The Video Game Music Radio is an upcoming feature that I gave users a preview of after the music stream which has been archived here:

Basically it'll be a 24/7 "radio" music stream which will always be live and streaming on Twitch and YouTube. Users will have the ability to add songs to the queue and when no songs are in the queue, a random highly rated song will be selected instead.

Almost everything about it is automated and I can set it up so that it automatically changes its theme based on the time of day and/or day of the week. When a theme is selected, only songs of that theme are randomly chosen and it'll only let users submit songs based on that theme. What this thread is dedicated to is for users to give me ideas for themes and when those themes should take place.

For example, we could have an 8-bit theme that takes place Mondays from 4 - 8 PM where it's nothing but 8-bit music. Every night from 3 AM - 5 AM we could have relaxing music for those who would want to throw it on for something to fall asleep to (an idea suggested by Juliaisme, of course this would only work if we got enough songs tagged with keywords like "Relaxing" and "Calm").

I'd love to see a classical music section as well, where they play various videogame remixes of classical songs from games, though I don't now how difficult it would be to sort that sort of thing. Just a thought.

Nintendo Wednesdays: Allows users to pick music from Nintendo consoles that they want to hear. I think it should be Wednesdays from 12 PM - 6 PM.

I updated my first post.

There will be a few segments on each day that are similar but slightly different depending on the day of week. For example, 12 AM - 3 AM will be a playlist segment where it plays songs from a selected playlist depending on the day of week. Fridays will be special events where the event is either a weekly event or a monthly event (for example, in December, it'd be Christmas music).

I like the themes because it seems to guarantee some variety rather than simply most popular songs. Maybe a Cultural theme could work sometimes as well?

edit: Oh also, I'm definitely for the relaxing music in the middle of the night. I always sleep in sound, and I'd like to replace my current format with Vizzed Radio.

Davideo7 : Since you made system day a Tuesday instead of Wednesday like I suggested, I was wondering if you could switch Nintendo and Microsoft around because I'd like to actually be around when the Nintendo playlist is going on. I won't participate in a Microsoft exclusive event.

Otherwise, I was wondering if you could switch system Tuesday and Keyword Wednesday around because that day I'd be free all day Wednesday.

By "cultural" I meant songs that clearly represent a certain country's musical style. Maybe ethnic would be a better word? You see examples of this often in fighting games, where like the Spain stage has a Spanish sounding song. Perhaps it's a bit too vague.

Maybe one of the themes should be Iconic Music, where the most iconic music piece from a certain game is played. Like world 1-1 from the original Super Mario Bros. for example.

I have a theme idea: Pokemon Franchise ,being as how the pokemon franchise just turned 21 years old!

Putting together a playlist right now. Is there a way I can manually order songs in my own playlist? only reason I ask is because I was going to separate them by mood. I'm just kinduh going through and adding songs as they stand out to me, which is resulting in some weird transitions between soft, calm flute and piano to dramatic, orchestrated final boss themes, and I was considering throwing some metal in, later.

Well.. if this is a possibility for you to do, I would suggest playing a lot of scary/horror music on Halloween, to get us into the spirit. Along with maybe a few Castlevania songs through the month of October, being that 2017 is the 20 year anniversary of Symphony of the Night, which is often regarded as the landmark game of that franchise.

I think, once I got enough songs from obscure games, such as Suzuki Bakuhatsu, I might suggest it as an Obscure Game Playlist.
