So they've finally done it, after over 2000 years of waiting we finally got a new installment in the Bible franchise. Personally I don't like where this is headed. First they made the Old Testament, then the New Testament, and now the Bible 2? I think the franchise is starting to become a little stale. What do you guys think? Tell me your thoughts on this.

Not sure what you were going for... But I guess it's amusing. Though I'd like to point out that it could also be very offensive to many. Religion is a touchy subject, and jesting about it, can lead to some very big problems... just a word of caution here.

I'm very cautious when I hear a new version of the Bible is coming out. I know a few years ago they came out with a political correct Bible they used gender neutral pronouns took out words that people might find offensive. Also some Bibles have added on to the book of Revelation.

I'm a Christian and the Bible King James Version, New King James, NIV and ESV are very clear whoa into thee that adds on to this book. I feel very uncomfortable when companies start to change the bible such as taking out words, making it more political correct. It is like we are messing with the message of God.  The King James, NIV, and ESV did not really add or take away from the Bible but translated it into English. Some groups as I have stated have done very controversial things to the Good Book.

Yes as Darthyoda said its a very touchy subject and lot of people have very strong opinions. It can also lead to some not so pleasant things.

Messing with ANY religious tome is asking for trouble. Be it out of necessity or spite or humor, you will open a huge can of worms. Do we really need to alter the Bible? I mean, seriously? I am not a religious person, but even I do not alter or defame a religious tome. I know the SJWs and PCs have been pushing for worldwide change and sadly, they have gotten their way in some instances. What is so wrong with calling a spade a spade?

As other posters have said, religion is a touchy subject. My first reaction when I saw that image is to wonder who that's aimed at, because I think many devout Christians wouldn't find it funny as much as concerning, and really, do people of other religions go around looking for this kind of thing?

tornadocam : You have a very good point there! Translation is an inherently tricky task, especially when it comes to cultural expressions and context; it becomes a question of how to best get those across without altering the original text too much. I think that's why it's a shame that word studies are as emphasized, because in cases of confusion, you can always refer to the original. You don't need to be a Biblical scholar to be able to take a look at the text's root and etymology. The example that best comes to mind is "love;" Greek had many different words indicating a very specific kind of "love," so looking at the original word would be a great help in getting closer to the meaning.

Also, I found the politically correct Bible- or, at least, the idea behind it- somewhat insulting to the reader's intelligence; are people really not able to comprehend that when God says "men," in many instances He is referring to the entire human race? Rewriting theology is another topic, however, and it's always concerning, but it's sadly not a new occurrence. The early church had to deal with the gnostics and other cults that would mix and match doctrines and "improve" upon them, and even in America's origins, Jefferson wrote the 'Jeffersonian Bible,' which was basically a copy-paste of everything he liked (basically some sermons) and an omission of everything else (miracles, resurrection, any real mention of the afterlife, etc.).

On a lighter note, as a child, like five or younger, I somehow had the erroneous notion that when Jesus came back for the Second Coming, he was going to give us a new Bible all about the events from Revelation to the end of the Second Coming. I wasn't quite sure how I got that idea, but I wondered if people like Mother Theresa would be in it. My father had to explain that my little belief had absolutely no Biblical evidence whatsoever, and that anyway, there'd be no need for a second Bible if Jesus was living with everyone in the New Jerusalem!

Hail to the king of the Jews, baby!

I think people are being a little sensitive. This is pretty funny and it doesn't actually contain anything insulting. It's simply Jesus on a unicorn with guns and laser eyes. It's not making fun of Jesus or showing any spite or anything inappropriate. It is only Jesus with a few unoffensive changes. Unless you're offended by the idea of a holy man carrying guns.

I laughed because I like the picture of Jesus riding a velociraptor. That's funny too.

And I also think anyone who can't take humor regarding their Lord and Savior should power down and reexamine how seriously they take everything. I understand mocking something as being disrespectful but when it's something like this, how on earth (or heaven?) can anyone take it seriously?

I do like that Jesus has M60s and not M-240Gs.

I clicked on this not knowing what to expect. I got a good laugh out of it thanks to the shock value.

If someones that sensitive about it then just walk away. You don't have to engage in conversation about it. There's nothing that offensive here anyways. It's free speech as long as it's not hurting anyone. It's just a joke.

This is awesome. I really don't see the problem with this as it really isn't that bad compared to what he could have posted.
