Did you ever have to compete in some sort of a science fair, or some sort of a science project for your class?

I've never been in one of those real science fairs before, but I had to do a few projects for my animal science class, and I remember way back making little cars out of random household materials and figuring out how the speed changes when you put them on different materials.

What did you do if you did, and did you like them?

zanderlex : Um.....I don't think I ever did. I wanted too at one point but I don't think where my school was had those types of stuff. I only always thought it would be a usa thing I am sure science fair happens in other schools too. It would had been fun to actually try to create something to better the world as they would say through science. @.@

I loved those links you put up lol XD

I was in a science fair against my will (with everyone else) in 6th-8th grade.

I got 3rd place twice and class favorite once with my group(s). It was a fun time when my feet weren't killing me for standing for hours giving the same presentation over and over.

I was always homeschooled, so I never got to compete in anything like that. I did make a crossbow pistol out of nothing but rolled paper, packing tape and one of my sister's elastic hair ties and used sharpened barbecue skewers as bolts when I was 13. I even made a crude trigger system for it. You couldn't take small game with it, but it would be fairly uncomfortable to be on the receiving end. A lot more accurate than I thought it would be, too. My parents tell me it's amazing and maybe a little scary how I can make a weapon out of just about anything.

I've never had to take part in a science fair before. For some reason, I always associate the science fair with the 80s. Nonetheless, I've never competed in one. I only ever had to do projects for every science class throughout my educational career. All throughout elementary and middle school the words "science fair" never came up once, and I don't think it was something I would've taken part in anyway.

It's possible that my high school offered science fairs at some point, but again, they didn't do a very good job of advertising it and I don't think I would've partaken in one...there isn't much incentive to compete it one in my opinion...aside from maybe mentioning it in your resume. That would require it to be a good project worthy of 1st, 2nd, or 3rd place.

Although I've never competed in a science fair, I've had plenty of science projects that I've had to present to my class, here are a few I've done projects on, atomic models, boat projects (creating a floating regatta), creating a trebuchet (catapult), and plenty of bottle rockets. So yes, I've had my share of science projects.

Yes I had to do science fair projects in 7th and 8th grade. I actually enjoyed them. One year I did a temperature project. I took jars wrapped them up in different colors to see which color heated up the most. The next year I did a physics one. Were I shot different sized arrows out of a bow to see how the weight and size of the arrow effected its flight.

Some of my friends dreaded it but since I was into science I really had fun doing it. Maybe that was because I would go on to get my degrees in Associate of Natural Science, and Biology.
