Are you the kind of person who walks a lot or do you stick to wheels?

I walk whenever and wherever I can. I use the LG Health app on my phone and my goal is 4 miles a day but I usually average 5-6 a day. In December, I walked 155 miles throughout the month, which included staying home a lot for the holidays.

To be honest I rarely ever walk, I use to when I had real life friends but I just don't enjoy it alone.

Well living in Europe I think in general we walk a lot more than Americans. Everything you need is close by, and either at walkable distance or you walk to take public transport. When I'm in my dorm room and I have classes that day I don't take the bus but I just walk like 10-15 minutes to my class. It's good to get a breath of fresh air and I'm kind of a hermit so forcing myself to at least be around other people is good for my mental health, even though I don't talk to them. On days where I have 1 class I walk like 20-30 minutes a day and on days with multiple classes that goes up to about 45.

When I'm at home I don't walk as much as I prefer riding my bicycle but most mornings I'll walk my dog for a solid 20 minutes.

Walking can be fun! But only when you're not stressed on time and you can take a second to just observe the world around you.

I mean I'm almost always on my feet, since I'm really bad at sitting still, my average distance a day is around 10-15 km. I mean it's mainly cause of work because I'm constantly running around for my job. I am the most active boi but even on my days off I like to go to the park so I can play Pokemon Go and I also get my steps in that way. My weekly results are normally 64-72 km a week.

Before I sold my house and lived closer to my parents (therefore I could use my dad's truck whenever I wanted), I walked probably like 40% of the time.

Now that I live in an apartment, I walk probably 80% of the time, and get a ride/drive whenever.

I miss being lazy hhaha

Except when being casually at home, I'm almost always on my feet. I feel uncomfortable sitting down due to health reasons, so unless I'm actually doing anything that "requires" me to sit down you'll see me standing tall.

I also walk quite a lot. Every Monday I have like 30 minutes between coming and going to the place I get my medication at. Tuesdays and Thursdays I take the subway to class, and I also have a good deal of walking and stairs, both up and down.

The rest of days, if I go out somewhere, I also go with public transport so I have my share of walking. It depends on the day and what will I do, but I have no problem in walking long distances or climb seven floors if needed be.

I may install an app to measure how much I actually walk on my new phone when it's ready for use, even if it's just out of curiosity. Not sure if I'll get my numbers as high as the replies so far, but it'd be interesting to see.

I probably should walk more but most of the time it's moreso not really having anywhere in particular to go to, we usually go out and play DnD locally since the pathfinder society campaigns are usually a fun way to meet new people and the sessions are done in a way so that it usually won't drag on for longer than a few hours. Though if I have college it's like a good few hours travel in the very least. Also it being winter doesn't really help much towards getting us to do more than we normally would.

I walk a lot. I don't keep track but according to my phone which for some reason gives me notifications, I'll often hit 10000+ steps a day. I live a fairly active lifestyle so in that sense I suppose it's to be expected. I feel like the more active you are, the less comfortable you will be sitting still for long periods of time. Since I get around either through walking or using public transport I think that adds to it as well.

While I don't believe in the systemic necessitation of cars, and I don't have a license, it's the only way I can get to work within a reasonable amount of time, as it takes me well over an hour to walk there. I only really walk when I'm playing Pokemon Go, but hey, I get over 50kms a week when it's nice outside.

I walk quite a lot and much of it is from work. I actually have it tracked through Samsung Health on my phone. It says I average about 12-14k steps a day for the week, which factors in the 2 days I have off where I'm not moving around too much (maybe 2-5k steps at most), but on work days I easily hit 15-20k+ steps a day bringing me to a weekly total that ranges between 40-45km a week or roughly 25-28 miles walked weekly. Even if the step recorder isn't 100% accurate, it is still a decent indicator of my daily activity level and I'm happy with it for the most part.

The amount of walking that I do has significantly dropped over the last week or so because of the lockdown. Because of the lockdown, the amount of times I go outside has been reduced but also all buses are now free so I've been taking advantage of that instead of walking everywhere.

I walked a combined 4.79 miles between Sunday, Monday, and Tuesday. This is a huge drop considering I normally average more than 5 miles a day.

I’ve been using sweatcoins for two years now and before the pandemic I usually walk a good amount at my job since it consists of going back and forth the factory all night long. I don’t know how many steps i take but it’s more than 20,000 steps (I use breaker so that’s 20 coins). Keeps the legs active and helps me get closer to the goal I’m achieving at the app ($1000 for 20,000 coins)

With Corona being a thing I probably walk to the toilet and back a few times a day, and I'll go downstairs 2 or 3 times as well. Oh I still walk my dog too I guess.

And yet I'm not becoming fat. I think my metabolism is too strong because anyone else would have gained some pounds already with my current lifestyle.

I walk at least 4 miles a day at work each day, according to my FitBit, and then I walk a further 2 miles when I'm not at work. On average, when you factor in weekends, when I don't walk much, I get about 5 miles a day in terms of walking right now.

becerra95 : I used Sweatcoin once but even though i walk a lot, I got coins way to slow so I gave up.

Right now I’ve been getting my walking back on track. Since I’ve been staying home a lot more, I would go out shopping but walk for around an hour before I went to the store so I’ve been averaging a little more than 5 miles a day.

When I was on my college classes and walking to class, I probably walked at least a mile a day. I usually had 2-3 classes a day, and I would walk to class, the dining hall, and other places on campus.

Now that I'm at home, I don't walk near as much. Most of my physical activity has been on my stationary bike or playing sports outside with my family. I have once in a while walked around the neighborhood with my family, but the weather hasn't been the greatest.

I've been walking a lot less often lately, for obvious reasons. I'll be fixing that sooner or later... eventually I'll just be doing neighborhood walks, at the very least. I've made it a point to start walking around the house and doing indoors exercises, but of course it's preferable to do everything outside so you can get some sunlight and sweat a little bit more. I don't like sweating at all (ironic for someone from Miami) but I recognize it's importance to health.

I've started exercising a bit more recently. Some days some easy at-home fitness stuff and some days I run for a bit. Probably not in the most efficient way but I do want to increase my endurance and stuff a little bit from where it is now after these months of lockdown. So it's gone up since my last post here which is good

Doubt I'll ever be a fitness guru like some but I guess it feels nice to be a little more in shape.
