I had a fairly old laptop that was almost at the end of its warranty, and Lenovo ended up just sending me a new one.

The warranty got renewed too, apparently. It almost makes up for how terrible their computers are themselves. =P

So the oldest computer I own is from early 2013.

I had another laptop that's almost 7 years old that still works relatively well. I had a few scares with it, but it always ended up being a battery or charger issue.

I gave that one to my family, so if anyone wanted to use it, they could.

Simi-affordable computers in the home was a band new market, and it likely cost my parents around $1,400 with the monitor (equal to around $3,100 today.)

Currently, the oldest working computer that we own in the house is an Acer desktop computer that I happened to got for Christmas 2008, although it is functional, I don't personally use it anymore because it does have quite a bit of viruses on it, I personally haven't turned it on since I got a newer computer in 2012, but if I do, it will still work, just needs a little cleaning out.

The computer I always use is the oldest one I own. It's a Dell Dimension 3000 and it runs on Windows XP. My parents told me I began using it when I was 2, and I'm 14 now, so the computer is at least 12 years old. It still functions well, and it has avast! Antivirus on it so that it doesn't have to be rebooted due to viruses again. It's been rebooted so many times that I'm surprised it's still working well!

I don't understand why people keep old computers unless it's for sentimentality. Normally when I replace a laptop or computer, the previous one is destroyed and thrown away immediately.  I have a Dell something or other somewhere, but I'd have no idea where it even is.  Nor would I know what any of the above look like. There are so many brands and types of computers, and I'm not techy enough... that it's absolutely meaningless to me.

If laptops count, I guess the one I have now would be my oldest functioning machine, at a few years old. It's an Acer.... Aspire V5?  That's what it says on the right hand side right below the key board, anyways.

I have a Toshiba Satellite that doesn't work very good at all anymore. It's probably a 2010 make? I'm not sure. We once had an iMac back when they were in chic Mom used it for her classwork in college, and I used it for gaming on occasion. I wish I had used it more often. The oldest PC that I have I believe is a Dell, but I don't exactly know what kind it is. I got it as part of a tutoring program in my high school just under 3 years ago. Its actually been "out of commission" for about 14 months until just about a week ago when I learned I could charge it with the charger for my current PC, and it worked after being out for so long.

in my house i have a dell computer it's about six or seven years old it gives me trouble from time to time but it's a reliable old beast. recently i went down to my dads work place and in his office he has a an old gateway computer from about 1995 thats what he said at least this thing is a dinosaur i believe its supposed to be white but after twenty years its like a gross tan color i can't believe how far things have come since i was young i feel like such old lady saying that but it truly is amazing all technological advances in a short amount of time
