Here's your chance to be part of the awesome team that helps keep the site going with new content and content management. Being part of the staff is of course volunteer work but you do at least get rewarded with lots of Viz (which lets you redeem game codes in the Vizzed Market) and also CP. It also lets you strengthen any skills that you might want to use for a future career. For example, write a bunch of Game Guides, Articles or Reviews and use those as examples of what you're capable of when applying for a future job in the industry. Additional benefits of joining the staff include:
-Access to exclusive features and forums
-Access to features before they're released
-Access to games and systems that aren't available to everyone
-Recognition and respect from the staff and vizzed community
-You'll be granted a permanent Elite member position (which is the highest non-staff position on the site that offers some staff benefits) after you've left staff assuming you were a staff member for at least 3 months and earned at least 1000 CP toward your staff roles

Below are all of the available positions. Feel free to apply for up to 3 positions. You most likely wont get all 3 positions but if you end up not being qualified for 1 of the positions, the other 2 offer additional opportunities. All of the 'Manager' positions only have 1 spot available but for all of the other positions we're willing to hire more than 1 user.

If you're currently already a Site Staff member, simply apply to a position you already have and you'll be guaranteed to get that position back. If you're already a Site Staff member and don't reapply, then you'll lose the current position you have so be sure to reapply.

Application will be closed on January 25th and then the current staff will vote on who they think should join the staff. The new staff will be hired January 29th.

RGR Streamer and Netplayer
Help promote the Retro Game Room via Twitch (additional video game streaming services will be supported in the future). Also help grow the popularity of netplay sessions.
-Stream games from the Retro Game Room weekly
-Netplay games with users and help draw attention to the netplay feature
-Help promote the RGR with your own streams
Requirements
-Should do at least 8 hours worth of netplay sessions a month
-Should do at least 8 hours worth of RGR streaming a month
(if you're streaming the netplay sessions, the time would count for both)

Content Writer
-Write content for video games which can include articles, reviews, guides and more

Content Adder
-Add content for video games which can include screenshots, boxart, videos and more

PHP Developer
As a PHP Developer, you wont have access to the core site files but you'll be given a separate section on the site where you can develop your own PHP scripts. You'll get access to a list of variables and functions that will assist in the coding process. You'll also be given your own database.
-Develop standalone features for the site using the provided developer tools API

-Features have to be approved before development can begin
Prerequisites
-Should have good knowledge of PHP
-Should have decent knowledge of HTML, CSS and Javascript

Minecraft Admin (currently down, will be back up in the near future)
-Help maintain the Vizzed Minecraft server
-Help keep the server active by making the server exciting and by hosting events or contests

-Play on the server weekly to help monitor the server
-Must have the Bedrock Edition (or Pocket Edition) of Minecraft

Video Game Music Manager = Responsible for the Video Game Music Room
-Upload music either for games with missing songs or games with no songs
-Rename songs that need to be renamed
-Remove songs that are either of bad quality or don't work
-Add keywords to songs (upcoming feature)
-Rate songs and playlists

Video Game Character Manager = Responsible for the Video Game Characters
-Read through newly submitted character biographies to ensure quality and take action when needed
-Help add missing characters and missing franchises
-Organize the characters by making sure the current characters are assigned to their proper game franchise
-Accept or Decline characters and franchises that regular users request to have added
-Help add missing details to game characters and also help remove wrong information
-Optionally write biographies for game characters

Game Guide Manager = Responsbile for the Video Game Guides

Hi everyone I would like to apply for Content Writer and Game Guide Manger as well because I have worked in the field of making lots of guides, reviews and made a few articles as well. I had thought about which role I would apply for, and since it would be easier to apply with Content Writer than having to go with the other ones listed as single. I am very passionate about what I do and my work shows it, I also enjoy doing them as well. I like to apply for this specific role (Game Guide Manger) because its actually something I used to do. I love to encourage those who have made guides I have read them from time to time. Although I stopped doing that, at times I would go back and do it. I also give a good critic words to help those who also love making guides to build more of their skills. People have enjoyed reading my content of work they praised me for it saying it is amazing they enjoy reading it, and it helps too. Feedback like that really makes me happy and also pushes me on more to become a better writer in the field I am most comfortable doing. I hope you consider me fit for the role and if not I can understand.

I would personally like to apply for the following positions-

Emulation Manager - I’ve previously worked as a game tester here for over a year, and it was something that I was highly devoted to and completed every month. I really enjoyed my time as a game tester, and I think that Emulation Manager would be pretty similar to game tester, but as a more broad role. The RGR plugin does work for me, so that would be no issue for me.

Minecraft Admin - I haven’t played on the server for a while, primarily because of the issues we’ve had with the server and inactivity. However, I have over 100 hours on the server and have competed in many Minecraft competitions. I love being on the Minecraft server, and to have the job to make sure people have a fun time using it would be a dream. I’d love to help maintain, and more importantly, get the Minecraft server back to life.

I would love to have either of these roles, but I would personally also love to have both roles, as I feel I’m active and responsible enough to keep and maintain both roles throughout the future. Thank you all for reading, and I hope to join you on the staff!

I'd be focusing mostly on reviews, Which I plan to do in the immediate future anyways. I have written Reviews in the past and as far as I'm aware there's never been any issue with the quality of them. I know that I have just returned from a rather long hiatus, However I'm willing to put in the time and the effort to justify it.

I'm going to apply for Minecraft Admin


I was staff back in 2016 and that year and my short time as admin before stepping down was honestly the most fun year I've had on minecraft. The reason I stepped down before was because I thought that it was getting in the way of school when it turned out I needed to be on pills for ADHD so with that figured out I wouldn't need to step down for a reason such as school. I use to spend 100 hours on a month back when the server was up all the time and I probably would shoot for something more like 50 hours a month because I spent so much time on in the past it led to me getting burnt out. I will admit I probably didn't know how to handle rule breakers but I've had time to mature and I realize if I didn't know how to handle something before I should of just asked the great staff team around me. I always loved helping people on the server so if I could do that again as staff I would love to.

I'm going to re-apply for my System Manager / Nintendo Manager role again.

The reason I want to apply to Nintendo Manager is because, since I was granted the Nintendo Manager role a month ago, I have spent countless amount of time to add all of the Nintendo Switch games here on Vizzed such as getting the box images uploaded, all of the information uploaded, and all and all, keeping it all up to date. It's not just the content adding, but also post a lot of Nintendo-related stuff and news as well, mostly to keep Nintendo fans informed when it comes to anything related to Nintendo such as news and Directs. Also, I will help out on any questions that anyone has regarding Nintendo-related content.


Other than that, that's mostly it on what I'm applying / re-applying for, and I would also like to say, good luck to everyone else that is applying / re-applying for Site Staff.

I would like to apply for System Manager. The big reason I think I deserve this is because I've already been adding games for years. Ever since they were created, I was the first and only manager for Steam, PC, and Mac, adding close to 4,000 total games.

I'll also apply for content adder because I've already been writing a lot, hundreds of reviews, articles, and game threads in my vizzed career.

Okay, enough of the jokes, I had to say something about the fact my old role was literally called Minecraft Server

I would like to re-apply to a Minecraft server admin. I had been a server admin for multiple years now, even with the break in between. I can say I have over 1000s of hours on the server all together. I have been waiting so long for the server to come back up so i can basically be on the server as much time as my free time will let me.I have always loved the vizzed server and it'll always have a place in my heart, and I cant wait for it to move forward to bedrock edition (probably?) so more users can join. As well as all of the new builds and ideas that are going to happen.

Re-applying for the PHP Developer position.

15 years of experience in development and coding and just recently found some big exploits on this site. While I could add features and fix bugs up left and right, I can't because that requires access to the site files. David also told me I am unable to re-do or work on any existing site features so I must make all new ones, ones that he isn't already planning to make.

So I guess for now I will just work with David on getting this developer center figured out. It is still very primitive in nature, sure you can add code and databases but it is still not where I'd like it to be to where I can develop in a way that I'd like to. I'm use to having no limits in developing so this is pretty new to me but I'll try and get it working.

I made a few new features but the only one approved by David is the report center. Hopefully it can be implemented soon but that all depends on how far along we get with getting the developer center fully functional.

I'm interested in the System Manager (including each individual system), and Tech Support.

I was a RGR Game Reviewer a long time ago, and I want something to do when I am not working on my homework or university work. The roles I am applying for are straightforward enough for me to handle.
I can add this volunteer work to my resume when I am applying for jobs in the near future, and as an active member of the site, I would like to contribute in a more direct way.

Update: I am OCD enough to make sure that stuff is in order, and if it's not, it'll bug me. So it'll get done.

General qualifications:

I have been a member of the Vizzed community for almost six years now. During my time here I have been a Site Staff member twice, first as a Content Adder and then as the Sony System Manager. I have over 8,000 posts, over 28,000 CP, 23 trust points, and I have never been banned. I did get into the occasional argument years back, but I was 14 then, and I am 19 now. I am a much more mature and level headed person now.

Game Review Manager qualifications:

I have written 42 game reviews during my time on Vizzed, 29 of which were featured. According to the CP page I have rated 154 reviews, and others have given my reviews a rating of 4 or higher 107 times. I am often told that I am a good writer. In school, I am very involved with an on-campus publication called Binghamton Review. I am a staff writer for them, and I am also an editor. Additionally, I am widely considered the favorite the be the editor-in-chief next year after the current EIC graduates. As the Game Review Manager, I will not only read over reviews that are linked in the Featured Review Directory, I will also go out of my way to find games that don't have a featured review, and feature one if there are any reviews for that game that I deem worthy. If there is a review that someone asks me to feature that I don't think is good enough, I will not be afraid to tell them no. I won't just leave it at that though, I will give them tips on how to improve, and I will of course give them a chance to edit their review and make it better. Instead of just deciding which reviews are good and which reviews are bad, I will work with writers to help improve the quality of the reviews on Vizzed.

Tech Support qualifications:

During my two stints as a Site Staff member, I responded to 159 messages in the RGR Staff inbox. I also used to have the "Download the Vizzed Retro Game Room Plugin" thread favorited, so I could answer questions whenever they were asked there. I consider myself to be fairly knowledgeable about the Retro Game Room, and I think I would be able to offer solutions to most problems. I also won't get impatient with people asking why they can't play Nintendo games, because I'm sure that question gets asked a lot lol.

I'd be willing to take on either of these roles, or both of them if needed. My preference between the two would be Game Review Manager, as I think I would be slightly better suited for that role. Thanks for reading, and good luck to everyone else applying!

I'm applying for the following positions:

Video Game Music Manager - I previously had this position for around 1 1/2 years and I thoroughly enjoyed having the position. If given the video game music manager role, my first order of business will be renaming songs in the video game music room that currently don't have an official name listed. Back when I previously had the role, I renamed songs that just had file names, I added some new music, rated lots of music, and I deleted songs that didn't work. Video game music is something I've always loved, so being able to return to this position would be awesome.

Screenshot Manager - Unlike the other positions I'm applying for, I never had this role before, but I've added over 13,000 screenshots in my time on vizzed. There aren't very many users who can say that. Those who have made more screenshots than me are either on staff now or are a former/current screenshot manager themselves. I'm more than qualified for this role.

Content Writer/Game Reviewer - This was the first position I ever had as a staff member, and like the video game music manager, I held onto it for around 1 1/2 years. If given this role, I'll not only focus on newer games, but I'll also give reviews to obscure RGR games that I think people should give a try. My track record as a staff member speaks for itself. I'm as reliable of a former staff member as you'll find. I always met my quota even when I held 3 staff roles at once, as well as being a mod at the same time. I thoroughly enjoyed being on the staff and I'd love to do it all over again. I hope you'll pick me to be on the staff.

I'm confused as to why we have that Content Adder position since it's basically the same as the Sony/Nintendo/Microsoft/PC Manager roles, but whatever.

I want to re-apply for my former position of Sony Manager, and of course to the more general System Manager.

I’ve been doing those two roles for nearly three years now (and still do, because new games are hitting the stores as we host these apps), and during 2018 I even managed roughly half of the VGR by myself, taking care of the releases for both Sony and Nintendo systems, so I have plenty of experience in this field.

I’ve always attempted to keep my “sections” of the VGR as complete as possible. Over time, I’ve been on the lookout for newer sources, learning which of them can be trusted above others, and more prominently I’ve been on a constant streamlining of the whole process to reduce the time needed to invest on it and in turn increase productivity and effectiveness.

While I should get back Sony Manager with little trouble, I'd like to highlight my interest in System Manager (or Game Adder, to avoid confusions). Technically Game Adder is the easiest of the two, but the piled up work from the time we didn't have a (insert system here) Manager makes it tougher at the beginning. I've been in touch with the sources for all four systems, though I only ever added just a couple of Microsoft or Steam games (the former because I tried to be Microsoft Manager before ultimately picking Nintendo and the latter because I was requested so by the higher-ups since we had no manager at the time), so I think I'm the most qualified user out of the three previous managers.

Not sure if I'm already accounted as applying for two roles with this since my previous role basically splitted in two, but nevertheless I'm going to apply for one more position, which is Game Guide Manager. I more or less coupled it with the Sony Manager role in the past (plus the local mod position), so I know I could take it now too.

The reason why I'm applying for it is because beyond giving advice and keeping an eye on the forum, it should be the Manager who deals with tests for new kinds of guides. For example, we used to rely in the Photo Album for screenshots in our guides, but since that feature is no longer present we'd need someone to run tests on what other methods are available.

I've written two dozens of guides for this site already, and I'm fully willing to complete the project list I drafted back when I was a Game Guide Writer. That's another reason why I want to apply, because right now I don't have the time to write as I used to, but I can give proof that I'm working on things at whichever pace life allows me to, as well as testing things like what I mentioned about screenshots.

I would like to apply for owner in name. As in, everything will be the same, I just get the same perks as having the owner role whilst I don't do anything. The reason I think I deserve it is well, why not? co-owner if possible. Front-end owner that's the face of the site while in reality I do nothing.

In all seriousness, I would like to apply for Content Adder or Content Writer. While I don't have that much of a portfolio to speak of, I am a perfectionist when it comes to stuff like complete videos, pictures, art, etc...
I studied/am studing Graphic Design, so I have some idea of how to edit videos, create art or restore boxarts if it need be.

As for content write, I think i'm prolofic enough in my writing skills to be able to write some good guides, reviews, etc... that will bring content to the site

I think I'd be a great addition to the staff under the user role of content adder, my content is almost rated daily by the current staff, and as you can see I already have experience adding videos, guides, screenshots, and reviews as well as editing and adding to game pages and the content I add almost always gets assigned in the featured spot as well as high ratings.

RGR Streamer and Netplayer
I'm currently a streamer on Twitch, and I do occasionally stream some RGR games. I would continue with this on a more regular basis, playing more games, and also help promote the site while I'm doing it. I am planning on getting a new PC in the coming months, which will help me play/stream more powerful games available (for example, PS1 titles). Also, I would be encouraging interaction with viewers on my stream, so I would be offering any co-op sessions, if anyone watching would be interested in that. Outside of streaming, I would also try to play some Netplay games to show off the service.

Video Manager
I'm currently in the process of creating gameplay videos for some VGR games that I have, and adding them to the site. I am planning on increasing my output with videos, and working on a number of titles that currently have no videos (I can also work on screenshots for those games, however I will leave that position to someone else). I do also have some qualification on video production, so I know a thing or two about videos and how they are made.
