nostalgia is wearing off

I think I've decided that this TDV I'm going to try to win rainbow and green I wanna win red but I suck at red since it's the only combo with green I've not won yet and I hate blue so I'm glad I've won it and then yellow is like if I really wanted to focus on it I could but not while keeping a high post count.

My wordy nature once again stepped in, if only I had the motivation (and the time and energy) to make more posts I could totally be a contender for yellow despite being average at blue.

I should be able to do a bit more tomorrow and Tuesday since I'll be entirely free (mostly free, in Monday's case), and maybe I could have some more free time later in the week. Nothing much to get jerseys, but some valuable points for the long term goals.

Well, so much for the grey banner?

Maybe, maybe not. I know there are a few games I haven't reviewed that I could write reviews for (like the one I did last night) that will earn me plenty of red and yellow jersey points without pushing the issue on blue too much and getting points in green is easy with music and screenshot ratings.

I should be able to keep getting points just fine like this
