YouTube is not the ideal place to watch animé for several reasons, or well, at least two reasons. Namely that the quality is often very poor, and that the videos can be pulled at any time if it turns out that the person uploading the shows doesn't have the right to (and I never bother to check first because laziness).

So I decided to ask here: can you guys recommend any safe, legal, and mobile friendly animé sites? I don't care if it's free or premium. But yes, all three of the above must apply.

Crunchyroll is the best place I've ever used, honestly, if it needs to be legal and safe.

Unfortunately, that limits you a ton, as you'll mostly be looking at new anime.

Funimation is another good one, but they are working with Crunchyroll now. Hulu used to be good for it, before going "Pay to Watch" exclusively.

The go to site if you're looking to watch legally is crunchyroll. It has a monthly fee but to my knowledge has most of the latest animes. The only draw back is that you might have a problem finding certain older series especially some of the more obscure ones. In which case you may want to take a look at their selection before making a decision. I would however say it's the most compatible with other platforms like smartphones, PS4 and even the PS Vita (which I'm sure you would appreciate ).

It also has a couple of other sites connected to it such as manga (kissmanga), Drama (kissasian), Cartoons (kisscartoon), and even regular comics (readcomiconline). They do update as soon as shows or movies are available online, so if you didn't find them there I don't think you could probably find them anywhere.
