For the past few weeks i havnt been able to go into my house because a serious mold situation thats really gone to crap the past few years ive been living in my house ive been inhaling mold through the AC but lately its been getting continuesly worse coughing constantly hacking up stuff in my throat it never goes away its been happening to my dad too the person we rented the house from continuesly put it off,just over and over again blaming it on our cat and what other small detail we may have,and at one point we couldnt stand it we had to crash at a friends house for a few days and my dad called me saying the situation got worse we drove to the house and a huge part of our cieling was green it was insane,we had to start wearing gas masks around the house if we wanted to pop in for a short amount of time,the person that we were renting from was suppose to have somebody take care of it but she didnt making a bad situation even worse and whats worse is that the friends house we were staying at kicked us out because he wanted to get layed,what a jerk,the person then finally sent someone over to asses the situatiom and take care of it,when they came over they thought it was just the vents but no apperently major construction needs to be done on the house,theirs some backstory to this about 2-3 years ago the roof started leaking,bad to the point were there was a constant flow of water coming from the cieling so they sent someone over to fix it apperently the ac was leaking and he completely ignored it patching up the hole so over time is just been leaking and leaking and leaking for nearly 3 years the mold multipling getting worse to the point were the entire ac is screwed up and leaking everywere its gonna need to be replaced, my dad called up some people and someone else let us stay at their house a good friend,their geeks so my kind of people,gamers and stuff kind of a silver lining to the situation im gonna be living on a couch the next few weeks but I wanted to let everyone know this situation,i know the people here on vizzed have really listened to what I've had to say over the years,and I appreciate that.

Wow... that's kinda tough. 
I know I feel a little weird when I am away from my house for a few days. I can't imagine what its like to be told you can't go back...

Has there been any news if you will be able to return at any point?

That sucks man, the fact that the person you're renting from didn't bother to have it checked out and taken care of is disgusting.

Hope everything will turn out okay and you can live in a clean house before too long. At least you can play games and whatnot with the people you're staying with.

Well, since you were renting, I suppose that is kinda good news since that means you aren't stuck with a total loss.
Moving to another apartment is kinda hard, but at least you're not stuck with the financial burden of fixing it...

Actually thats not true even now shes cheaping out even though she knows that we cant live there my dad knows someone that works in constuction that can give him a good price its comming out of his pockets not hers.

Why would you fix her place? That's usually a bad idea to invest in someone else's house...

Your father should sue your landlord. That is causing a potentially serious situation and someone could get very ill or die from that. Have your father check your lease for any loopholes or ways to make your landlord pay for this. Also consider bringing this up at your town's code enforcement office or the state's housing agency. I know in some states your father could pay for the work and then deduct that from the rent to an extent.

I saw this thread before, but couldn't post due to being busy. I am sorry to hear about what has happened. I do hope you will be able to find a solution to this. Since having a mold in your home is extremely unhealthy talk about even unsafe to live there. Please update more about how it goes. '-'
