Someone here in New Orleans decided to honor the Pokemon Go game by making a 5-foot statue of Pikachu at an abandoned water fountain. The crazy thing about this is that it wasn't created by the city of New Orleans, it was created by an anonymous person, and you know New Orleans is a huge art and music city and New Orleans being, well, New Orleans, so, it's bound to happen.

Where it is, it's near Downtown New Orleans, and I live in the southwest side of New Orleans, so I might check it out if I get a chance to check it out when I decide to go into downtown

Dude that's so cool! I wish stuff like that happened in my town, but, man Pokemon Go hasn't even been out that long. Where did whoever built this find time to make it?

I think that is cool. If you are talented at something, why not show it off. But I think its amazing how much one game can change the whole world in a blink of an eye. This game has brought people from all over together.

That's really cool. We don't have anything like that, we just have statues of people and stuff like that.

Now a Pokemon statue, that's pretty amazing.

The game is pretty crazy in how it has taken off and stuff and that's amazing.

That's pretty cool. I've been to New Orleans a few times, and I already loved the city, so seeing a Pikachu statue will just make me like it more . I hope I go to New Orleans some time soon, so I can see this in person.

It's awesome that it just appeared out of nowhere and on top of that, it's actually really good. I hope the city or their Parks department doesn't take it down and instead decides to leave it so that people can see it from now on, maybe even move it to a more suitable position.

I'm wondering if the guy actually went there and worked on it or already made it at home and then brought it to the park.

Thats cool. It is a lot better than the Lemmings statue my town has. (Dundee is another one of those art/culture cities or is trying to be. Lemmings originated is my town as well). Unlike that statue this statue was purposely built by the city.

Wow that's pretty amazing! I'm a little jealous though I would go there and visit everyday if there was one made near my hometown. Anyways its very creative for how it looks, and is certainly worth seeing. I do hope it would be moved to a place people can attract and look by. It would really be a shame if it was to get knocked down. @.@

The_IB122 : By any chance, has the city or whatever had the statue taken down or is it still up now?

zanderlex : Based in what I heard, it was taken down by the same anonymous person that put it up, and basically left a note thanking the people, and said that he/she went ahead and auction the statue off.

It's a shame that it didn't stay up, but I like the idea of it being the same person taking it down instead of the park or whatever, which wouldn't have been all that great. If the person could get a decent amount for it, it would be even better.

What in the hell? Someone actually spent money to build a damned Pikachu statue because of Pokemon GO? Maybe I am showing my ignorance or maybe I am old,but that person seriously has more money than brains.
