We were talking about dog training at a wedding I was at last weekend and I brought up how I taught my dog to hit a bell by the door with her paw when she wanted to go out to go to the bathroom/potty/toilet, whatever you want to call it. Elimination, as it were.

Several people were impressed even though I don't think it was a big deal. But then I thought, yeah, that's pretty awesome.

What have you taught someone that is really cool? Have you taught a person a skill or a fact or taught an animal a trick? What have you done?

I've taught my friends on every school to accept me as i am, does that count?

Otherwise i'll say that i've got my best friend forever and ever after. She's 12 years old (i'm 16) and she likes exactly the same things as i do. (plus horses, which i don't like) I've taught her many things, like how to play some certain videogames and stuff. But the best thing i did to her: Teaching techniques in drawing. She didn't quite care, however, that my style is way more different than other's. Let's say that everyone's drawing style is unique. But i taught my friend many techniques, like alternative eyes (refer to my drawings for that, of which there's a total of ONE on Vizzed, but that'll change. soon...). I'm happy to have a friend like that. I even had a crush on her for a short while, noticing that that wasn't possible due to age difference. I wonder if i could see her more often...

Also, it's pretty cool that you've taught your dog that. What's his/her name and what type of dog is it? (I have 2 dogs myself too: A pug named Mindy and a jack russel named Mischa)

EDIT: Yay, i'm first. Sorry, had to happen.

I say when I help people. I dunno its like some of me rubs onto them and they start doing the same for other people. Then this starts to spread out more people taking the time to help people and see its not a waste of time. Which makes it even more happier as when you feel you help someone or a friend. They then tell you are their inspiration, and then it makes you want to do more things that you never done or come across of. Thats....what makes me to smile a lot, and make me to keep doing what I do for other people.

I hope this is the right way to answer your question? Please let me know if I did it wrongly. @.@

I taught my mother how to use an iPad... that has by far felt like the biggest accomplishment. She is not technology savvy at all and has the mentality that she cannot learn anything new. Ten years in Florida and still has not learn English so, this was huge. She now has her own iPad and uses it daily ALL THE TIME, such an internet, Facebook junkie lol. She is all over Facebook now lol.

That lead to her learning how to use Ruku, Netflix, Hulu, YouTube. I can teach her so much better now. She just learned to use an electric stove a few weeks ago. Happy about that lol. She is quite a learner.

Oh wow. Same thing as jlove92, except that the both of my parents are just not good with technology at all. I have to literally show my parents every little step for every little thing on their phone, as well as their laptop.

And I guess another thing is that I'm a computer science tutor. So I guess I taught someone how to code a challenging computer program.

I think the coolest thing I've ever taught someone is pretty similar to what Mohammed and jlove said. It's technology related. I've taught a bunch of my family members how to use certain pieces of technology, ranging from tablets to phones to computers. I like helping people in general, and I have a decent amount of patience (although it needs to get better ), so I am happy when I help somebody learn something.

I've taken business for the last two years and I've found it a good place to teach people things about computers.

I've taught countless kids about how to use Excel as well as the finer points of Word and PowerPoint. I even taught a few how to f12, and they spent the whole period messing with the school's webpage.

I taught a co-worker to shoot better.
I'd like to think that helped that person do better during re-qualification :3

I don't know if it qualifies as "cool", but thanks to me (in great part) my husband now has a native-like level of Canadian French. He still struggles with the intricate details of our grammar (phrasal verbs, genders), but I daresay that he speaks and understands it better than most of my non-teacher relatives.

Mine would have to be teaching my little brother how to vibrate his eyes, now he can amaze his friends.....or scare them.....whatever comes first.

People have told me that I taught them several things like how to be more disciplined, how to be a better planner, and other things. But what stands out for me is that I taught somebody without knowing it. Years ago I was a leader of a club in my Church called Reach. Reach's main goal was to encourage people to share the Good news of Christ, be more welcoming to newcomers, and be good examples in school or work. We would also talk about issues we faced or our own personal struggles. Years later I was having a conversation with one of my friends. She posted how she learned to be a better person by watching me. I was shocked and I was like really. She said yes you taught me how to be a friend to all, and despite our flaws how to be dedicated to Christ. I replied back well you know I'm not perfect and I mess up. She replied back yes but you showed how when you mess up you get right back up. So yeah I would say that was one of the cooliest things I taught somebody. It made it unique that I didn't know I was teaching somebody at that time. You never know that you might be teaching somebody

Eh, I think the coolest thing I taught to someone was, speed running a Sonic The Hedgehog game.(It was a rom hack though.) I think it was Sonic Winter Adventures,  and oh well he completed the first stage in 39 seconds.

Mission complete.
